As a Polish person but a huge fan of Messi I fully agree that Lewy deserved it in 2020 and 2021, Messi though he had a great season shouldn't get it. Like Lewy broke most of the records in Bundesliga, won UCL so he should just get the Golden Ball with no excuse.

Also, winning the champions league is a much better feat than winning la Liga and the Copa del Rey, and based on Martinez winning goalkeeper of the year award in 2022 despite only being the best for 3 weeks, I think the World Cup plays a big part in your ballondor ranking, and messi didn’t play very well in the competition. While Modric on the other hand had a very good tournament and on top of that won the champions league.

Only people with no Ball knowledge think Lewa deserved ballondor in 2021. He deserved it in 2020 not 2021. Messi was Better in 2021 easily
As for 2013: Ronaldo scored a record 15 goals in Champions League play, netted 15 go-ahead goals in La Liga contests and tied Ribery for chances created in the box. Oh yeah, and to top it all off, he single-handedly sent Portugal to the World Cup with a hat-trick against Sweden in the qualifying playoff. Even Messi said he deserved it.

Also, winning the champions league is a much better feat than winning la Liga and the Copa del Rey, and based on Martinez winning goalkeeper of the year award in 2022 despite only being the best for 3 weeks, I think the World Cup plays a big part in your ballondor ranking, and messi didn’t play very well in the competition. While Modric on the other hand had a very good tournament and on top of that won the champions league.
I miss the days when defenders and GKs got ballon d’ors. Hopefully that’ll come again soon
