The myth of Majoritarianism - Kausik Gangopadhyay

Professor of Economics at the Indian Institute of Management - Kozhikode, Kausik Gangopadhyay challenges the concept of majoritarianism, which suggests that the majority is invariably to blame in conflicts between identity groups. Using real-life examples, he illustrates how this polarization results in the majority being unfairly targeted, demonized and often denied justice.

@@at24hrs Sad reality. Hinduism doesn't have a centralised dharmic body with powers in it's hands. Same like the Popes enjoy and same like other Islamic bodies enjoy. Common man can try a lot but laws like Hindu Endowment Act where government has full control over temple income and zero control over Mosques and Churches needs to go away. Anti-conversion laws are long time pending. Right to Education act is anti-Hindu where others can demand quotas in all institutions but if the education institution is operated by Christian or Islamic bodies then outsiders are not allowed. Land Jihad machine named WAQF ACT needs to away too. Bringing HINDUISM studies in MAINSTREAM EDUCATION is most critical. Till when do we keep learning about Hinduism from social media and reels only? Many such changes need to keep Hindu Civilization alive. Hindus need to start making noise and get on streets (which is always difficult for Hindus) because they are in deep sleep and not aware that their extinction is coming soon. Hindus never ever learnt from history and present that RUN, CONVERT OR DIE for Kaafirs is a reality. They think that inside India, constitution or paramilitary forces will save them which is laughable.

Buddhism does not have a ritually sanctioned caste system. Nor is it written elaborately in any text. Some verses from lalitasutra which you might share is just a few examples of later written texts with no central authority and even they are based on occupation which changes. Buddhism is more elitish religion which is classist than casteist. But unlike Hinduism, your occupation can change your rank in buddhism. For example. Avg SC caste's occupation was noted as farmers, weavers, sculptors, carpenters, etc but still there were groups who conducted rituals amongst SCs, yet they never became bramans.(Source - British records of caste census) A whopping 88% of Bramans were into shudra-like jobs like farmers, dairy workers, cooks and even labourers on other's lands. 2-3% bramans were also criminals and prostitutes. Yet their caste still remained braman. (Source - Caste survey of Northern province) A number of OBC castes who technically are Shudras had folks ranging rulers or kings, to military commanders to normal feudal chiefs, yet none of them became kshtriyas. So the claims that caste = occupation Is false. Else bramans would have become shudras based on their jobs. As for neobuddhists, earlier i didn't really cared to see through their perspective but now once i dwelled on several forums, communities on social media I get it. Barely anyone attack bramans, heck see insta comments u would see every other sw!ne abusing casteist slurs, and other lowly stuff and 7/10 time he happens to be Braman. Just yesterday on one insta page, a bra man out of nowhere makes a video again a certain OBC caste and abuses their women in lowliest manner and my first response watching him was this bra man p!g deserves to be whipped naked on street and h@nged publicly. I'm not even of that OBC group so imagine what the person of that group must have felt. And I'm sure if you are some sane man u would have thought too. But alas now everything becomes bramanphobia. If you still believe in it, just make two accounts, make one with some Braman surname another with some SC surname and see where you get the most hate. I am just saying to see truth yourself and then decide.

In India Hindus are the majority no doubt. But we have been ruled for many centuries by islamic invaders and the Britishers. Think during the making of the constitution we just took it as it is without removing the sections which were against the Majority Hindus. That may be the reason our temples are controlled by the government. Also India is a free market and we consume the news from all the sources. The majority of the news sources in india have Stake holders from middle East nations like Qatar etc. So they can't report anything against the Muslims. We don't hear much in China about the atrocities of uyghur Muslims as much as minor religious conflicts in India.

Prashant and Yogi you both have good points. Look at how the USA constitution was made, they debated for days... The USA is young country stolen from Native Americans but it is the world power and there is some good qualities in USA constitution tho some are not suitable for India... For USA is USA a global place stolen from the indigenous locals ... Whereas India is different it is he hone of Indians Indians are the Indigenous and outsiders are hostile. USA can't be as focused on supporting it's indigenous in fact it oppressed them to this day they basically made them disappeared. India must protect its Dharmic/Hindu heritage and pepples while at the same time being flexible and able to be fair to other beliefs , fair depends on what ... Even USA doesn't allow everything. Hindus and other Dharmics need to be protected from the aggressive Abrahamics etc.... and certainly the Abrahamics shouldn't be given special privilege over the Indigenous/Hindus...in USA they pay Indigenous money for existing.... As reparations for what they did.... I don't see the Umma or Christendom ever paying reparations for 1000 years of oppression look at UK they stole 45 TRILLION and they aren't giving it back. They don't even have 45TRILLION probably. Anyway, India needs to eliminate the crazy stuff. It is wrong to have anti-Hindu laws. Hindus deserve equal treatment at least if not priority treatment along with all other dharmic people's. Let Abrahamics make their own way, they have support of outside anyway and are global majoeities... They are regional and global majority. Christians own half the planet of more. Arab religion is fast catching up with them... Then number three is Hindus, so yes universal Santana principles is good... Enlightened ideas that make India better now and honor Indians heritage and its greatness too . Our greatness is our strength value our good qualities. Meanwhile we live in 21st century with extreme high tech we need to keep up and compete... Look at what China did good and bad we can learn from them though they are a different people too... Make alliances be strong be true to Hindu heritage stop the insanity and stupidity. Laxmi comes where stupid people aren't respected and where husband and wife does not quarral clothes clean teeth taken care of clean etc ... Be real and learn from everyone though understand we are us and have to be us. We are under a lot of threat we need to be efficient and eliminate waste.... Stop the time wasting and foolisjnessm. Let people believe what they want but be strong ruler like other countries... Keeping in mind there are aggressive Abrahamics who won't play fair they need to be kept in check. The USA was made bc they were going there to practice their Abrahamic puritan religion etc and escape the church of England tho there were masons too... Tho look what the church did to the native Americans it wiped them out.... Look at Lebanon... Look at Constantinople look at pak those ideologies try to aggressively overtake others... Even protestant reformation in Europe was violent and even the spread of Christianity was violent and we all know history of how Arabian religion spread out to rest of middle wat... They all follow Abraham who is praised for trying to kill his own son ... What kind of people basically they praise that... That's the type of people we are dealing with... And let's look from atheist perspective so a guy supposedly heard a voice in his head ie Abraham and then went to kill his son but then the voice at last minute stopped him... What kind of crazy stuff is that... Mentally ill behavior. That's the science perspective... We are entering the space age the information age the post information age... We need to modernize while honoring fully our roots ... VRIDHOPASEVA , take care of the old .....

They are the single largest caste tho. Bramans are like 5-6% of population and if you add lesser castes like Mohyal tyagi and Bhumihar bramans, braman are easily 9-10% of Indian population. Rest of the categories feel numerically big but there are 1100+ SC castes, 750+ ST tribes and 5000+ OBC castes. If you look at individually barely few castes of OBCs like Jats, Gujjars, Yadav's and Marathas and rajputs have big population upto 5-6 crores. Rest all are minuscule in population size.Bramans are like 8-12 crores in population and even big.

@@Anonymous-xz1ym are fking dumb? Brahmins are only 3% of overall India. OBC like Yadavs are easily 6.8% of total population of India and 14% of UP and Bihar. How are Brahmins the largest single caste???

This is obfuscation. You combined all the Brahmin tribes as one to suit your narrative yet split all the other castes to suit it? If that is the case than only select backward castes should be granted reservation otherwise this claim would be bogus.@@Anonymous-xz1ym

It isn't a hard and fast rule. And culturally there is little to set apart a Brahmin from that of another जाति, as they are of the same culture and religion.

Monotheism (the doctrine or belief that there is only one God) is blamed as the instigator of ignorance, oppression, and violence. Monotheism has been a "totalizing discourse", often co-opting all aspects of a social belief system, resulting in the exclusion of "others". Monotheism is less pluralistic and thus less tolerant than polytheism, because monotheism stipulates that people pigeonhole their beliefs into one tenet. "Monotheism is irreconcilable with the existence in our nature of the instincts of benevolence" because it compels followers to devote themselves to a single Creator. The logic of monotheism ... yields little basis for tolerating other religions". Monotheism anesthetize the sense of wonder as if one were committed to a single line of thought by a cosmic legal contract".
