The most team-based video game ever

Ойындар

What first comes to your mind when you hear: team-based video game? Well, in my "subjectively objective" opinion, Deep Rock Galactic manages to take home the trophy of being: the most team-based video game ever. Rock and Stone, miners.

The ping system is a huge deal too. Hyper-visible laser pointer towards what you want attention brought to, and dozens of voice lines that describe the objects and their primary functions: Anything from "We're rich!" for gold or "Shoot it in the arse!" For the dreadnaught. Extremely helpful and surprisingly advanced communication, with no chat or mic required.

plus there's a ton of automatic voice-lines as well, that help lessen the need for callouts. they call out kills for every special, killing lesser enemies, getting grabbed, interacting with most objects, even a couple events starting like machine-challenges or dreadnought spawns

the amount of wholesome interactions i've had in this game alone outnumber those of all the other multiplayer games i own, combined. i unironically and genuinely agree with you that drg is FACTUALLY the most team based game ever, and it's pretty hard to think of reasons against that idea!

Here's some small, random things I do per class to help out the crew: -Scout: Firing flares when defending areas. They're more than just for seeing minerals, letting your team see and shoot the bugs before they're a problem will give you all more breathing room. -Engineer: Platforms at the bottom of big drops/below ziplines/some rooms when jetboots are involved. Fall damage is the #1 killer of the game and you have the tools to help mitigate it. -Driller: Flatten out terrain. Removing terrain elements when holding down an area will give you team better sight lines and let them kill more bugs. Always try to around objectives a bit to give your team more room to move -Gunner: Your ziplines easily negate all fall damage if you hold e while falling towards one. Set some up at the bottom of a tall cave, or around a boss fight so the Scout can jump around while taking less damage.

I mean you could discuss games like barotrauma where teamwork is critical to success. I also think faster paced shooters like Apex, CS:GO, or Overwatch inspire teamwork with fast communications, which is really fun and helpful.

About the more team based game than the most team based game, that would be G.T.F.O you have to try it if you like DRG. Also I recommend you start from Rundown 6 or R6 if you do play it. R6 should show you exactly what's the game is about since it's the rundown of the game official launch.

i think l4d2 is EVEN MORE team-based, then drg if you happen to get into a good 4v4 game of versus.. or even just a campaign. Because if your teamwork is on point you're gonna blast through maps like a train, but if not.. then its gonna be a really rocky ride

I saw someone argue that DRG is so positive because every class is a support class - so even a completely selfish player will still end up helping their team. A selfish Driller will still leave tunnels the whole team can use. A selfish Gunner will still leave ziplines the whole team can use. A selfish Engineer will still leave sentries and platforms that benefit the whole team. And a selfish Scout will still illuminate the whole map with the Flare Gun. (Even if they do fly off and get themselves killed on the other side of the map.)

Team based videogame calls Team Fortress 2 to mind, then Natural Sellection 2. DRG goes hard on not making you hate your teammates, but one of the ways it acheves this is by not making you not reliant on them( this is not a bad thing). I cannot say I know the MOST team based videogame, as I have not played them all. Edit: I play DRG solo.

I tried drg, but I felt the same as with warframe. Players go ahead by themselves like playing alone and rushing the match. If you follow you don't even play and cant catch up either. A game that keeps players together is left 4 dead and overwatch 1 pve. Id like to find more. Gunfire reborn is nice but too hard. Lethal company is nice but roguelike is too hard, a roguelite would be better, to keep some upgrades.

Shucks. I guess like most communities, the experience you'll have with it varies quite a lot. Perhaps it might be a locational thing; here in Australia, peeps are much more inclined to work together (even on tasks that can be done alone and such), and I've never had a situation where someone intentionally strays too far from the team. At the very least, I'm glad that you've found more team-based enjoyment in other games, because that wholesome feeling of connecting with others through teamwork is something everyone needs to experience!
