that is because Pro Wrestler is not fake is staged, which is different, because you can hurt yourself, like in the Franksteiner move of King, in that move he hurts himself. is like when a Wrestler fucks up the move and hurt himself

Sorta with you on this one when I knew about this. I thought the Tekken team gave this little secret input to make King sell that move when he botches it.

Alley Kick is the best and worst round ender for King according to Brawl Pro 😅

Me too! Means that I'm making more original content for you guys. Putting it on fight videos was something that I didn't like, so I did away with it. Eventually, this intro will get nixed too. We hafta enjoy it while it's here haha.

Thanks for the guidance. Just picking up Tekken, mostly because you inspired me to, and a high value move list video would also be really cool. Deb is really good at breaking down the theory in gear, and I think a high value move video could be really interesting if you pivot into that kinda thing too.

Part of King's gameplan is "Playing 'Possum" so some of these moves seem useless but the point of them is to slow down game play to get people respect King's wake up options.

I actually like the 1+2,1+2 extension of the crouch air grabs after a balcony break, because everyone will break the giant swing since it does a lot of damage, so you'll get the wall again, and the oki is actually deadly, even if it's -3 the opponent can't escape the 50/50 of f2,1 if he stands up/backrolls, and a ground throw for the other options. Aside from balcony breaks, I agree that the throw is pretty useless. Btw, the figure 4 was not as useless before s4 because you could not buffer muscle buster, so it was the fastests and most damaging 1+2 break (u1+2 had a guaranteed ali kick in s1 so it did a little more damage then), and tbh you have to be quite unlucky to get it reversed since the input is a perfect frame, even mashing like a madman I can only get it like once in 20 tries or so.

Wow did not know some of this for king. Especially that multi throw, learning all those routes for no reason lol

the downside of king is his frames, thats gonna take you a huge amount of being patient.

On G you got the hardest intro I’ve ever seen! I get chills every time I watch it

If I launch with my back to the wall I do a short combo and use the mid air grab to giant swing them back into the wall, it actually does a good chunk of damage.

I don't know if its because my opponents are doing something wrong but i sometime try the flapjack 1+2 extension from a balcony break when i already did the screw before hand, and it seems that f2,1 catches people standing up granting me a wall splat and basically ending the round. The move is so rarely used very few people know its breakable.

Ive seen a combo thats stylish as hell off of magic four that uses it

I personally liked the air grabs for the sake of repositioning and catching people off guard. And the giant swing after you catch someone preparing to jump? Visually just fun. It's more useful if you don't like being on one side than the other, even if you need to work out both sides.

@@thatblackbanana3055 just tested, it definitely does not. A fun thing about switching sides I noticed tho, is that if ur opponent breaks ur generic left hand throw you will switch sides.

I always hated the fact that the opponent can chicken Figure Four (d/b+2+3) and get undeserved damage on me after I landed a throw on them that's breakable. What a terrible grab.

i love it because King has a lot of grab moves (of course) So even if he has bad ones, he still has a lot more of good ones. i'm not gonna lie i love the "common" grabs, i know they are useless and easy to break, but i love those iconic wrestling moves

I agree on alley kicks being 50/50, I use it to test the players and from then I incorporate it to my combos or leave out, depending on their reaction. Great video, and always enjoy your content since I'm a King main myself

Lol I’ve been alley kicking since Tekken 3. Too funny. Cannot get rid of that muscle memory.

what about do the flapjack throw without the actual mixup part, just leave the opponent mashing break buttons and dash ground throw when he is rolling? 😅 thats something i did a while back. i somehow liked the mixup with the first part of the crouch air throw to knowledge check opponents, like theres also micro ssr into side throw if opponent holds b and doesent break, gets free peoples elbow. but the flap jack itself is pretty useless.

I've learned the hard way with Ally kick, but I now use it as a deadly weapon only if I know I got a hit in. Otherwise d3 and db3 is a lot safer.

yeah but when the Frankensteiner hits u can then follow up with a Standing Moonsault like a real wrestler 🙂 + give 'em another low or Alley Kick for free dmg, doing it for positional advantage might also be situational but I can definitely see how it can put u at disadvantage fairly ezily if used foolish

BIG MAJIN, could you do a playthrough of all king's tekken story/arcade modes and give your thoughts on all his endings? (in ultra hard mode) from tekken 1 to 7, could you also do a video on king's lore and character bio? (and wich is your favorite king, the 1st or 2nd one)

You also forgot the df n 1+3 grab. It's bad due to the fact you can break it and the couple of the extensions by mashing 1. CD 4 might be a somewhat useless move. Though it's a CH launcher, the forward hitbox just doesn't exist.

For me CD4 is a crap mostly because it makes FC d4 Only being possible to do from CD only by holding db after CD input, hella anoying because you have to do awkward input that making one of his best low pokes less considtent to do and coming out slower in Exchange for move that other moves doing his job better: 15f good mid just cancel to f3, ch launch? Just do knuckle bomb.

Flapjack does Balcony break into combo. UF+3+4 I use sometimes as turtle tool. Agree with Figure for leg lock. Replace with Octopus Strech like in T6 (it was a item move)

UF3+4 could work as round ender, when you have the life lead and staying on the ground means less damage... but there's uf3, SS 3+4 and b1,4 to do that job and better.

Like I wrote I use it sometimes. UF+3 is classic. SS+3+4 is 0 to +4 on block (range dependent) B+1,4 can be used uf/u/ub+2 is good

Which the problem lies that you have to be basically standing back towards the wall and get a vertical CH Hopknee and hope the opponent doesn't break it. Granted, it's a good mix up because they have to guess in either getting into a Burning Knuckle set up or just a Giant Swing.

There is one more way to get flapjack grab: as a punish after blocked slide. Granted that you get a float combo after blocked slide but you also can get BK set up of GS position change.

Single alley kick is good for a quick low attack, but it’s too tempting to keep pressing RK.

The intro is godlike!

the frankestiener fall animation is a sell which King do in respect to his profession. also 3 Js to a unblockable kick is useless too i guess, unless the opponent is brain ded.

How about the side chop? It is useful? I think its db1 or ub1

you forgot to mention counter-hit property of Ali Kick...its a 16 frame counter hit which adds 2 more kicks to his 3 normal kicks...i hit Heera Malik online with that and he ate the last one :) . so definitely could manipulate players,,... atleast once .

Use the ↗️ 34 to catch characters like jin and Lee trying to do their standing lows

Maybe standing 3 should be a power crush lol. Hell even ali kicks can be useful sometimes despite how high risk, low reward that move is (personally I sometimes use that as a round ender, although sometimes when I'm panicking the old beginner rank King comes back out). Just find it odd whenever I see a move that literally has no use, even if that use is just comedy.

What's more crazy about standing 3 is that Marduk's does 28 damage, 3 more points than King's/AK's.

I found one use for standing 3 on King, after I saw Majin do it. After a 1+2 1+2 wall bounce, it is great damage and the timing works out great as well for wall damage.

I always use that first low kick and I go all the way to the end and try to get that rising chop move after. If I get it it does so much damage. Im very far from a pro tho but king is all I know. That jumping kick move is only used for trying to catch someone off guard lmao.

I use that air grab when they the air for side switching basically lol. That figure 4 move is basically for when you talking trash. Id be yelling like J.R. in wwf if I ever hit that. The grapple from jaguar step to rear naked is purely for talking trash with king. He's so hype. Although it's breakable I dont think anyone who isn't from the pro scene is gonna break it. The Frankensteiner move is awesome if you hit it lmao. You gotta rly rly catch em slippin. Other than that its a nod to wwe lol.

I LOVE Alley Kicks. I use on peeps that spam too much.

correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't his Jagstep version of AK's multithrows unbreakable? at least the last parts of it (muffler and triple trouble). Edit: NVM they are. Probably confused them with struggle combination

Alley Kicks on counter has a guaranteed 104 combo. That’s what I use it for.

Didn't a failed frankensteiner used to damage King? I'm sure I've lost a few rounds to killing myself missing with that throw... Also isn't the figure 4 leglock really fast? I kept getting caught in 10 strings and I found the only way out was DB 2+3...

Nah, the figure 4 is just as fast as any other grab. If you can interrupt a 10 string with a grab, then that means you can also interrupt it with a jab so you're better off doing that instead

4:27 julia has this move to lol and its 14f fast, -14 on block but yeah... its pretty useless.

i don't agree with alley kick being useless, you can use it as a fast low round ender that hits grounded, there's sereval instances you get a guaranteed alley kick for free damage, you can use it to begin an easy combo with df2 1 (also get good oki), you can use it for free damage when f2,1 hits near the wall. if you mean it's useless to use in neutral/as a mixup tool then df4,3/f1+2 are just as useless

I don't think he's talking about alley kick being useless in the oki since everyone knows its good in those situations, and he did mention it can be good as a standalone without the extensions. So I think the extensions after the first alley kick is what he's actually referring to

It's not a bad move. It's just slow and seeable; so, it'll get crouched and punished. Thankfully, there is no hard punish since you'll just get hit while on the ground only once most times.

I can't see how alley kicks are useless, as a lot of Kings oki has guaranteed alley kicks as part of them. Useless in the open yeah, but sometimes it's guaranteed and does a decent amount of damage.

I hope he owns king (High, Low) or (Mid,low)

moves like standing 3 and uf3+4 were probably intended to represent all these clumsy looking pro wrestling striking attacks, but they have no actual use in Tekken gameplay.

What about ff2?

Jaguar step 3 3+2 and ff 2 1 are useless I been playing king since tekken tag 2 and I never used them

I use Jaguar step 3 to 3+2 often often online. It accomplishes a few things for me: People often don’t expect the follow up, so you can catch them off guard. And it conditions them to not duck and set up the chain grab. Also, since you end up on the floor, most people online can’t punish it effectively.

That moment when you're new to Tekken and the King of Kings blesses you with a new video 🙌

Its a nice round stealer get into rage chop a counter hit and see your enemies melt before you its Tricky to hit but damn that move is HIGH reward on hit for low risk(only few characters can float it)

The damage on it makes up for it’s uselessness. Since you do it off of w sidestep, it’s great for catching you opponent off guard imo.

The rough edges and flaws are what makes something good. If something is perfect its boring to me. Look characters like leroy or fakhumram that used to be perfect. If everything has an answer wheres the fun finding out whats good and not perfect your main

I don't want perfect either. The moves covered here aren't based off of not being perfect...they're based off of having no use in high level play. It's just my opinion on the moves so take it with a grain of water.

And btw you've probably heard it alot but through you and your king i managed to get better at tekken and learn some tricks with king. I wanted to thank you! 🙏

My boy Yoshi also has a plethora of "useless" moves, competitively speaking. But in reality, every move has a purpose, and many of the moves you showed are vital for establishing mental dominance. Examples like manually putting yourself in rage by whiffing King's frankesteiner or Hei's 4~3, or ending a round/match with moves like King's uf3+4, lei's ss3+4 or Yoshi's whiffed harakiri into blood dance show that's into only about viability. It's about sending a message.

Although it's a high, it is homing, has range, only -3 on block with pushback, and guarantees f+2+3 or f,f+4 on hit. If it hits in rage mode, then rage drive is guaranteed. It also guarantees a ground throw attempt on hit, which means that the d/b+1+3 can be used as a floor break to start a combo.
