I always liked the old CoD games. The criticisms of copy paste were largely valid for multiplayer, but I liked the campaign (and later, zombies) and mostly bought them to play the closest thing to an action movie in video game form that you could get. Now you can't even get that experience...

I wouldn't go as far as to say that "games" in general have fallen in quality. It's just the big dads of the AAA shithole that prioritize licking the boots of their shareholders & investors as well as keep their pockets full at the cost of delivering a "worse-than-bare-minimum" product. The AA & indie scene is doing just fine. These devs are the ones actually innovating while the AAA just feeds off the indie scene

This killed what little hope I had left for this franchise. This seems like it's suffering from Spider-Man Syndrome where the first entry is absolutely fantastic and checks every box and then some when it comes to quality open world AAA gaming, but then the sequel comes along in a drunken stupor and fumbles the ball more than the modern Miami Dolphins, and falls flat on its face in front of everyone.

I watched the new No Russian and couldn't believe it. One of the most amazing moments in modern gaming and they pissed all over it.

Remember when campaigns were supposed to be worth 1/3 of the game? The og mw3 had mixed reviews, but at least they had a cool villain with high stakes if he lives or dies. Like he almost started ww3 and killed millions! While this new makarov wants a new, old russia and goes for.... Uzbekistan? Nothing against the country, but given the context the story is supposed to have, i very much doubt that they can somehow turn the story around for freaking ww3, while doing a second russian afghanistan, just with pmcs this time. Its just boring, and shows that bobby cocktick probably just wanted a last quick paycheck before he leaves

There was more work put into this video than the latest COD.

It's funny that Activision has managed to repeat itself with both "Modern Warfare" trilogies for me. I thought the first one was good and had a fun time with the multiplayer, thought the second one was mid (I actually never even completed the remake's campaign because I thought it was so boring), and completely avoided the third one because I knew it would just be trash. Gotta give them props for consistency.

It just repeat the history MW19 is a major tech leap from IW, much like COD4 toward COD2 MW23 is a major update of MW22 sold with full price, much like MW3 toward MW2.

Last time I played a CoD campaign was the one where you're called Soap? I think? It's the one where the ending killed someone very liked by the community, barely giving me an impression. Then again, haven't played a CoD since blops (the first one) so that this video popped up in my recommended out of nowhere was indeed a surprise. Seems like nothing is different from back then, haha.

Basically, just play the original trilogy.
