    There was one final victory that Viscant had over LTG; he denied him another TV appearance. Tosh.0 wanted to have him on a segment called web redemption, but the show wanted both of them to be on. However, Viscant refused saying he moved on from that scene. LTG was trying to persuade him but to no avail. LTG really wanted to be on TV but Viscant said no.

    As far as raging in person vs online, it’s that disconnect between the people. While online, you’re pretty much anonymous. In person, you have a face to connect to the name, plus it’s the general tendency to be a bit more reserved and polite in public. Even when someone does rage in public, they are usually still able to show respect to the opponent.

    In person at tourney's you are accountable for you actions. They usually have someone there to keep people in check. If nothing else there will be security guard or should have one that can be asked to step in. When your at home at your computer. There is no accountability of your actions, well there is very little. So he can show his ass at home like a child, and no one is really going to care. But in person, you show your ass, and start raging hundreds of people are going to know before you leave the building. Is what i was going to say till I saw your reply. lol.

    About the psychology of raging online vs raging in person. My best educated guess comes from the socio-psychological phenomena, deindividuation. Basically, you act differently when you're physically with other people than when you're by yourself in the same situation because of heightened knowledge that people can and will judge you. Even if you're streaming online, you don't see the viewers as people as much as a physically present audience watching you. This can also explain how Twitter is so much more toxic than the reality of how people are, because posting an opinion online feels easier to do than reciprocating that same opinion in front of a crowd of people.

  • @mikeochoa8629

    @mikeochoa8629

    Exactly, there is no immediate response/consequence for actions. When you are with another person(s) and you say/do something, you get an immediate response (consequence) for what you say or do. But when you have a medium like social media or youtube, you can put something out there an not get any kind of immediate or even physical reaction. I like to call it the “D*ckPic phenomena”, most men would not pull their junk out at a bar or somewhere public for fear of immediate and harsh reaction. But sending a pic over the phone removes the personal and immediate reaction/consequence. So it’s less harsh on the ego. Less judgment. And less negativity for the ego to handle. Almost impunity. Most trolls live and die by this. They can say or do things with little to no physical harsh reaction to their actions. And in fact they get satisfaction from the attention.

    Its not that people dont rage in an offline tournament because you can see your opponent, its all about social pressure. Youre not 100% yourself when in public, you automatically get in a mind set that makes you worry about every reaction you can have cause you know people are watching. When youre home, you dont care about how your reaction is gonna look. Of course, there are still people who were comfortable enough to rage in public.

    At 4:44, there is a phenomeno called the Hawthorne Effect where one's behavior changes because they know that people are watching. In the case of LTG, or us gamers, it's easier to rage quit on streams because they are just text who are appearing on screen compared to actual events where people are observing you. Not a psychology major, but this was discussed to us before

    I mean what he did was ban evasion. That's how any system works with a ban system. If you get a temp ban, then make another account to get around that ban, they are gonna drop the hammer on you. As for why he acts differently online as opposed to in person events, I think it has to do with in-person, you can see their face, their expressions. You also know they are bringing their A game to win. Online, if someone is dicking you around with a cheese combo or something, you just automatically assume that they are doing it to be a dick.

    If your still looking at comments on this video I can give a decent explanation for why people don’t get mad when their being watched by others. A KZreadr called Lazy purple made a video on Team Fortress 2 called How it feels to play sniper, in it he talked about a couple concepts like overcoming bad habits and how isolating it can be. When you are by yourself as sniper trying to headshot players on the enemy team you are the only person who sees the shots you miss and your the only person who can beat themselves up about it, this concept can apply to online fighting games as well because in any other setting besides a tournament your the only person who can judge your actions (unless the other fighter has a mic).

    There's a huge disconnect when you're playing online. You can't see their face or perceive how they're reacting to things so it's entirely possible to project the worst qualities onto them to fill the void, whereas even just being able to hear their voice alone removes so much of that confusion and will probably make you way more calm and understand how and why they're doing things. I'm pretty guilty of this myself, though I'm not proud to admit it. Sometimes someone playing well and trying to win can be misread as them bullying you or using shitty tactics on purpose, but a lot of times they'll tab into my stream and be like "hey gg, man. you're pretty good" and it kinda reminds me to not judge a book by its cover and just enjoy the game, y'know?

    as fellow psychology if someone is really himself/herself and no one else around he/she can fully release all like literally all the feelings of frustration and mad that end result maybe destroy they own properties if they way mad or better term 'to salty' but if he/she involved some people around them they either restrict they salty mode or act like a good boy or girl cuz they sometimes aware that other people had something worth that drive them want something even do anything as long they satisfied. if not they will continue on that never end of satisfied journey despite they already had something but they mind think it actual never satisfied enough.

    I'd imagine why rage at home is higher is because it's the unknown predator effect. You know you're losing, it's clear, and you are in your own home, with your most comfortable setup, and yet, it's not enough. This is why you're more aggitated much quicker when you lose to a faceless opponent via the internet.

    Video idea: The most creative guest character ever made. Kratos in MK9 included a lot of the weapons and abilities from the games, but even more than that, he had QTEs in his attack strings! I mean how cool is that? As far as I'm aware, that's never been the case in another NetherRealm game! I mean Injustice and MKX had chain inputs on some attacks, but Kratos' were full on quick time events with button prompts flashing on screen and almost cinematic looking attacks! And since he was console exclusive, it gives players who only played xbox insight on a character they may know almost nothing about!
