Holy shit

This is my safety song. I suffer from depression and anxiety. It's a reminder to myself that tough times pass, I've been here before and i'll get through it (Hey Rosey, I think I know just what the feeling is); and that i'm more than my illness ("Help me see it won't always be like this"); that I'd love myself anyway even at my most vulnerable, even if it's hard ("I will love you like there's razors in it...There's never really any safety in it.. Please do it again). Thank you The National. This song makes it all bearable.

Mike Mills is one of my all time favorite directors, the National is one of my favorite bands, and I Am Easy to Find is both one of my favorite albums and short films. This has been a dream collaboration for me. Thank you to everyone who had a part in it.

So waa a friend of mine. But her parents had her committed for 3 days. I heard she danced the whole time she was there. Now she gets SS disability check every month.

A razor is something you have to be careful with, Carin is saying they have both been hurt by love. A radiant flame represents the more obvious love Isla, their daughter has for Matt. She loves him as if he is a flame, something to be entranced by

@@user-tm1ou9de2w I would guess that because both razors and fire deserve respect, care, safe handling, and understanding that love should deserve the same. If mistreated, love just like fire or razors, could really hurt you. The following line " Never really had any safety in it" means a lot in terms of what shes trying to say.

You see the beauty but maybe you don't realise if you get too close it's gonna burn you? So a daughter loving a father without seeing the flaws? Poorly worded on my part but I really love those lines

I just came back from their concert and wanted to leave a comment, that its the best show I ever been to. If you are wondering to go or not, do it. Its an experience. They made us laugh, cry and dance ♡

Over the years my depression seems to be getting worse, I think I want to live but every mishap is taking such a toll on me lately. I put my faith in others and they always seem to put me down. All I want is some peace, well deserved peace I haven't had in years.

It took me a few listens to appreciate the album. When I saw them live it changed everything. This song and Quiet Light are my top favourite in this particular one.

yes. I wanted to here mostly songs from previous one, but ended up crying shamelessly through quiet light and light years. Only cathcing up with Matt on mr. november made me laugh. The National - making grown men cry since 2001

When you said that it jogged my brain. Reminds me somewhat of Bowie's last works. Verbally pulled out and musically as well. That awkwardness and otherworldliness that the dancer also captures.

i work in my cities red light distric and i see crack heads dancing like this every week
