As a certified predator mania and pulse wearer i can tell yall that the tongue does get in the way but it almost gives you a fatter forefoot effect. Hitting volleys seemed so much easier because you have a huge sweet spot as opposed to modern boots that are very slim. As far as the elastic getting in the way of the predator elements, yes it did but nothing noticeable. The tongue all the way forward beckham style also freed your ankles giving them a sense of more range of motion. All this could very well be just in my head but the pure nostalgia of reliving those times is worth it to me.

Would cutting that elestic strap ruin it? I really dont like it, feels like it would get in my way. But a huge tongue fan otherwise, like from the days of Ronaldinho Tiempos. Them tongues didnt have these straps.

These boots are catered to the people who grew up playing in proper preds, who never wanted to see the tongue go away. These are easily the best looking predator since the Powerswerve. Adidas, we thank you 🙌🏻

It would be nice if Adidas made an AG (real) version like Nike does, with shorter, more conical studs for artificial grass pitches. In recent years they have made MG-AGs that were the same as the FG version and there was often a risk of injury.

Absolute love them. Especially the fold over tongue. My first predators were the model from 96 and played in predators until 2012. Hated that i had to buy other boots :)

There's been hints of the foldover tongue over the years, like the copa gloro 16.1s and the copa 17.2s which all show resemblance to the OG preds, but i honestly didn't expect this retro release to be this OG. On this note I'm really curious how a foldover tongue feels like when kicking a ball, since the closest I've got to was a pair of Gloro 16.1's which fold like barely halfway compared to this one.

The color is fire. And the fat adidas stripes looking pretty cool. Brings Zidane to my mind.

As much as it’ll be awesome to have a leather upper but going with the hybrid touch synthetic is something I can live with it given that synthetic is already proven plus worked well during the predator LZ and instinct days. Again it’s awesome that adidas is bringing an older style back with fold over flap tongue on these along with the u-throat stand-alone constructions on the X Crazyfast+,copa 2.1 and predator 30.1. Again nothing against one piece uppers given they’re good but these good old standalone tongues just have something adjustable

What do you guys think about expected colorways? I mean this traditional colorway that most predator enthusiasts would like sold out almost instantenously given that the supply was limited to some two thousand odd pairs. Could they not just re-release them without all the special boxing? Now you have the orange version out, but it's certainly a nonclassic colorway and i think it doesnt have the same nostalgic element as this special edition does. Those are more like for the new generation of kids who want flashy boots rather than black, but i guess they're currently Adidas's main consumer target.

A very similar colorway to this is dropping soon, more orange/red than this but close and more traditional. The actually drop colorway is hideous. Luckily I got a pair of these lol

Best looking boots adidas have released since the 10s, they just need to release colourways like this rather than the current orange ones. Also these were seemingly bought by scammers and re sellers as they are all over ebay sadly

$20 premium for fold over tongue isn't horrible considering you actually get additional striking elements, which is a performance upgrade. Especially when you consider that Nike has been charging extra for the higher dynamic fit collars for years. I don't know, maybe the higher collar is a performance feature too, since it helps keep turf pellets out of your boots?

So get the non fold over tongue to play in, and get the FT version in a year when they go on sale to put in the display case. Got it!

Great review. To me Toni Kroos does it best. Found the perfect model for himself and wearing it forever.

Doesn't matter how great any boots could be, when it comes to the Foldover Tongue Pred, the rest has to make way. Its Iconic looks is Impossible to beat, the curve effect created by striking element, a bigger top foot sweet spot by the tongue & Now u get a slimmer/grippier/lighter upper material that gives u a feeling of dynamic, agility & better ball control at the same time. Plus a solid soleplate & studs that improved significantly from previous ones, Not only u put on a rich history on ur feet but one of the Best Performance as well this time around. I dont think Any boots will come close to this pair especially if u are old school.

The tongue appeals me to because it will help prevent pain & injury from being stepped on.

Arguably Pred 30, mainly based on the tighter overall fit compared to the Accuracy.

Would you recommend I go true to size which is size 11 but I do have wide feet and concerned about them being too snug 13:08

as someone who loves the true Predators, no. The strap is thin and the elements are very grippy, you never notice the strap (at least, Precision-Powerswerve, you never notice it)

Hey m8 I’ve been watching the channel for a couple years now and I just randomly remembered the boots that looked like all carbon fiber, idk if you had said you were helping out and they were a prototype or something but what ever happened to them?

My daughter has tried all boots and keeps coming back to Predators, She is not happy that there is no midcut boot this year. She loves the look but is worried if one of her boots rips or cracks she will have to get the accuracy.

Ya, it is our #1 complaint, it is not leather. I actually would have bought a pair, or tried, even at the 350usd mark. Would show the brands it is what we want. But at least we are close, maybe next year there will be that option (or this year as a limited one-off)

@@trolltracker wrong on both. Leather is much more durable, even without treatment, jusf with light cleaning constant use. Water resistance?? Who cares if your feet become a couple grams heavier (which most modern leather boots have treatment for anyway). The fact that i have a pair of original Copa Mundial, Predator Pulse and Powerswerve all outlast my Vapor VIII (the best synthetic i have owned) and all the others, is proof of that Also, "it's" is literally "it is" 😅 but you are clearly confused, so we can let it slide

Manias are my favourite boot of all time but these are ugly.

I like the colors but the boots are ugly.
