This is the work of the Dutch producer / musician and sounddesigner Ed Starink (hence "Star Inc"), who has been the absolute master of making original sounding replica's for decades! In the Netherlands re-creating original tracks is not illegal as long as you hand over the income of all copyrights to the orignal creator(s). Ed Starink also was one of the very few people to own a Fairlight CMI in the mid 1980's. He is IMO one of the most underrated producers of the Netherlands. A true musical (and sounddesign) genius !

Interesting! At the time this was released I was about 10 years old and totally thought these were the real deal. Or I probably didn't care. Listening back to these tracks with the fresh knowledge these are covers, perhaps makes me even like them more. I guess every sample had to be made from scratch. What a vast amount of time must have been siphoned to this project. Doing so much with so little only can be achieved with talent, passion & workmanship. For me these versions *are* the originals.

When I was young my mother bought a casette tape of synthesizer greatest, made by Ed Starink. I've listened every track with such great pleasure, it was one of my favourite casette tapes (yes I'm that old)....

Wenn ich diese Musik höre, dann bin ich hin und weg und den Tränen nahe. Es war in meinem Leben und auch im Leben meiner Brüder so: wir hatten einen eigenen Partyraum, jedes Wochenende war Party (unsere Eltern waren wirklich Engel)! Wir hörten damals alles was die 60er und 70er so hergeben (ich bin 1953 geboren). Auch die deutschen: Kraftwerk, Popolo Vuh, Ash Ra Tempel usw . Jahrzehnte später lernte ich auf einer neuen Arbeitsstelle einen Kollegen kennen, der aus der Tschechei stammte. Er arbeitete wie ich als Konstrukteur und war nebenbei auch Organist und bediente eine alte Hammond, die mir schon mal zur Reparatur gab. Er erzählte mir, dass er in jungen Jahren mit einem Freund die Tschechei verlassen hat, nach Deutschland kam, und zunächst in München sein "Unwesen" trieb und danach in meine deutsche Ecke kam. Sein Freund ging auch weg und ließ sich in Amerika nieder. Mein Kollege hat mir erzählt, wie er hieß: ...Jan Hammer...!!!

Eu tenho o CD inteiro em Mp3, logo qdo surgiu os programas de Rip-cd, de outro volume com o mesmo nome acho q era do Ano de 1996 ou 97.

J'ai été bercé par ce genre de musique. Je me souviens, par ailleurs, entre 1989/90 que mes parents avaient offert les cassettes audio de la collection Synthesizer et avec un pote de lycée, dans le bus, on les écoutait. D'ailleurs, c'est Jean-Michel JARRE qui m'a donné cette passion du synthétiseur et de ses merveilleuses possibilité de son et programmation depuis Oxygène et Equinoxe et toute sa période 80's 90's. 🥰🥰🤩

I can't believe this! My dad got this CD bundled when he bought our first CD player. A Sony from Makro. Must have been '89 or '90. I spent half of the day to travel to Roels for buying a decent cassette tape - spending a few weeks worth of pocket money. I was not allowed to come close to his sound system, but somehow managed to record this album and played it for the next few years on my walkman. I was familiar with Vangelis and JM Jarre but this CD is where I first heard Crockett's Theme. It was many years later I watched my first Miami Vice episode.

Very nice collection of music

My mom used to offer me each new CD at Christmas back in the 80s/90s. Indeed, they used to release it at Christmas, at least in France. I have listened those CDs so many times ... the music made me dream quite a lot :). Fun fact, I was disapointed to learn, years after, that it wasnt the original version of the songs... But they are still very good version of the titles :).

I have the Synthesizer Spectacular and the Synthesizer Greatest box cd sets. I play those and afterwards, couple them with the Pure Moods CD series. A night of home musical entertainment that is unbeatable.

oh yes I owned this cd in the late 80's in fact I owned a few of star inc's cd's loved his interpretation of the famous synth classics.. It was a time I was starting to awaken to the mystery and joy of the synthesizer. Those cd's lost over the decades. So happy to be reunited with this again thanks so much for the upload.

What a compilation all the classy organ players. A collector item

Crockett's Theme I love it, I think it sounds fantastic.

I have a Yamaha DX 7 II module I use on a Chromebook. It is amazing all the patches (sounds) created for it and the sounds a DX7 can easily make. Synths morphed from those with wires to program the oscillators and their mono sounds to 32 note polyphonic synths programmable from their keyboard interface or from computer. Many of these songs were made with sequencers as well which allow for the multi-instrument, layered sound with drum riffs. Nowadays there is also music generating software, some of which can create tracks quite close to these, w/o one having to key in the music. Artists like David Foster, Michael Boddicker, and Robbie Buchannan helped as session musicians for bands ranging from Chicago and Toto to artists like Madonna and Michael Jackson. Tony Banks was the stellar keyboardist who gave Genesis its sound, just like Richard Tandy did for ELO. I liked this mix, though the songs repeat, so it is not three hours of different songs. But it does showcase synths and some of the orchestral contributions their artists have added to music over the years and into this century.

das ist eine handelsübliche cd die man kaufen kann/konnte. mir unverständlich warum man die hier einfach hochladen darf, wenn man aber mehr als 8 sek eines tietels in seinen videos benutzt wird das video gesperrt.

Recopilatorio en uno de los famosos " Synthesyzer Greatest" de principios 90, creo que hicieron 7 volúmenes, versiones de piezas musicales populares tocadas con electrónicos

I had a lot of Star Inc cd's. They cost 15 Dutch Guilders at that time. Later the same tracks (of Star Inc) were sold on cd's under the name Synthesizer Greatest Part 1-5. Very popular but 40 Guilders each! I thought I was the only one who knew that back then.... 😂
