You definitely get extra ”points” for actually buying many of these when they came out and supporting the vinyl format in the dark ages!

Thanks, I really appreciate the video. Really made me start to think. I guess according to Discogs I have an AC/DC album…an import version of “High Voltage”. Apparently it’s worth more than I thought. I would never sell it. I bought that album for probably $7.00 when I was 16, it used to be fun making a trip to the record store, getting our concert tickets for $9.00 for two bands, check out our new albums, and get some incense. Ahh, the 70’s!
I also have that Tool record. Bought in September 1996 a couple weeks before the CD was released.
Awesome list. I love your collection of 90s rock stuff. that mad Season is awesome they are all awesome!

I know money is a kinda a gouche subject. However, I think its interesting to understand the value of some of these records people may have in their collections without realizing it. Knowledge about variations and the differences between whats valuable or not is important. Please keep doing these. Your expertise as a record store owner is much appreciated.

Appreciate it David!
Your most valuable record shouldn’t be based on value. It should be the one that you hold closest to your heart, the one that you have deep emotional attachment too. One that’s tied to a memory or moment in your life that you experienced, and one that reminds you of something/someone special. I open every album I buy, it’s just sad to see such a fine piece of music be kept sealed up.

A Top 10 of actual albums I have heard of and dig. I’ve watched plenty of these videos and most of them are stuff I’d never heard of. Lost Dogs is a gem.

@@NTXVinyl my wallet is lighter. If I was closer or the wife wasn’t with me would have bought more. Lol. Really wanted that Rolling Stone Circus bootleg but bought a few others I don’t see ever too. Choices choices
Great and nice Lp
I feel, since they’re doing a 30th anniversary reissue of AIC’s Dirt next month, we’ll be getting a 30th anniversary reissue of the self-titled record down the line.

I sure hope so!
Hi, do you know of any A/D devices to convert LP's to music files? I checked your site already, Didn't see any hardware (though I did find some records I want to order) so thought I' ask if you know of anything I could use. Thx
Strong list!

Is there a chance you have any original pressings of Swans albums?
You might have answered this in other videos previously (sorry) but what frames do you use for your records that you have displayed?
@NTXVinyl
Жыл бұрын
They are just standard LP display frames
Are the Mad Season and Tool albums cut-outs? They still maintain their value when they have been marked? Wow...
@NTXVinyl
Жыл бұрын
Yes. Both cutouts. And yeah…for rare albums like that a cutout isn’t going to be a deal breaker for anyone.

@@NTXVinyl thx! Strange to see these albums as cutouts though. Somebody didn't buy them back then ;)
One mans trash is anothers treasure. I sold my really rare stuff to buy more records. That's the game.
Many of my most valuable records are not about dollar value but about enjoyment. That is why I buy vinyl, so I agree with BG Exclusive bellow. When I discover a title that becomes a favorite for a bargain...even better.

I think you're the first person to say In Utero is Nirvana's best. I thought I was the only one

It’s easily my favorite. Has a really unique vibe because of the production and how the band was evolving towards the tail end.
70-80 OG normally sound better than reissued. Earlier 50-60 records were made for more low quality record players...
Better buy 2 - so one can stay sealed.

Actually, no. I make a point to not watch others because then you just end up regurgitating ideas. Not saying this hasn’t been done, it’s not even my first version of it. Dylan seems like a great dude though, and I’m sure his most valuable LPs put mine to shame 😂
My top 10 most valuable according to Discogs… $462.00 Appetite For Destruction: Locked N’ Loaded Box Set - Guns N’ Roses $139.50 Almost Famous Soundtrack (deluxe 6lp) $128.15 The Capitol Albums - The Band $77.48 The Complete Mercury Albums - Johnny Cash $74.99 Dr. Feelgood (Newbury Lmt. Ed. 10,000) - Motley Crue $67.28 Salem’s Lot Soundtrack $64.78 It Television Soundtrack (Pennywise Suit) $60.00 Townes Van Zandt $50.00 Shotgun Willie(VMP) - Willie Nelson $49.99 At Folsom Prison(VMP) - Johnny Cash

The only really great one there, as far as the musical content goes, and the actual artifact is the first one. The Stooges. The others, meh.

People have different tastes. And to be fair out of all the upper midwest bands The Stooges end up being one of the least interesting. If playing that holier than thou game I'll take The DelVettes, The Litter, or Unrelated Segments.
