    Purchased the design and immediately made the wallet! A great design , leather needs at least a medium temper and for closure I used magnetic inserts. Great design , rivets are an excellent design and functional feature.

    If you want this wallet, you can get the "Gun Deck Mini", which is pretty much the same but with thread instead of rivets. @James You could shield the cards you don't want to be read by those new machines, aluminium foil in between the cards might do the trick. 3:24

    Just finished making myself one and I'm obsessed with it. It was the first time I made something out of leather where I really took my time and finished the edges and inside and waxed the leather. I just can't stop taking it out of my pocket to look at it. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Where did u buy this exact piece of leather

  • @JamesKGraves

    @JamesKGraves

    It’s the Laredo Crazy Horse from Tandy. Honestly it’s not a great wallet leather; it’s soft and difficult to burnish, but it’s cheap so I use it for prototypes. In this case, it actually happened to work because the design is inherently rigid, and I’ve been using the wallet ever since. In general, though, I’d usually go with a 3-4oz veg tan for wallets

    What would be the card capacity of this wallet

  • @JamesKGraves

    @JamesKGraves

    3 ай бұрын

    Approximately 5-7 cards + a few folded bills, while still being able to get everything out easily. Maybe a little more if you jam them in, and depending on the leather you use

    Straight up copied the gundeck and flipped it. lol I get that almost no or very few customers will get that. But I wonder you as a leathercrafter feel shitty about just copying one of the most popular around.

    I’d never heard of the Gun Deck until you mentioned it. You’re right, it’s similar; I guess there’s only so many ways to fold a single piece of leather into a rectangle…
