Mine too. Not the one dancing around the ball, but soo clean, elegant and with the best vision and passing ever.

His passes were like a knife through butter. Most underrated player ever.

Vision is misused people think it means long passing. Vision is seeing passes others dont see then pulling them off. That is this man.

By far my favourite player. People mostly think about dribbling and goals, but there have been plenty of comparable players on that. In terms of through passing, nobody is close to Laudrup. He could dribble and score as well

If it's any consolation, Michael Laudrup was awarded "Best Foreigner to play for a Spanish Club" for the period 1975-2000 (by the Spanish Football Writers - those who know football). Keep in mind some of the players he was up against for that award, which included many Balon D'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year winners - Maradona, Ronaldo R9, Johan Cruyff, Zidane, Stoichkov, Romário, Rivaldo - and far more if you include those who placed #2 or #3 in voting.

I think, not sure i am, Maradona said once about him: the clever player i have played against in my life. He invented that play... passing without looking, even in other sports (rugby, padel, basket, et alli) whether you do that it is called LAUDRUP as well! he smashed boundaries, fo sho. Thanks and gob of thanks Michael! : )

Yearly Bath Actually, Laudrup is better in dribbling as he is more effective, better passer, , he is just better. Tricks does not really matter, effectiveness is everything, Zidane is simply more vocal as a leader. Defensively, they both dont do much, yet Michael covers more ground.

For passing and assists, there's none better than Laudrup, there has never been and perhaps never will be. Iniesta copied and learnt from him and see how good he became

If you ever need to compare same talent 2 players, choose the old one automatically. Do you know ball weight of the time? Do you know leg breaking defense players? Did you see a penalty area full of water and mud? ... where your shoot probably end... floating on the water in front of goalkeeper. Do you know those times jersey's absorb rain like a cotton pullower knitted by your grandma? And weighted 3x times more than normal weight. Messi at those times either be dead with a sole kick with spiked crampoon, or rarely he can shoot on target. Oldies understand me well :)

im oldies, but compare todays football with past are little bit dumb.. Football evolved and todays player (maybe Messi as example, because you mention it) also face difficulties.. Messi face mass media attack every single second if he didnt performed well (thanks to social media), on the pitch strategy developed to stop kind of Messi.. many talent fall before rise because too much hype...

Stop romanticising the struggles of the old. Each era has it's own challenges Nowadays football is a lot faster, defense are a lot more organised, and footballers in general undergo a lot more refined scouting system so only the absolute best athletes and technicians make it to the top. Don't get me wrong, i still think laudrup will kick ass in this era, purely because of his footballing brain. I'm just talking about football level in general. Today, football is definitely more advanced and harder.

Anyone who's ever had any propensity, at any level, at doing this kind of passes over or between the defenders in open space, knows that Michael Laudrup especially, spent most of the game in deep frustration, for the moment he'd lift his head he would expect someone to be cutting behind enemy lines, which more often than not was not the case. For if they did, this video would have been about 6 hours long.

you should watch djalminha old days , there was no media social media , youtube , videobands like nowadays so there wasnt popularity ( most of todays players are baloon ) you should watch hagi as you watch zidane or others djalminhas passes and brave you cant see nowadays
