You definitely get extra ”points” for actually buying many of these when they came out and supporting the vinyl format in the dark ages!

Thanks, I really appreciate the video. Really made me start to think. I guess according to Discogs I have an AC/DC album…an import version of “High Voltage”. Apparently it’s worth more than I thought. I would never sell it. I bought that album for probably $7.00 when I was 16, it used to be fun making a trip to the record store, getting our concert tickets for $9.00 for two bands, check out our new albums, and get some incense. Ahh, the 70’s!

I also have that Tool record. Bought in September 1996 a couple weeks before the CD was released.

I know money is a kinda a gouche subject. However, I think its interesting to understand the value of some of these records people may have in their collections without realizing it. Knowledge about variations and the differences between whats valuable or not is important. Please keep doing these. Your expertise as a record store owner is much appreciated.

Your most valuable record shouldn’t be based on value. It should be the one that you hold closest to your heart, the one that you have deep emotional attachment too. One that’s tied to a memory or moment in your life that you experienced, and one that reminds you of something/someone special. I open every album I buy, it’s just sad to see such a fine piece of music be kept sealed up.

Many of my most valuable records are not about dollar value but about enjoyment. That is why I buy vinyl, so I agree with BG Exclusive bellow. When I discover a title that becomes a favorite for a bargain...even better.

Actually, no. I make a point to not watch others because then you just end up regurgitating ideas. Not saying this hasn’t been done, it’s not even my first version of it. Dylan seems like a great dude though, and I’m sure his most valuable LPs put mine to shame 😂

People have different tastes. And to be fair out of all the upper midwest bands The Stooges end up being one of the least interesting. If playing that holier than thou game I'll take The DelVettes, The Litter, or Unrelated Segments.
