I think Legends: Arceus pretty much cemented the pronunciation with the hard C sound. They said it in the first trailer and all subsequent promotions. I hardcoded the pronunciation in my brain since Sun/Moon. Silvally’s ability is the RKS System which is supposed to be replicating and a reference to Arceus’s ability. So the pronunciation has always been “R-K-S”.

Ampharos was named after the Pharos lighthouse in Alexandria, one of the sever wonders of the ancient world. Mantine is weird because it's name is either "manta" and either "marine", in which case it'd be "man-teen", or "brine", which would make it "man-tyne". I think the second one sounds better anyway. Brock never had a Phanpy (which has always been spelled that way, y'all are crazy) but Ash did. Raikou, Entei, and Suicune are all Japanese composite names. The first halves mean "thunder", "flame", "water" respectively, and the second means "emperor", lord", and "monarch". Arceus has had some revisions in the past. When it first appeared in the movies it was with a soft "c" to match the Japanese pronunciation since they try and make legendary names pretty similar across languages and Japan doesn't use hard "c". They changed it to "Ark-" afterwards for everything else when someone in the localization team woke up and realized is had "arse" in it. Officially it's a combination of "Arc-" meaning highest point, "and "Deus". Ferrothron really messed with me in the Sw/Sh amine when someone repeatedly pronounces it "Fee-ROTH-orn". That just sounds wrong. Deino, Zweilous and Hydreigon and pronounced that way because their names have the German numbers ein, zwei, drei in their names. Surprised you didn't mention Minccino and Cinccino, most people get those wrong. They're chinchillas wearing chino, all of the "c"s make a "ch" sound. I'm a nerd for etymology.

One official pronunciation I will NEVER accept is Hippopotas. It's literally hippopotamus with the m and u missing and they want to call it hippo-poe-toss 😭😭

For Arceus, the show and official media used to say Ar-see-us but then they actually changed the official pronunciation for the hard c. I also heard a rumor that parents complained because it sounded too much like Arse
