JTF2 narrow focused?!?! They are probably the best special forces to deal with a great range of threats. They are for trained biological,radiological and neurological as they are officially a Counter Terrorism but they’ve also take on foreign tasks that Special Forces would do which makes them one of the most skilled special forces units as they’re not just SF but also Counter Terrorism

The SAS have a little known sibling the SBS (the Special Boat Service) mostly drawn from the Royal Marines. They are as deadly as the SAS but even less known since they never take the glory, often leaving the Royal Marines to be the public face of the operation while the SBS do the really tricky bits. Both the SAS and SBS are part of the UKSF (UK Special Forces division distinguished mostly by area of most expertise) That said the British Royal Marines are a commando force to be reconded within their own right especially in their best field of amphibious warfare. All UK special forces rams are drawn from experienced soldiers, sailors or airmen so it is not a direct comparison with the direct recruitment in the USA

Our best sf is actually E SQUADRON they recruit higher rank SAS soldiers with the most expierence they work for mi6.

Hard to determine as all units have different mission sets. I’d say that SEALs are best at maritime operations (taking down pirates, hijacked ships, etc), the Unit is the best at CT and hostage rescue, AF Special Tactics Squadron is best at ground/air operations. There are also a ton of units left off of this list that arguably deserve a spot (MARSOC, UK SBS, etc). It all boils down to the mission, many units could easily trade operators are still be efficient.

There definitely are.

There are many very elite SOF units in the world. But the SMU’s in JSOC which belong to the worlds only superpower are the most capable, best equipped, best supported and most effective SOF units in the world. This is and always will be the case.

Pursuing a seal contract myself, I can say this list is a bit off. DEVGRU would make sense for a number one spot, but conventional SEAL teams aren’t on the level of Delta, for example.

I remember when I went through Canadian basic training my platoon commander was former JTF2, guy was built like that rooster from Bugs Bunny, skinny legs but massively ripped upper body. One day during a course he was supposed to teach in class (not often the platoon leader does that himself) he instead showed us videos of him and his former unit in Afghanistan. One video that I remember perfectly is him recording in the dark as you hear bullets clanging off steel. Then the camera lifts up out of a hatch on a LAVIII and hear bullets whizzing by, an RPG strike the ground about 80m away, and one go over his head. The whole time he was laughing. Apparently him and his team were ambushed that day, and by the end of the fight all the enemies were dead

It's mainly do to Seals experiences and high mission rate while SAS are largely inexperienced. Besides while they both have similar trained with SAS having more intel/intel counter classes, the seals training is just brutal with alot of deaths during training. Seals are just more brutal and Lethal with a history to back it.

Their not deployed very often as Britain is largely inactive, Most SAS teams never seen combat when comparing to SEALs, Russian's alpha group, or Israels SF where their all experienced. I'm just pointing out a fact, no use getting angry about facts. The Iranian Embassy Siege happened in the 1980s. While yes the SAS is great but however been mainly inactive besides a few operations. To be honest I rather have a more experienced team. I'm sorry that that some COD fanboys gotten hurt over that. Is their anyway I can make it up to you?

Zero Human no idea where you heard that but it’s utter tosh. Before officially withdrawing from Afghanistan (SF will still be there), Britain was involved in continuous conflicts since 1914. That’s certainly more than any other major western country. In addition, SBS & SAS only recruit from currently serving forces personnel who have to have at least 3 years of experience and usually completed at least one tour. This is contrary to a unit like the SEALs who recruit civilians yet still have a higher percentage of applicants pass selection. Even combined the SAS & SBS are very small in numbers and are constantly deployed (ie. they’ve all been there, done that, and are still there). You’ll be hard pressed to find a unit comprised of more experienced soldiers anywhere, including the SEALs. Finally, I have no idea why some people seem to think the US have more recent experience. It’s almost like UKSF *weren’t there* 🙄

Navy SEAL's are a tier 2 team, same tier as Army Special Forces, Army Rangers, Marine (MARSOC) Raiders, Air Force PJ's, etc. Navy SEAL Team 6, or DEVGRU is a tier 1 team, and are considered the most elite, similar to the Army's Delta Force.

I saw a video where they were doing this two week training exercise and had to alter it and provide entertainment and breaks to troops to keep morale up. Eventually they canceled the training scenario because too many soldiers abandoned the exercise all together.

@@PureFPSPwnage I agree with you there. A war with them would mean an able body draft. We haven't had a draft in almost 50 years but they have a scary amount of people. We're outnumbered by them by something like 4 or 5 to 1.

I would put JTF2, UK SAS, US Delta and SEALs all in the number 1 spot. They're all comparable, it's not really possible to say any one of them is better than the other.

people forget US Nighstalkers, basically the tier 1 special unit of US Air Force, without them none of the other special forces will be able to go into dangerous mission.

It's so surreal to think that, when you're aware of the existence of these armed forces, characters in over the top action movies might actually exist

I think it isn’t very accurate to rank them as we don’t know everything they do

You forgot the parent of MARCOS, the unit which has actually won every joint competition it has undertaken. The PARA SF. And they've proved themselves much more lethal than anyone else on the list in terms of infiltration capabilities in very small numbers.

@Chase Miller The seals aren't the hardest even in America's military. Ranger training is honestly about on par with what the seals do. The only reason why the seals are always seen as complete badasses is because they're compared to the rest of navy. That's not to say that seals aren't awesome, but they are pretty overrated.

Everyone has heard of the SEALs. They can’t keep their mouths shut, lol. They aren’t some top secret, classified unit anymore (like Delta, for instance). We know their training methods, equipment, unit formation, structure, operational history. Don’t get me wrong, still very, very elite. Just not in the shadows any longer, and very little of what they do is secretive (even when it’s supposed to be).

Spetznatz is actually like really interesting I was surprised about what spetznatz is since... Spetznatz is like the most general special operations term you can use. It consists of multiple army branches lots of cities who use different equipment depending on how important the city's in that area are. And with that said training and such.... That can't be the same as most armies listed here because of thsy importance stuff I just said it can vary from equipment and wirh that said training aswell. Really look up spetznatz you will be surprised. I know I definitely was! I mean like one of the I thought most trained units and such is actually well.... That 0.o

Did you know? that some members of DEVGRU or SEAL TEAM 6 try out for Delta force and you won’t see any Delta force members try out for DEVGRU cuz they say its a downgrade

Those pictures of Canadians apologizing in hockey is so inaccurate, we are demons on hockey bro, one time in my friends game a guy ran into the goalie and then the goalie smashed his face with the stick and a bunch of guys joined and fought.

I think Delta and ST6 are probably equally capable and it's likely just about who is closer to the mission. But if you told me I had to pick one... I'd go with Seal Team 6 due to all of their brutal water training.

Except they don't. Some decide to join the Army and go for it, but 1st SFOD-D don't recruit from members of cross branches. SEALs go into DEVGRU, their SMU. The USMC doesn't have an SMU. SF/Rangers/82nd go to their respective SMU, 1st SFOD-D.

Ken I think you might be working off some old knowledge. I’m not saying that when delta force recruits from different branches, that they switch over to being Soldiers from whatever branch they serve. USMC has MarSOC Raiders, which is a service component of USSOCOM.

SEALs have never had British influence you're thinking of DELTA/US Army SF. SEALs were made by the Navy no other US branch had much influence apart from maybe the Marines but not really. SEALs are 100 percent American made.
