The Mysterious Legend of Atlantis: The Incredible Story of the Sunken City | Space DOCUMENTARY

Ғылым және технология

🌍 Our planet Earth is a world in perpetual motion. The incredible evolution of life over the last few billion years is irrefutable proof of this. Tsunamis, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions have and continue to devastate parts of the planet leading to changes in the living world and the physiognomy of its surface. This is how continents are wiped off the map or species such as many dinosaurs disappear. But the destruction of a species is not an end in itself, but rather a ring in a very precise evolutionary chain.
Cataclysmic events have been occurring since the dawn of time, and the stories of these events have been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years. This concept of the "destruction of the world" is often linked to religion in mythology, and usually involves a deity coming to punish humans for not living up to their principles. But among all the legendary stories recorded since the beginning of life, the story of Atlantis is the one that has been the most talked about. Its name alone represents the dream and the mysterious, almost as if in the collective consciousness this vanished island had always existed.
🔥 As a reminder, the videos are published on SUNDAYS at 18:00.
-------------------------
💥 THE LEGEND OF ATLANTIDE:
- Detailed by the philosopher Plato as housing a highly advanced civilization with revolutionary knowledge, the island of Atlantis is a true haven of peace. An ideal climate reigns there and the Atlanteans enjoy fertile lands and an irreproachable justice. However, this marvelous world will know a disastrous end since it will disappear under water in one day and one night following a cataclysm caused by a divinity. Atlantis continues today to tear the scientists, it remains nevertheless very mysterious. Sometimes found in the Atlantic, sometimes in America, others see in Sardinia the vestiges of the sunken city. Theories on the subject abound since always, however today none of them agrees with the majority.
But which is the starting point of the representations of Atlantis? How was its history born? Did this disappeared continent really exist or is it simply the reflection of the fantasy of an idealized way of life?
Thanks to all these riches the Atlanteans were able to develop the island as they wished. They first built bridges so that their continent would be accessible to the royal temple and the rest of the world. The royal residence remained where Poseidon and Clito had settled when they arrived on the island. This house was then bequeathed from descendants to descendants.
The Atlanteans dug a large canal so that even the largest ships could travel to the mainland. Merchants and traders came from all over, day and night. The largest port was even known to make a deafening racket with so many people chatting.
A triple enclosure was erected around the royal residence. The architecture was nicely arranged with the black, white and red stones that were harvested from below the periphery of the central island. Metals were often added to give it shine.
In the middle of the Acropolis, one could see the sacred temple of Clito and Poseidon, barricaded with a golden fence. It is in this precise place that, every year, the Atlanteans came to offer in sacrifice their first fruits. The sanctuary of Poseidon was covered with silver and gold. Its interior was made of ivory, silver, gold and orichalcum, and many statues were erected. Outside, all around the sanctuary, were represented in gold the images of the ten kings and their wives.
The Atlanteans had temples and gardens in the honor of their god. They also had gymnasiums, for the men and for the horses, and a hippodrome.

I'm obsessed with Atlantis, I don't see why people who even mention it are shunned by there respective communities one example being archeology. Atlantis is mentioned by many other early civilizations if only all the old libraries weren't burned by the Roman's and other cultures we'd have this Knowledge.

"Atlantis is mentioned by many other early civilizations" You must be keeping that information to yourself, because there literally isn't a single reference to it in the ancient world prior to Plato's texts. "if only all the old libraries weren't burned by the Roman's and other cultures we'd have this Knowledge" If you are referring to the Library of Alexandria that myth has been debunked into the dust. By the time it burned it had already fallen out of significant use - and most of the texts within it were no more than trade manifests anyway. A library that exists in a prominent trading port like Alexandria is going to prioritise TRADING information.

Yes, that structure may very well be the city described by Plato. But please understand that Atlantis was not a site, not a civilization but a different humanity who had their mainland in the large island called Poseidonis situated beteewn north America and the Iberian peninsula, And in many smaller islands in the Atlantic ocean. Spreading to Egypt, Mexico, Peru. I recomend "The empires of Atlantis" in the Theosophical society youtube channel.

I think something we need to look into is how Plato didn't like artistic representation of life since he saw it as a "poor, artificial substitute for the real thing". So if he hated such things, perhaps even mythology and legends, then why would he write about an ancient advanced civilization if humanity was already over 2000 years away from reaching even perhaps a fraction of that? Some things don't really make sense, and there might be something deeper to this. Just like how underwater pyramids have been found and the over-running legend of Babylon and it's empire is, maybe not completely known, but people will recognise the name. Perhaps we just need to wait a few more decades or centuries to possibly uncover if it does have some sort of truth.🤔

Plato used stories within his dialogues to frame philosphical parables. This is a very well known fact of Plato's work - including the fact that he included Socrates in much of it despite Socrates already being dead before most of them were written. You can't just take Critias and Timaeus on their own and discount every single other work he authored that follows EXACTLY THE SAME LITERARY FORMAT. Atlantis is an amalgam of myth, real places (possibly as related by Herodotus in Plato's lifetime) and likely Greek folklore used to make a point within that story. "why would he write about an ancient advanced civilization if humanity was already over 2000 years away from reaching even perhaps a fraction of that?" The actual text says no such thing. You are confusing the works of Ignatius Donnelly who described Atlantis in terms different to that found within Plato's dialogues.

I believe Atlantis was situated on the earth's equator. When a magnetic pole shift happened the earth tilted off axis to some degree, Atlantis was no longer situated at the in the equatorial bullge, and sunk into the ocean. An equatorial bulge is a difference between the equatorial and polar diameters of a planet, due to the centrifugal force exerted by the rotation about the body's axis. A rotating body tends to form an oblate spheroid rather than a sphere.

The sun is _always_ active; NASA and NOAA predict that the sun's activity will be about the same between now and 2030 as it was between 2009 and 2020. It's predicted to peak for the current cycle in 2025, but the peak in the cycle before this one was considerably less than average. If you want it to make sense in a better way than I can, NOAA and NASA have a joint mission that is ongoing. I consulted NOAA/weather. gov, but I'm sure there are plenty of ways to reach the facts if one wants them. Unfortunately, the same is not true for Atlantis.

"An equatorial bulge is a difference between the equatorial and polar diameters of a planet, due to the centrifugal force exerted by the rotation about the body's axis" Errr.... NO. It isn't. Certainly not in its entirety. Gravitational attraction to the Sun and the Moon are the main cause of Earth's equatorial bulge. Their mass is literally attracting the mass of Earth at the point closest to the orbital plane. The ocean tides are a more visible expression of this effect on a shorter time scale with a less solid or anchored mass on the planet surface.

Is there anyone watching this that also watched a video called National Parks Secrets and Legends? There was a story about Mt Shasta and beings that were able to manifest and had telepathic abilities to try and lure people to come "home" with them. Indigenous people warned that is wasn't safe to go up past a certain level and people sometimes went missing. Well I had some crazy dreams while up in the mountains of British Columbia in Canada especially a place called Golden, BC. Aliens or some entities with incredible power to cause me to dream the dreams but I'm not entirely sure it wasn't an abduction experience. Atlantis and the alien connection and secrets they show people in Hollywood movies like Cocoon or Star Trek, Star Wars etc. I haven't been able to find that video about the national parks again but it had stories of Joshua Tree, strange occurances in Puerto Rico, the Grand Canyon and more.

The Bermuda triangle is just a roughly triangular area that has more bad weather than the norm for a specific shipping lane - likely due to the prevalence of hurricanes in the Atlantic which often make landfall on the east and south east coasts of the USA. Notice people don't talk about the Bermuda triangle anymore. That's because ships are better made today than they used to be. They can handle rougher weather.

The nature of the universe is much different than we are taught. The earth has gone through untold changes. From pole shifts to complete rearrangements in the solar system. The earth heats and cools, and therefore expands and contracts because of the electromagnetic system it’s a part of. It’s similar to the system that you charge your iPhone or watch on. The Earth stores energy in the form of heat in that process.

Atlantis may have already been found to be honest. There are sunken cities and settlements all over the world. We will also likely continue to find them all over the world. Calling one or the other Atlantis will ultimately come down to academic opinion/consensus some of which may be scientific, reasonable and evidence based but it's not guaranteed. Archaeology is very dogmatic and erroneously get's the final say over everything, they can for example use external experts like geologists but what a geologist argues ultimately must coincide with the opinions of big archaeology who do use science and reason but only when it suits them. The lack of integrity of principles saddens me.

Not to mention that Noah is a plagiarised character from Mesopotamian myth called Ziusudra, Atra-Hasis or Utnapishtim depending on which Mesopotamian culture was writing about it. Much of the old testament/torah of the bible is plagiarised from ancient Mesopotamian and Egyptian sources. The more you study the mythology and literature of both areas, the more it becomes obvious how woefully derivative a work of literature the old testament is.

It also lacks BREAKS between those rings that would match Plato's description. People who harp on about Richat love to reference what matches Plato while ignoring that which does not. Also known as CHERRY PICKING data. To say nothing of existing at an elevation that would be utterly useless for a naval oriented nation without an insane system of canal locks to get ships to and from the city - such a design would be horrifically wasteful in resources for no gain.

Is it though? Or is it no different from the numerous parables found in the bible? Just a story that exists to teach people a lesson about life, or how to think in a different way. Plato was a philosopher - not a historian like his contemporary Herodotus. All of his dialogues known for their philosophical points have the same exact literary format to the 2 dialogues Critias and Timaeus that discuss Atlantis. Therefore those dialogues are in fact philosophical and not historical in nature. It's the simplest logic to debunk this relatively modern myth of Atlantis that was popularised by Ignatius Donnelly. People love to talk about Plato and Atlantis without ever talking about his other literary works because it illustrates the huge flaw in the concept. If you are wondering why Plato would mask his philosophy within a story told within a dialogue between men - then you should probably reference the gruesome death of Socrates who was tried and sentenced to forced poisonign by the Athenian elite for teaching his philosophies openly to the Athenian populace. Plato devised a way to insulate himself from scandal and death by using his dialogues to make his fellow Athenians think without actually saying a word to them from his own lips. (none of the characters in his dialogues are actually called Plato likely for this reason)

Plato is rubbish, he talking about his own theory of Atlantis that's couple thousand years old ,my opinion Atlantis never existed, that's why you can't find one single thing of item or fact to say Atlantis really did exist, my theory is,the closest and known facts that come close to a possible Atlantis, is the island of Santorini, the super volcano that blew up massively, then the Mediterranean sea water filled up that gaping volcano hole and taking 99 percent of that own island civilization with it deep into the the earth via Santorini super volcano hole.anyways that's my theory, because whatever Atlantis was, it never existed,
