Still love my MX Master 1.0, works like a dream after 3 years, the small back/forward buttons were my only complaint so I'll probably be upgrading to this.

3:38 This is disinformation. Both mice have two different scroll wheel configurations, one is "ratcheting" which provides the clicky style scrolling and the other is "smooth" which glides without resistance. You have to have them plugged in and on to change the modes as it's controlled by a robotic clasp inside the mouse housing. They both have the SAME scrolling options you just have the old one setup in the ratcheting config. Either you guys are ignorant which would be a good thing, or you're being disingenuous and are trying to advertise for Logitech that the new one is better so people go out and spend money on it. C'mon now.

I used a MX 2 during lock down which I borrowed from my cousin. When I went back to my office I was shocked how uncomfortable a regular mouse was. Everytime you'll use a regular mouse again after that experience you'll notice how much better the MX series is. Just the fast scrolling is such a convenient feature I'm honestly surprised how not every mouse has that. Would definately pay 100$ for this. worth every penny.

Lew does not know about mx2 momentum scrolls? And logitech option is exactly the same.

The mx performance, mx master and mx2 all have the ability to change scrolling speed. Logitech flow requires all logitech devices. Synergy works with all the devices. Owner of mx revolution, mx performance, mx master and mx master 2s.

So basically just minor upgrades... and the price is a little bit steep. I bought the MX Master when the 2S was already out at a significant discount. I am extremely happy with it, and it looks cooler i think with the gold accents that the newer versions. As for the “uncomfortable” back and forwards buttons... i call total bs... you get used to them very easily... i use them on a daily basis and they are very easy to use.

I bought the MX Master 3, and it's an awesome mouse! Works very well in a DAW with the horizontal scroll wheel. My only complaint is that you have to lift the mouse an press the button to switch PCs if you are not using the options software, and I can't seem to assign any mouse button to switch PCs. Other than than, well worth the money.

@@vornamenachname6294 Yeap, heck even the MX Master Amazon edition (rebranded v.1) has this feature. And it's not like the software will not let him know about it, he just blemishes the old mouse on purpose.

I had the MX Master 2S and I switched to the MX Master 3. I couldn't be happier with the switch, it's so much more comfortable than its predecessor. The most impressive features I can see is the wheel(which feels so much better than the 2S), and the ergonomics of the mouse. It feels much more like my heretical mouse . 10/10 would buy again

You can change between the clicky scrollwheel and the smooth version on both mice. C'mon man. A lot of the features are similar as well. You can remap most of the buttons and include gestures as well. And you can do the whole copy paste on different PCs with the 2. It's called Logitech Flow. Not discrediting the MX Master 3 (I'm probably gonna purchase it even though I have the MX Master 2) but you definitely overhyped it.

Yep, the differences between the new and the older one beside the design are the thumb buttons placement, type C fast charging and the Master 3 using magnetic scroll mechanism vs the ratchet on the the previous models.

Yep, I'm using my 2s at the moment and nothing seems worth the upgrade. The separated back/forward buttons is cool, but the Options software is the same and the wheel can scroll silently too

Whats crazy is this looks more like the very first MX Master ever released by them which I will always say is the best one. Haven't picked an MX master since they changed designed. Probably going to pick this up to test.

The Master 2S has a clicky scroll when not paired, but when it's paired, you can choose between click or smooth, or set it to auto, where a flick switches to smooth. I wish these came with the Lightspeed receivers, I just can't go back after making that jump.

The biggest improvement other than usb c is the forward back buttons and the side scroll wheel. I'm fairly upset that I picked up a mx master 2s just 3 months ago with this dropping. I have some light nerve damage in my left thumb and have very little feeling on the pad which makes using the 2s's crammed side button/wheel setup a pain. They've had the multiple PC gimmick since the master 2, I can do it with mine but there are also many different programs like spacedesk that'll do the same thing.

the problem of set to auto is, when it stop, it make a "breaking" sound. It not loud, but when you use it in office, you may scroll and stop a lot of time, and it can be very annoying for me and my colleagues. I hope Logitech have a better solution for the problem in this version. Beside of it, the MX Master 2S is perfect.

However the bumpy scroll mode should feel very different considering the Master 3 uses magnets to simulate bumps. I was very curious to see Lew share his opinion but got disappointed in the end - he just compared the bumpy mode of the MX 2 vs the smooth mode of the 3. The whole review was kind of badly done.

Totally agree Nond Nonnie. If Willy Do really uses v2 he would have known about the button next to wheel to make it smooth scroll. Also the software mouse cursor movement between OS's I use with v2. Very poor review between the 2 versions, either ignorant or deception? Either way misleading viewer's. Come on guys step up your game. & Do we have to cut to Willie Do for prices and specs ? I don't tune in to watch Willie Do.

Everything that the MX Master 3 does, the 2S does too. The only difference between them is the change in ergonomics and the ability to quick charge using USB C.

And the exposed button for the thumb(gestures), that will prevent it to fail like mine after 1 year of use. The older one just to get locked and registering a click, disabling the mouse to work. With that button I guess you'll have better response on clicking. 🤷‍♂️

Honestly when I got my 2S, the fact it wasn't USB-C bothered me, but I've been using it for 4 straight months, 8 hours a day and have only charged it twice. Not a massive difference in the long run

@@LesTutosdUneMinute I contacted Logitech, they send me a new one, the second one is almost a year and a half and no problems. Logitech have a great post sales service, that's makes me stay with the brand. I think I'll go for the Mx3 but after a price drop. I use mine for work 8 hours a day and still rocking. That's for the tip anyways 😉.

its all about forward backword button placement (Which I think should have been this way from the start) and shape of mouse. Everything else is the same. They will most likely price it same too. No need to switch from your existing master 2s but if you are buying this first time I'd go with newer one.

I have the older one and one charge is good for a month, I don't see the importance of the quickcharge. The older one had the bug over windows of loosing the scroll time to time, happy that they fixed it.

Dude, I like what you guys are doing with your camera switching, the interplay between Lou and Will.... alot better guys - this video was a turning point. I actually laughed out loud at the interactions you guys have here. The tech took a back seat, and for me, is the way a show with tech should be. The tech was there, you talked about it, but you guys are the show. I'd come back to see you guys talk about tech more because of that. Well done.

I've tested this, the G903 and the MX Anywhere 3. The Master 3 is by far the best of the three for my hand. I have a 16.5 cm hand for reference. G903 is bigger and much less ergonomic. Literally awkward and painful in the hand. The Anywhere is a good fingertip mouse, but I can fingertip control the Master as well. For me the only advantage of the anywhere is that it's ambidextrous which I need due to shoulder imbalance affecting my fitness training.

Key difference between the two, is that the 2S has a hardware issue with its gesture button where it can get stuck making the mouse unusable, altough it's an easy fix at home taking 4-5min to take apart and fix, it's still kinda annoying, glad they fixed the issues on the MX 3 one.

Btw that software is available for a lot of cheaper logitech mice

The 2S has most of this stuff. The Logitech flow and the smooth scroll and everything. The main difference was the side buttons and grip style

i just got the Mx3 and have to say that is freaking awesome! i tried a bunch of other mouse recently plus having had some pain on my hand (after long hours with a smaller mouse) i wanted the best, and this seems to be it.

I've been using the 'MX' line of Logitech mice for getting on 15 years now, since the MX Revolution in 2006, the Performance MX n 2009, and the Master range since 2015. They're phenomenal mice, and really helps keep my RSI in check.

Smooth scrolling is on the 2s, gesture button is on the 2s so is the program specific profiles... Flow is also on the 2s copy, desktop to desktop it's all existing features from the 2s.

Yup. New shape, type-C charging, and the changes to the side scroll roller and the forward/back buttons are the only real *new* things. I'm probably going to upgrade, but I know it's nowhere near as big of a deal as they make it out to be here.

@@Kvantum I won't upgrade for a while, I got my 2s for 80% off in a deal, it's not worth the cost yet lol.

I have had my MX 2 as daily CAD mice, and it has lasted about 1 year. I am considering that I am using this outdoor frequently. Like how right-click button is extended.

Lou, I know that you know that the previous generations of the MX Master also had an unlockable scroll wheel. You've mentioned it in all your previous videos about the MX master series.

I've been using this for two years, is very awesome mouse, I had the magic mouse (1 & 2) before, and it only cause me pain in the wrist, this one however is very comfortable, a lot more ergonomic.

I have MX anywhere 2 (smaller version of the Master)... Heavy user of the gestures... Perfect for work environment... Almost 2-3 years old and I am still charging it once a month for like 2-3-4 hours. IT'S AMAZING!!!

Thanks so much for this video. I just wanted to check if you are facing any scroll issues when you lift the mouse from the pad. I'm planning to buy this mouse but I've read a lot of forums which talk about issues with scrolling when the mouse is lifted up. Also the switching between ratchet scrolling mode and smooth scrolling is not that great apparently. Have you noticed any such issues with your mouse?

I use the MX Master since the first one. Its always been my favorite. Really worth the price. I also have a magic mouse for my macbook but after a while, my hand is really cramped.

Thanks for the review. I actually bought this mouse after watching this review. Long time user of the MX Revolution, have repaired it a few times but the left click switch finally failed and I don't care to solder new switches to it. I have been using this for almost a week and I thought some might find this useful. The Logi Options software has horribly limited button mapping options, for instance I loved the button above the scroll wheel to highlight and google search whatever text I want. This option is not available not just for this button but for all buttons. No option seems to exist. Can't understand why, maybe some advanced option I can use to remap this but haven't found it anywhere in the software. It is also VERY uncomfortable. To be perfectly clear, it is THE MOST uncomfortable mouse I have EVER used. My hand was cramping so bad today after light use that I had to pull out the 3 button mouse I was using after my MX Rev finally died RIP. I have tried different gripping positions etc but my hand all the way up through my forearm get tired from using it. My index finger seems to want to sit over the scroll wheel as opposed to over the left click button. I tried playing my favorite MMO with it and it was almost impossible because of this. I know it is not a "gaming" mouse but I used to use my MX rev for WoW as a healer all the time with no issues in a top raid team with many realm first. The problem seems to be that I can't access all the buttons fluidly without repositioning my hand. The 2 side buttons are a bit to far back they naturally seem to sit below my thumb knuckle. If I try to use my thumb tip to press them I have to pull my thumb back that extra 1/4" and start to feel hand fatigue faster. Its nearly impossible for me to use the "gesture" button without repositioning my hand so its essentially a dead button for me. I can reach the button but again I have to pull my right thumb so far back to hit it that I start to feel sore in my hand and forearm. The side scroll is just way to easy to move as well, there is no kind of resistance, if you touch it just slightly it is registering a "press". I would have loved to have this mapped to zoom in and out las I used a button on my MX Revolution for the same function as I zoom a lot on a daily basis for the work I do with it. I had to rethink this very quickly do to the ease of it moving. I mapped it to side scroll which I occasionally use but its still way too sensitive for this. A ratcheting for this wheel for some tactile feedback would be amazing. I will probably return this mouse and look elsewhere.

Buuuut on the 2s when you turn of the scroll lock it makes zero noise 🤷🏽‍♂️

I have had this problem for over a year. Great product however with the recent mac update a lot of people have been experiencing lag issues. :(

Not worth updating at all, all those software features are available for the old version as well. Plus there is no need to charge via USB c, the old version is charging fast aswell. Further, you can change the scroll behavior using the button which is under the scroll wheel to make it feel fluent. The flow feature is available for the old version as well... You should deal with the product before comparing it, people are going to waste 100$

@Thatshow ED At the time I wrote this comment there was a pretty wide gap between the cost of each mouse.

This is a hell of a ride for a mouse unboxing.

Finally since the release of this video I received mine today. If I never watched I would never know! It outperformed my expectations in every way. It is under sold here.

Left handed people are like.... Yeah, 10$ mice are fine too

I’m a lefty and I still use right handed mice for gaming and regular use mostly cause good mice are right only D: if I started using lefty mice I would probably be even better than I already am oof.

I'm a southpaw and never used a left handed mouse. I find left hand is better controlling movements on a keyboard.

Sswineamer69 I think using a left hand mouse would be more stable if we used it. Or personally for me it would feel more stable but so much stuff is made for right hand people and literally everything everywhere is mostly for right handed people so that’s a rip.

Every feature mentioned except for the magnetic scroll is already on the 2S. And one thing I'm worried about is manipulating 3D objects with the middle mouse button, how accurate will that be without a ratchet?

I'm curious about that as well. I guess it would depend on how strong the magnets inside are to create "bumps" with enough resistance in the movement of the wheel.

No they are not. Usb c fast charging, better back and forwards button, new gesture button, better ergonomics. Why are you saying bullshit when you never even used the mouse.

Just bought mine today. Coming off the G502 Hero dealing with that double click issue. The MX Master 3 is a sound investment.
