I love this game and I'm having a blast with it, especially with my friends, But yeah you have some good points, I really hope this game does get better in the future

But the game is literally a MOBA. MOBA is short for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. All of which, in parts and collectively, describe the game accurately. It's not a LoL style MOBA, but it is a MOBA style game in general.

Bought it after some reluctance and I think it’s really fun - already unlocked ripper roo in a day and he’s very interesting to play. My downside is though the lack of game modes like capture the flag, etc. As it will get repetitive after some time. Right now it feels like an early access game with the lack of modes and maps, but a fun early access game.

my 2 main criticisms i have in regards to gameplay would be that if someone disconnects the game very easily turns into a stomp because the bot AI is horrendously bad and they never turn into blockers and that the game doesn't do a good enough job of teaching players what different roles do especially when it comes to. I think a way to fix the problems with the bots is to have some form of backfill because with how it is right now if one team has bots and the others don't it's much more likely the team without bot players are going to win and it becomes impossible once more people start leaving mid match, another fix for this that could also do a good job of teaching players gameplay stuff is allowing players to swap characters and powers mid match, not only would that allow for more experimentation and coordination with comps but it would also allow for a safety net if someone does disconnect since you could swap to the blocker and try to stall out time for another player to join back in with the backfill

finally a good review this game is literally getting hate for no reason (for the most part) I hate it when someone says it's crash bash copy it's so wierd and foolish how most people talk about the game without trying it or knowing anything about it and you are completely true about the 30 dollar price tag

@@lottethevampire That's not TFB's or even Activision's problem. Requiring PS+ or Xbox Live is also not their problem, but Sony's and Microsoft's requirement. Activision altogether, when they release games on those consoles, they have to accept THEIR rules and requirements. So if you want to blame someone for the online requirement, blame Sony and MS. For pricing, that is your own Danish economy. It's the same thing in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Other games also borrow or reuse a lot of assets like Horizon, God of War, Last of Us, and even Splatoon... yet those games do fine and are praised for improving on what is already there to use, making it easy to make games instead of wiping the slate clean.

This whole game would've been amazing if it was packed with Back In Time

There will be micro transactions added. Do you see that gem icon on the battlepass screen? Saying the battlepasses are free for the first 2 seasons just isn’t true when to get the one for season 2 you have to pay €10 extra for the deluxe edition. Besides you have to pay money to play these games in the first place so describing any of this as free isn’t true. You could say included at no extra cost.

Ripper Roo looks awesome. Didn’t get the game but great character design for him.

I agree with everything you’ve said in the video, but I do like to add another issue I had with this game being balance. Even though it’s nice to have a variety of play styles to pick from instead of copy and paste, there is some character that are annoying to go against such as coco and n trophy. I’m really this game so far, but I believe it still has some work to do before I even recommend it as well.

Crash Team Rumble feels like the definition of modern day gaming, when PS1, PS2 or earlier games would be released, develepers would work hard to make the finished product as good as it could be, now it feels like the games just get released half finished.

I wish Spyro got the same love as Crash.

I’m actually mad with what happened with Crash on the run… your thoughts are mine, I saw it doing better than lots of apps and it was still in the top 100 before it got taken down. It makes no sense at all and bothers me heavily.

Played 10 games of the free trial, repetative, controls felt off, combat was mostly button mashing, and it all felt like no matter i did it didn't make much difference as to which team would win, out of my control Would never pay a dime for this

I'll be honest, initially I had concerns that video title might be perceived as a tad bit clickbaity, but having watched the video in full, and hearing your review, I can agree with you on almost everything. The only thing I'll disagree with is telling people to hold off until Season 2. I think people should just get stuck in right now, especially as Ripper Roo just dropped today. The more players the better, and it gives them a chance to get up to speed while it's relatively fresh to everyone. Otherwise great review. Appreciate that you've taken the measured approach in concluding that it is quality over quantity, even if there's too much of the former and not enough of the latter. Though I think I personally prefer that to the contrary.

It doesnt matter that they reuse assets, they added many new elements and added to that offer you a "new" online gameplay that I have never seen before, if they have a good life service for this game, this could get an amazing game over years

This game is a moba though, in design. A platformer moba. A lot of those collectables you list that boost your characters in some way are the same things in Mobas. The secondary objective which helps you with the primary objective more. Instead of an RPG moba it is a Platformer moba. The game focuses on objectives over player killing, each character has unique abilities, you are stuck with a character for the entire match which leads to extreme issues down the line. It rewards team play far more then other games typically do. The stuck with a character thing means once "meta strategies" and "toxic strategies" start forming people will be pushed into picking those more. You have to play toxic because you don't know if your opponent is or not. It leads to a snowball effect and why mobas get such bad communities over time. It lacks character switching so if you don't pick with your opponents being toxic or meta in mind you'll be suffering for the duration of the match.

Once they've got most crash and spyro characters I'm just saying this would be he perfect game to bring back a handful of Skylanders (Like just Stealth Elf and maybe eruptor) obviously once they've done other Crash characters Like I'm shocked Tiny Is Just no where to be seen but we get some weird Bat person

Literally any other franchise trying something new = people giving it a chance and seeing where it can shine or venture onto new things. Crash doing the same but not identically = doom and gloom franchise ded wah wah. Whilst some criticisms are 100% understandable, most of the reviews that are under 6's 7's are quite stupid in my eyes. There's no denying that even we, the ones playing and enjoying the game, have our own criticisms. By no means this is a 9 or 10 out of 10. It has the CHANCE to be at least an 8 or 9, but a 10 would be a very big stretch. They'd have to add quite a bit of things including game modes and new flavours that would spice up gameplay more than anything. For now, it's a simple game that's easy to get into with each character essentially being that learning curve alongside the various maps each of them uniquely traverse. Solid review, Leo.

I don't know much about Crash team rumble, but I hope it has a story cutscenes like in Crash Bash. It made the game more exciting for me.... what I also hate is that apparently they want to replace tumblrTawna with OG Tawna... and as someone who was excited to have OG Tawna back, I was not pleased to hear that.

Anticheat doesn't stop cheats, the cheats just improve to the point where they are identical to high skill human play. Console players don't want to play with PC because for them it is a loss even without cheats the control difference is big enough and ultimately PC is the best device to play on ignoring cheats which can't be stopped only delayed. As someone who uses both PC and Console, you need to learn these things. Console players do not ultimately enjoy playing with PC unless they are with their PC friends but even that doesn't hold up when going against PC players. Forcing Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo players to suffer so you can win as PC isn't right.

I am a Crash Bandicoot fan since little age. And the new Crash Team Rumble is a great game in my opinion. But there is room for improvement. First of all it needs a team chat or voice chat. It is frustrating when teammates don't play their role. And ot should not be allowed to have the same character in one team more than once. A few more game modes would be nice for the long run. And maybe a ranked competetive mode. I don't think the Battlepass rewards are great enough to motivate players to continue playing just to unlock them all. Even though everything is included in the 30€ price. But the gameplay is really good and there are a lot more characters that could be added in the future. Just look at Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled. I hope many of that chars will be seen in Team rumble in the future. edit: they need better bots and a punishment system for people who leave matches early.

I was hesitant to buy the game like the rest of you. Figured the game would die and how it should have been free to play which I agree to but I was like I spent money on worde games and bought it and it’s actually really fun. It’s mindless fun until it’s not and you run into people who actually know what there doing and it gets really competitive and that’s where your moneys worth is at

I play with friends and the most hilarious thing to me is that the game is balanced kinda well? We’ll run into a level 100 N. Tropy and my cortex/dingodile buds will call them an unstoppable hacker, then I’ll just go over and stomp them as Tawna 💀 TFB has done a great job of making every character having a counter

I’d say 7-8 is a fair score, 6 is too mediocre for a generally fun game like Team Rumble but I do agree that it’s is flawed.

2:40 Oh come on now. The battle pass isn't free. They forced you into buying the 2 battle passes for what would've otherwise been a free-to-play game.

But you emphasied the trick perfectly........ the unlockable content is not "Free" as you paid for the game... a game which was originally slotted to be Free-To-Play as well as meant to be a game mode for Crash 4, ergo mentions of DLC plus the addition of the internet connection symbol to Crash 4 - Problem Number 1. Problem Number 2. While this game may be fun, they've ran a huge risk released 1 character a month in a similar model to CTRNF assuming it will work... and the longevity of this game is massively compromised - because no-one will be playing this game in 20 years as the online server hosting will inevitably be shutdown. Compared to playing the classic crash games or CTRNF in 20 years time... So what are you talking about "worth $30 now for the future" - I entirely disagree with you there, it won't be good in the future. The reality is you'll put the dust covered disk in for it to say "can't connect to server" and have a nice main menu to look at. I very much extremely doubt they'll add a fully fledged single player, that's wishful thinking considering the effort for the staff involved and the fact they were clearly desperate as a company to "just deliver this project" now following the delays. So if anything they will add a half-assed game mode or two down the line but will it be worth it? .... looking at N-verted modes and Ring Rally's........ no, probably not! I'm one of the biggest crash fans, yet haven't purchased this yet for these reasons alone - plus I much prefer couch co-op so while I want to play as my boi Ripper Roo that is not enough for me to pay money for a temporary and limited amount of fun. I like adventure and collectibles, which is why I'd even prefer replaying Smash over this, and why I'd rather invest my time in Zelda TOTK or something as there is simply better stuff to play right now

"the unlockable content is not "Free" as you paid for the game" WHAT??? That's literally... how... every game... works... You buy Super Smash Bros. and still play to unlock the characters. You buy this game and play to unlock the characters. Your logic makes ZERO sense and contradicts itself. Maybe you're just scared of being bad at the game, so you're thinking of excuses not to play. Smash also still makes you pay for DLC characters and Mii skins, and altogether it cost over DOUBLE the original game price. Crash Team Rumble lets you unlock all of that and future DLC for free. Only the Battle Pass will require money, and not until 3 seasons in. So Rumble is actually WAY more generous than Smash by your own logic.

Crash team rumble seems OK

Hopefully this game can get skylander reps in the future

My qualm with the game really lies within the unlocks. I’m not interested in emblems, emblem boarders, backgrounds, emotes, or music. Gimme skins and cosmetics. Fun time thought. Going to be better when more characters shake things up.

you lost me when you said the characters would be behind a paywall if the game was f2p... when has a f2p game ever done that? every character in overwatch 2 is unlockable by just playing the game and it's from the same company

It’s a simple and childish moba if u like it cool but if not I understand and u don’t gotta play it

I mean you are right with a lot of things about the game It is actually fun But that bit about CTR, you can in fact unlock everything in the shop by just playing but if you are connected to the servers. And talking about the game being 30 dollars, not being f2p, not having mtx, when there is a 0Diamond next to your name in the BP screen, when after Season 2 we don't now what are they gonna do, is a little bit misleading. Probably the game will go F2P with a PC launch (hopefully) and they will add Mtx, they will start charging for characters. Because we don't know the plan for the future of the game. I think we could wait and revisit your review after a few months to see how good it was or how outdated will become

I agree with this, to say "This game isn't predatory" when we see in 6 months it is going to change is a very stupid stance to take. This was the most common way to introduce MTX and why people are so paranoid because you have to be. If it is unclear from day 1 then it isn't worth trusting. Trust is earned by not being suspicious. This backlash and fear might be the thing preventing them from making it MTX heavy despite the fact Activision has been wanting to cause this. Something that wasn't done with Call of Duty and now look at it.
