Dot's just her nickname. It's easier than saying Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Bananafana Bobesca the Third every time.

I actually used Yakko's World to pass a Geography test in high school. I first would label all of the countries in the song, and then only have to study and remember the missing or updated countries. I'd call that educational. Unfortunately, I've forgotten most of it now being 5 years later. I used to be quite proud of that skill.

theres one problem with this "the animations tricked the government into thinking it was teaching kids anything" premise, the act of what the Animaniacs "teach" its self may not be fully education, but it does promote "Tangential Learning" or simply the process making kids interested in looking this stuff up themselves without being forced too, which is arguably entertainments greatest education strength and the Animaniacs style of humor hits that nail on the head

@@realzener1918 Yes. Just because weird things happen to him doesn't mean he's experiencing a drug trip, sometimes it just means weird things are happening to him. And the fact that you're pointing out he works a basic blue-collar job and used to work a different basic blue-collar job in your list to pad it out shows you're grasping at straws. The whole "Mario's shrooms are magic mushrooms and the entire game is a drug trip" joke was worn out in 1986, a full year before _I_ was born. There's nothing new about pointing it out and hasn't been for 30 years.

It's actually a 3 Season Reboot. Season 3 was greenlit a month or so ago.

Animaniacs was always by far the most educational show for kids, they just didn't always teach the lessons that TV executives wanted them to. They taught kids about hidden agendas behind entertainment and how lazy and stupid adults are part of the very systems that imprisons them.

I originally thought that "Animaniacs" was and "old" show that Americans had seen, but had been in a vault for years before coming to TV in the UK. This make more sense now that Ed has explained the use of older songs re-written for the show and the use of the "fictional nostalgia".

"If you do drugs, you'll go to hell, before you die." That's deep

One of my favorite get it by the censors moments is in the Animaniacs "A Quake A Quake" song about the Northridge Earthquake, where they show a sidewalk being destoryed while singing "Whose fault? Whose fault? The San Andreas' fault 'Cause Mister Richter, can't predict her Kicking our asphalt!" Which could be heard as "kicking our ass fault"

Watching this video reminds me about how much I love and miss orchestrated music. It used in tons of cartoons from the very beginning of sound in cartoons all the way through the 1990’s, but began to die out in the 2000’s. Nowadays, Animaniacs 2020 is one of only three American cartoons that still uses orchestrated music, with the other two being The Simpsons and Family Guy. The last completely new animated series that used orchestrated music was Nickelodeon’s Harvey Beaks, and that was six years ago!

They aren't called "totally insaney" for nothing.

It's not just a list. It also shows you where each country is located. My friend's 8 year old son memorized the song and it made him actually take interest in geography. He now knows way more about geography than the average person and of course the inaccuracies of the lyrics.

Nations of the World is constantly evolving - like the Periodic Table Song... Didn't know Pokémon Season One killed Animaniacs either!!

More like, the cheapness at which Pokemon could be imported killed it. From my research, in the late 90's and early 00's Japanese companies sold rights for their IP for cheap because their audience was only Japan and they only saw that selling as a small side extra.

It just goes to show how good the animaniacs as a show is! I personally didn't grow up with it but was so exited to watch the reboot, that in turn led me to listen to the songs and watch the original series. My favourite song is Macadamia nut.

I was just in the shower when I saw I needed to fasten my seatbelt so I did, and I have you to thank for that.

Not gonna lie, I used the US state capitols song to study for a high school test. It was just an extra credit section, but I was doing poorly in the class and the 10 extra credit points really helped

The train at 3:15 is a streamlined Pennsylvania Railroad K4. These engines in this shroud were called "Torpedos". The number of wheels and whistle sound is off however, as they had steam whistles, not horns.

For me, the geography song's reach is most shown in the fact that it's still used in online things that have little, or nothing, to do with this series, but is used simply because it would be known by the readers in large part. For instance, this is an excerpt from SCP-674, an NES Zapper that lets you shoot characters and people on television, fictional or real. Science theories that are considered common place and most likely true can be proven to be completely wrong.
