I was climbing a mountain, came across another climber, helped her up a ledge and we climbed together and talked a lot on the way there. Past halfway I stopped and asked her, hey, if we make it to the top, will you marry me? She answered: i was about to give up, but now you said this, I MUST make it to the top. And we both forced ourselves to the top. Now happily married for 21 years 3 months and 16 days.

It's never too late, you could try to propose to her saying "I have loved you for 46 years. Would you love me for even more?" Or something like that. I also think that re-proposing is one of the most romantic things ever. Also it's super super unexpected, so it's even more cute!!!

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death. I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse. People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.

I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. In my opinion, romantic love should not be on the highest pedestal. In my opinion, parents and siblings' family love is the strongest. Family knows who you are. Romance is fake for lots of people, put on a false persona and romance on most parts gets ugly real fast. For the reality of romance is no Disney love story. Parents and siblings' family love is one of the strongest types of love there is. If romantic love is actually real, it would be one of the weakest types of love there is.
