The “NBA Bust” That’s Making A Big Comeback

Спорт

#NBA #MarkelleFultz
Markelle Fultz is one of the strangest number one picks ever. He looked like a bust for years but after the trade to Orlando began to revive his game. An ACL tear sidelined him for about a year but while he was out two things changed that could save his career.

I was so happy for Markelle when he made his return against the Pacers the other night. It was kind of emotional the standing ovation he got from the crowd here in Orlando. And to support him our entire team or false jersey shirts to the arena before the game. I know where rebuilding but I think we have a bright future

Waiving Joe Harris stands out to me as one of the single most mind-boggling moves ever by the Orlando Magic. Harris was on a second round rookie-scale contract and already a 3-point bomber in Cleveland. The only reason the Cavaliers waived Joe is because he got hurt, and they couldn't afford to wait, since they were chasing a title. The Magic, OTOH, were in the early stages of their rebuild, and could have easily given him the time he needed to rehab. 💁🏻‍♂️🏀

It's funny how when the Warriors were winning chips the 3pt shot was the end all be all of basketball. But in all actuality the midrange jumper has remained the most dangerous weapon in playoff basketball, why were the Warriors so good, because KD was still hitting midrange pull-ups on those 3pt shooting teams. Good for Markelle, he can shoot midrange jumpers again.

Everybody think about this Franz Wagner is essentially what we got for the Dwight Howard trade back in 2012. We got Vuc in the Dwight 4 team trade. Then we traded Vuc for Chicago's first round pick which was the number 8 pick in the draft and with that we go Franz Wagner. Looking back 10 years later I think we won that Dwight Howard 4 trade. Markelle is very talented. 3pt is a necessity now in the league but DeMar show us that it is okay to shot less in the 3 as long as you can jack up midrange shots consistently. He can work on fixing his 3 point shot but for now he should focus on shooting midrange shots efficiently.

Maybe not on the same level as this year but markelle is about to be the next demar derozan. Watch the space. His ability to playmake in the half court, finish at the rim and hit midranges will have him being a 15-20ppg, 5 assist and 5 rebound player for years to come barring injury. He will be showing everyone he is not a bust. Always had faith in markelle. Glad to see him proving the nba wrong. Scary potential.

correlation isn't causation though - it's not that the midrange shot is now "better" - it's that floor spacing is now significantly better across the board and that opens up the midrange. If he doesn't have capable shooting around him, the midrange will still be a bad shot (generally speaking)

He says nothing but nice things about Philly to this day and one of the picks they got for him was Maxey who is working out for Philly. So I don’t think Philly fans have any hate to the dude, it’s just kind of the “bust” narrative because he wasn’t great within a year or whatever
