Thanks, appreciate it!
Good demo guys, the best demo of this pedal on KZread in my opinion. I liked your choices of licks and your style was dead on with this pedal. Great playing from both of you and the way you played the pedal sold me on it. This is an underrated channel for sure. You guys are great and I love zZounds so it’s a win win for me. Thanks for another awesome demo. Take care ✌🏻

Thanks Paul!
Hey guys, I’ve watched about every video in this series, and just wanted to thank y’all for going through all these pedals! Hearing the differences is great, but with envelope filters being such expressive effects, the decision to buy one has to take into account the feel of it as well. After playing them yourselves, what would you recommend if I’m going for that John Mayer-Dead & Co. sound, mainly for single note lead lines. (Would like to stay away from the QTron+ because of the power requirements). Thank you!!

That’s a hard question to answer as there were a bunch I really liked. In addition to this pedal the Keeley, analog man, Emma, and source audio spectrum pop immediately to mind. I’m sure I am missing some other good ones. I still have my love pedal rubber chicken on my board. That one just works for me. I just saw he has them posted on his “secret” sale right now. If you want a link send me a message on IG or Facebook and I will shoot it over to you. You could email me through our website too.

@@PJandtheBeard Thank you for your response! I'll look more into those options. And sure, I'll send a message, thanks.
Think Q 1/4 open, a noticeable volume increase and adjust the gain just right to open the envelope. Think this with all envelope filters when trying to get close to a Musictronics Mutron Jerry tone. Try compensating by driving the front end of all modern Envelope filters. You can't get 18 or 24 volt tones with a 9v pedal but for the one or two tunes a night its perfect.

I know the pickups and boost in our Eastwood Tiger aren’t the same as Jerry’s in reality, but that guitar opened my eyes to his tone a lot. I can’t get close to a Jerry filter tone with it. At least not with our 22 watt Tyler. It’s a bit better with our 40 watt fender hot rod, but I really think you need a lot of headroom (like a twin) to make that really work. Driving the front end makes sense, the signal coming out of his guitar must have been super hot and with the pedals in the OBEL system they were getting full volume all the time.
Great playing. If you had to choose between this or the Rubber Chicken, which would you go with?

I’ve had the rubber chicken on my board forever and love what it does. Of course, it doesn’t have the high or band pass options so this is a bit more versatile. It is also a lot easier to find.
I'm trying to recreate the sound of the bass on West End Girls, by the Pet Shop Boys. The recording uses a synth bass, but I'm playing it on bass guitar. The Nano Q-Tron sounds like it might do that. Any advice or recommendations?

That’s definitely out of our knowledge area. Check out the source audio pedals though. They have an envelope filter and a synth pedal. Either one may get you there. It’s been a while since I have heard that song though so I am just shooting in the dark.
Hi, I’m a keyboard player. Between the EHX Nano Q Tron, and the Source Audio Spectrum Intelligent Filter, which do you think would be more suitable for clav, electric piano, and synth sounds? Thanks

I’m not sure I know enough about keyboards (although it’s a future bucket list item) to know. Honestly though, my gut leans towards to source audio as it sounds great and is super tweakable.
Hi guys, i am looking for an envelope filter pedal and i already have the Source Audio Spectrum. I'm looking for a guitar filter and I'm hesitating between the Nano Qtron, the Qtron +, the Proton V4 or the Mu-tron Micro Tron 4. These are different budgets but that's not the problem, I'm looking for a good filter quality, Organic Sound and with a lot of varied sound possibilities ... What do you recommend ? Thank you SmOoTy 🤟🤪

The envelope filters react so differently on each rig it makes it hard to recommend one. The nano and plus are both good but I would probably lean towards the nano out of the two. Haven’t had a proton in, but had an old version years ago and it was good. Obviously the mutron is great but I found it tricky to dial in, it was worth the effort though. If you want unique and varied sounds the pigtronix Resotron and the Dr. Scientist dusk pop to mind. Definitely check those two out! The Resotron’s glide feature is so cool. And the Dusk has so much funky stuff happening with the LFO’s.

@@PJandtheBeard thank you ! and if I had to choose only one that has a good wah wah effect and is very easy to use, which one would it be ?
Does this pedal sound the same as the micro q-tron?
@PJandtheBeard

I don’t think we have had the opportunity to try a micro yet but I would assume it is close. I think you have some more options with this one to dial it in though.

@@PJandtheBeard Im between this and a micro. But it’s true the nano has volume knob, and I thinks really good. I’d just be torn if I can’t get the same tone as the micro
