The name of Allah Ash Shaafee الشافي (The One who cures) | Abu Bakr Zoud

When the Prophet (ﷺ) visited any ailing member of his family, he would touch the sick person with his right hand and would supplicate:
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النّاسِ أذْهِبِ البأسَ، واشْف، أَنْتَ الشّافِي، لا شِفاءَ إلّا شِفاؤُكَ، شِفاءً لا يُغادِرُ سَقَمًا
"Allahumma Rabban-nasi, adhhibil-ba'sa, washfi, Antash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uka, shifaan la yughadiru saqaman”
O Allah! the Rubb of mankind! Remove this disease and cure (him or her)! You are the Great Curer. There is no cure but through You, which leaves behind no disease.

Alhamdulillah. Let's sincerely believe that Allah is the only Curer. The medicines do not cure us. It's the barakaat that Allah places in them to facilitate the healing. Or otherwise medicine would cure everyone one every single time. Allahu Akbar!

Jazak’Allah khair. Assalamu alaikum. To know Allah SWT is to know and understand His names and attributes. I had to be a revert for nearly 30 years to hear of such wisdom. I was just yearning for a source to be of reminder and of knowledge to direct me through all of His names. Most sources of Allah’s names are in a quick video or in a song. I ask if you, in sha Allah, that you are inspired to speak about each name on a scheduled basis. Others may have done this before, or may not have, but with reverts increasing on a daily level there is a precious need and desire for such guidance.

The word cure actually translates into preserve. Heal or to heal is in fact the correct word.
