Same here! 😂 I feel like a race car driver with yarn 🧶 😂 Funny fact, this also works nice with an American treble instead of a traditional double, which I accidentally found out by using a UK pattern, unawares. 🤣

True, it would work that way too and then it grows faster!
I have gotten the c2c bug, but it seems like a natural for a triangular shawl. I can see that once you get past the first couple of rows, you can switch to auto pilot and relax. I love all your shawls and how different yarn weights and colors make such a difference.

I am at the moment crocheting a blanket corner to corner V stitch. I love this pattern. I tried to do the moss stitch but my mind couldn't get round it so I decided to leave the moss stitch idea and I started with the V stitch and I love it. I think the V stitch in a fine fingering wool would make a lovely shawl. In fact, I just might think about that. Loved this video Tuula. Thank you.

@@TuulaMaaria On my 64 years of knitting and crocheting, I have never done a triangular scarf. I have done different shapes, mainly to give friends in here. For a Finn in Texas there is not much need for scarfs, though when the temp. here goes below 20 C, Texans pull out their boots and scarfs 😂. Your design is easy and nice, perhaps using some bamboo mix yarn would feel less stuffy in here.
@TuulaMaaria

@@1lmp1 Yes, you wouldn't need wool there, fine bamboo might be best, more as a decoration than for warmth!
Really like the picot version. It has been so hot here for a couple of weeks and finally rain and storms have arrived today so crochet weather at last. Thank you for refreshing my memory. I had forgotten about the C2C and you have inspired me to experiment with it. 🦘

Yes, the shawl i have at the beginning of the video is one I put on and off I'm sure 20 times a day! It was so cold here that I stayed in for the new year, -17 °C!
I’m sure the amount of yarn needed depends on how big you want the shawl to be, but can you give a guideline as to how much yarn is needed for a basic small ? Thanks! Love this pattern.
@TuulaMaaria

Thank you! Most of the ones I'm showing on the video weigh about 200 grams, even though they are different materials. The lime green one that I also have in the thumbnail is only 100 grams, it is smaller but also fingering weight so goes further with a small hook, 2.5 mm I think.

Hi TuulaMaaria, thank you for your outstanding videos! I’ve learned so much from you. I made a rectangle mesh shawl using the 3 row method and I wonder if you could tell me what kind of border you would put on it ?
@TuulaMaaria
2 ай бұрын
There are so many possibilities for a border, depending on what type you like. You could even make a frilly one. But it that's not your style, another possibilitys would be reverse single crochets (crag stitch). Or picots.
Excellent demonstration, as usual! Any chance of a tutorial showing this stitch done as a rectangle? I am new to C2C crochet and do not yet understand how one would decrease. Thank you for all your instructive content!

@@meganconner2149 I tried to read as many replies as possible, but not able to find any relevant one. The stitches ( or pixels) are naturally increasing as part of the pattern. I am not sure where I am missing the point of making it grow in parallel
@TuulaMaaria
6 ай бұрын
Yes, this older video kzread.info/dash/bejne/gXihzqWoqtewptY.html, from after 8 minutes, shows how you start decreasing so that you get a square or rectangualr shape.
When using different weights of yarn do you go with the hook size suggested on the package or something else?
@TuulaMaaria

Yes, I would go with what is suggested or at least close to it, depending a bit on how airy you want the finished result to be.
