The most expensive skatepark in the world ? - F51 Skatepark, Folkestone UK
F51 Skatepark in Folkestone is somewhere I've been itching to go since I first saw it was under construction during the pandemic, and despite it being open for quite some time now I had still not made it down there yet to try it out for myself ...Yet !
Thursday was by day off work and with nowhere to skate locally for various reasons it seemed like perfect timing to take that road trip down south.
So I organised to meet up with Ted and Tay Cunningham and Chester Pegg (Tay is an F51 ambasador for obvious reason when you see him skate) and they showed me how it can really be skated.
Its big but beautiful and I had an amazing time, cant wait to get back there, look out for a couple of 5050's i managed to squeeze in the deep end too.

@@carlopolli3995 I have no idea but it’s hard to see how with how quiet the sessions are. I don’t know the business model or whether they even need to turn a profit .
What a cool park never knew it was there defo worth a look for sure.

Thanks 👍🏻 it’s pretty epic but kinda strange that it’s slightly more comfortable to ride than some small tighter ones , once you get over the idea of the height.
It's way bigger than it looks on film in person 😂

It’s almost in France 😂 it was so much fun and an amazing place, it’s a big bowl but not as big as a lot of the ones overseas. We need more bigger ones in this country or our up coming new skaters don’t stand much of a chance in world competitions if they don’t have the facilities to practice.

I went there I would recommend really nice people not just there all around Folkestone and there’s a skate shop across the road they have a beach near and it is bigger than it looks
Surely the fast train from St. Pancras would have been a better option? Only takes about an hour. When I went it was deserted as well. Apparently the local skaters have boycotted the facility because the owner demolished their old skatepark on the sea front. It's an amazing facility just a little too advanced for me (at the moment!).

Yeah probably will do next time, I wanted to be in control of my travel for a first time visit, it was a last minute decision to go and I wasn’t sure how long I was going to stay etc.
