The most value rich luxury watch brand? GO SeaQ Chrono

Ойын-сауық

Many watch collectors would name Glashutte Original and Grand Seiko as the brands that offer the most watch for the money at the luxury price segment. The dials, the details, the movements, the hand finishing, etc. are all so good. In this video I show a SeaQ Chronograph as an example of this quiet luxury value. Is GO the most value rich? I think so.

My casual and sporty lifestyle makes splurging on a Lange nonsensical. But I have been considering adding a more affordable GO dress watch to my collection to scratch that Glashutte itch.

What is collecting watches all about? Buying with your brain or buying with your heart. Brain says Daytona 100% (if you can get one for a reasonable price), but your heart........ If you hold a GO for the first time in your hands, you will know the answer😊. Greetings from Germany❤ and thx for the video.

I've got the GO senator excellence white dial with the caliber 36, 100 hrs power reserve. It's a beautiful watch from the front with a porcelain dial to the back with the swan neck regulator. Really can't speak highly enough of it. It comes down to the individual and what they want from their watch , but, you can certainly make a compelling argument to buy this brilliant German brand.

In terms of craftsmanship, finishing and general quality, this is way above a Rolex Daytona but brand caché and the familiar design trump all of that to most it appears. As far as their clasps/bracelets - yes they definitely beat Grand Seiko, hands down imo. I'd go for the GO all day if I had the budget. What an exquisite sports chronograph it is!

I’ve bought a GO Panograph in steel 20 yrs ago. It’s got panaroma date & flyback chronograph function. It’s still working perfectly with precision of accuracy not below 99.99%. I enjoy it’s manual wind movement every day & it’s a pleasure.

I have two GO near vintage Sport Evolution GMTs - 1 on a tactical textile strap and the other on a SS bracelet. Love them both. GO came out with the FIRST quick adjust ratchet bracelet which Rolex then came out with their own type modeled after the GO.

Hello, and thanks for this video. GO is, as you say, a bit underrated. But it will change, as for german brands in general. From Nomos to A. Lang & Sohne, from Junghans to GO, a lot of german brands worth the price (which is, sadly, less and less usual with Swiss brands).

Very cool, SQ is a cool watch, not my fav among divers in and around that price range, but a nice watch. Definitely can't knock it. I really like GO's dressier watches though. Hoping to see them in person at some point soon, maybe at another youtuber's new b&m. Great point about the name recognition. I'm definitely one of those guys that fell into the "I want the name first, and then i'll expand into lesser knows"....

Big Glashutte Original fan. My next planned watch purchase is actually the Glashutte Original SeaQ Panorama Date Bicolor. Despite already having a diver, that being the Fifty Fathoms 5015 titanium. I'm saving for the G.O. as we speak. And at some point in the future I'll be having a look at the Senator collection, but that's a few years off. And I don't own nor have I ever owned any Rolex, though I wouldn't say no to an Explorer 40; but that'd be the only one.

Another reason they’re not so well known or purchased is accessibility. I love the brand, look at them all of the time online but there are no boutiques anywhere close to where I live and I’m in NY. The only time I’ve seen them in the metal is a small shop at Frankfurt international airport while on layover. They are beautifully made and would love to own one yet I possess 2 Rolex’s, omega, Tudor, grand seiko etc because the AD’s are 15 minutes away. Some Glashutte models are fairly large and I would definitely need to try them on but there are many models I love in their lineup.

Love the quality of the GO, was very close to buying one some( the bicolor one )years ago, without chrono though ( who uses the chronograph? Really?). The thing that made me not buy the GO was the minutehand, really dont like the ”arrow” and I am not to fond of the bezel either. Otherwise a fantastic watch far far nicer than any Rolex ( had four of them, sold them all) good watches but ”everyone” has one.

As for the reason why Glashutte is not as popular in my opinion is for two main reasons: 1. Lots of people buy watches based on what others buy 2. People will often turn toward Rolex for watches over US$10k - which also explains why Rolex claimed an all-time high $11.4 billion revenue in 2023

Gs should take a field trip down to the casio factory where they make the MRG watches, because i have the MRG B5000B1 black square and the titanium bracelet is so much better then anything GS makes. You would think by now GS would get it by now Their bracelets suck. I had this watch, but not the chrono, but with the blue dial and it did nothing for me in person once i receievd from the AD. GO has been around since or before WW2, so they arent a new company Bruce

Yet to purchase yet but love this brand especially the pano and vintage collections . The dive collection are amazing too but not for me as its crossed the line of being too luxury for the tool watch it's supposed to be . GO arent that popular as most watch buyers dont know they exist or buy watches to " show off" to other non eatxh people so buy submariner speedy or seamaster which are literslly 10 a penny on peoples wrists . I like that only people who know what's on my wrist are the people who know watxhes , which is why my collection is mostly little known brands to general public nomos, sinn etc
