The Mountains Are Calling and I Must Photograph Them
I head to the mountains for a landscape photography adventure. The conditions are difficult and treacherous with deep snow and blizzard conditions as I try to make it to the top to capture a photograph worthy of printing.

in my opinion, this the best video you've ever done Adam. Your images were phenomenal, but the big victory was the storytelling and pacing that replicated the feeling of going on similar adventures. Being pulled outside, the tranquility, pushing on, the excitement, and enduring the elements with a smile on your face. Bravo and please keep it up

@They Caged Non he’s a great mate too 👍😃
The second image is absolutely phenomenal 👍👍👍
Stunning lake image your a very brave man to go alone.
Thanks for taking all of us on the journey with you. Many people just don't realize that the journey gives you time to think about what you want to produce in the shots that become available to you. I love the minimal post effects work you did with your last shot.
The weather was just perfect for you, that second image is a true gem.
So beautiful! A skiff of snow and cold fresh air. No thing better! And as usual a wonderful video and photos from you!
Fantastic mate! Highlights winter landscape photography perfectly and shows such a beautiful part of Britain.
Brilliant shots Adam well worth the struggle in that horrible weather
Marvelous Adam. I know the song of the Mountains well- I live in them here in eastern Oregon. The Strawberries and the Whites are out my back door. The Blues and the Cascades but a couple hours away. The iconic peaks (Hood, Rainier, Adams) are not far away. The weather can be ferociously brutal but rewarding. Love your images. Thanks for sharing. Live the Song!!
Lovely shot despite the challenging conditions. Thanks.
Absolutely stunning, Adam! The images and the story behind how you got them. I agree with Paul Johnson, this is exactly what landscape photography is all about.
Fabulous image well done. I was starting worry for your safety as the weather closed in, but then realised I wouldn't be watching your video if something had gone wrong!

Just exactly what was going through in my head!!
Thank you for showing the world to us... Excellent work of art!!!
Man. I hope you see this because even though others might have said it i wanna let you know myself that your channel is an absolutely beautiful and wholesome thing. It just makes me LOVE photography more and more with every video i watch. Keep it going mate
Possibly my fave youtube vid this year, dramatic and fulfilling to watch, with incredible images to boot. Hard work paid off. Great job!!
Just simply WOW
That introduction was so dramatic and well put together and your videos just keep getting better and better, keep up the good work.
You .. Sir ... are an inspiration. Plain and simple. You are honest and relatable. For that, you should pat yourself on the back and I will raise a glass in your honor. Being “human” is often frowned upon these days, but IMO, you appear to tell things as they are. This is sincerely appreciated. Keep up the wonderful work and I wish the best for you, your extended family ... and your friends. Cheers 👍
Dad should be proud of you.....legacy in action.
Adam, I discovered what you meant about how snow simplifies an image. I found myself drawn to taking an image of a small stream in the snow last week, having walked past it hundreds of times before. Without the snow, it is lost amid all the myriad knotted vegetation and tree saplings but, in the snow, the stream stood out and I found my eye following it as far as I could see, which made me want to photograph it. I only had my phone with me, as I was walking our dog. The point where it emerges from the ground made a strong foreground element, then the stream itself led the eye all the way through the image. Two days later, with the snow melted, the stream just blended into the background again.
Beautiful day. Just one thing, much better than using crampons is to take a pair o snowshoes. In fact, there is no point in using crampons on that deep soft snow. You could hurt yourself easily. Absolutely great shots. Watching them it feels that you do love to be there on the mountains. Stay safe. Cheers.
Absolutely stunning shot. Good effort for not giving up despite the Great British weather.
".... I want see mountains Gandalf..." 😁😉👍💪🍂🌨️
Amazing journey and awesome fortitude! Thanks for taking us along. Great as always.
Just awesome! Breathtaking.
💯% your best EVER vlog Adam. 🙌
Awesome Adam. Breathtakingly beautiful.
Stunning shots! Very pleasing composition that last one.
I love your channel and the way you look at your art and nature. It inspires me and gives me confidence in my own vision. It helps me own my art and feel secure in finding what pleases me and fills me up. At 65 I won’t be hiking in the mountains during the winter but I still have plenty beautiful opportunities near me in Northern California. Thank you for doing what you do and sharing your journey with us. You’ve made my 2020 better 😉
Another great vlog Adam. You certainly have a love for the mountains, much the same that I have a love for the sea. Your tenacity to climb up the mountains, especially in those conditions, is to be applauded. Loved the last image of the two lakes, it was a "Banger" mate. Keep up the good work.
Great video Adam. Those shots look well worth the price of admission. Kudos to you for taking that trip and sticking with it despite the weather.
It was well worth it. Beautiful image. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome video! I find all of your videos inspiring, but this one was over the top. Fantastic intro. Your genuine love of what you do comes thru so strong. Keep up the great work!
I live near the ocean, I couldn't live far from it, but I miss a little bit of snow and relief. This place is wonderful, the scenary is gorgeous ! A truly well deserved shot ! Congratulations !
Amazing conditions
Great video Adam, absolutely stunning images, love, love, love 😍😍😍

Hi Adam, you had the pain but got the gain, great shots. Pleased you got back OK. Thanks for sharing. All the best.....Peter.
Absolutely fabulous video and amazing shot at the end! Love it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Antarctic video !! Captures me... enough said...
Just wow! I love it!
Occasionally there are vlogs that inspire, and this is definitely one of them. Thankyou so much Adam! Felt like I was with you every step of the way. See you out there!
Brilliant effort Adam. Ending with the shot of the day, truly beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing again Adam. Stay safe.
The first vlog of this winter that I have watched and wow Adam, I couldn't have watched a better one. Those images were wonderful especially the first two and can imagine you would have a big smile on your face seeing them roll off the printer.
As always. Fantastic video! Thanks!
What a shot! Worth the effort.
Great scenery! 👍Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your snowy mountain adventure and the resulting wonderful images.
I live in north east China. We get snow every winter consistently. It’s a freezing place not far from the Russian border. This year, we have none. Nights of -15c, days at 0c highest. No. Snow. Waaaaaaagh. I’m jealous of you!
Amazing.. loved it. Shows your true passion and dedication. love your videos Adam & such a stunning image captured.
Hard conditions, fair play 😎
Thanks for sharing this Adam. A wonderful video. Loved it.
This video got mi heart pounding of excitement wanting to be up in the mountains. What a great shot! Thank you for the inspiration Adam.
Stunning photos......📸🌈
Absolutely amazing I can just see your smile when that image came out of that printer :-) 👌
You are always inspiring ...
Brilliant video Adam, your best to date.
I love love love the snow. Grate video grate photo. Thank you.👍
Inspiring words Thank you for the video
beautyful images !!!GOD BLESS !!
Absolutely epic both images!
Outstanding!
Great story. The great effort of getting out to the location concluded in two great photographs. Love your work. Keep sharing those adventures.
Got to say, this is one of your very best videos mate! Brilliant stuff, looking forward to the next.
My god i think i am in love with that final image of the black lake ....... absolutely stunning 📷♥️♥️♥️
What a great video, and that last shot was stunning
Brilliant video - What a view!
The Mountains are calling and I must go, has been the mantra in my family for years, that is why we live in the flatist place in WI, hahaha. Great images.
Stunning images Adam and that location looked absolutely beautiful. I'm watching you knee deep in snow while sitting in 35°C heat on the east coast of Australia. Love your work and especially your dedication.
Stunning shots at the end of the video really admire your dedication getting there to get the shot it looked soooooooooooo cold nice one.
What a great introduction to your video, outstanding! You can imagine that I am jealous of the location where you filmed this. In this small frog country, the Netherlands, we do not have 1 mountain but VERY modest, small hills. Finally another great video of you with beautiful photos that only invite you to come to England when the virus is away from this world. Thanks for this.
Lovely video mate! Very well put together with some stunning images
This weeks video one of your best Adam. Some cracking images. It did look brutal towards the end but as a true landscape photographer you stuck in there. I so miss the winters. 👍🏻 David - Brisbane 🇦🇺
Fantastic - great work
Fantastic seeing you out in the mountains again! The weather might of been rough towards the end, but I bet you loved every minute? Love the images
Take some ski goggles with you next time. Like a low light contrast type. And a ski mask. You would not have had those issues if you did.
A fantastic presentation. Thank you
great video.. the images you got were stunning, well done for braving the elements you were truly rewarded
Fantastic, inspirational !!! whish i was there.
Great video Adam, moving and inspirational
Epic image. And a great watch - thank you....
Fantastic, and well rewarded for you following the calling! Love that image Adam.
I must say Adam that is a quality piece of work and I’m sure it was worth getting battered by the weather for such a fantastic outcome 👏👏👏 I wish I had you’re surroundings on my doorstep, I would quite happily lose myself for hours up there
Tnx for taking us along, nice photos. Maybe next time you can tell us a bit about how you post-processed the final image. Stay safe and healthy.
I have just started my Sunday (HK time) right, with this great video. Thank you mate !
This is on another level, great video, storytelling and the image at the end. Splendid!
Great episode man! Jealous of that snow. I live in some truly amazing mountains here in sw New Mexico, but we're lucky if we get snow once a year, lol. That last image was beautiful.
Great image! Worth the pain. Thanks for sharing
What an amazing inspiring video Adam! Love it!!!
What a great shot!!
Amazing video as always, videos like these inspire me not to give up on photography, hoping next year i'll be going to the lake district in summer,
I don’t love the cold but this video makes me want to get to the mountains! I’ll be there in a few weeks!!
Amazing 🙌🙌 that just shows commitment to get one shot !! But wow, what a shot it is.
Great video as always Adam stay safe and well 👍👍
That is a great piece of filming resulting in a wonderful film.. I'm a longtime subscriber and that ranks as one of your best, two stunning images but the second takes the biscuit.. brilliant Adam!
Hello Adam, a very relatable and emotional video. One that resonates with me. Wonderful, I’d even go as far to say one of your best videos, with one of your best shots. Thank you 👍
Excellent video. Snowshoes, perhaps? They'll allow you much more mobility in deeper snowpack.
That is some rough weather, but two beautiful shots with it! Great one again!
