    You won't be disappointed. Make a weekend of it and camp at Big Pine Flats. If you get done fast, there is plenty of other trails in the area.

I feel I needed to go tackle it b4 I go in a group and slow everyone down .. I did the trail the other way .. hope to get out with you all soon .. #socaljeepjunkies .. God bless

    This is one of those trails where you don't need to worry about slowing people down. So much scenery to take in. As for hitting the trails together, sounds like a plan.

    Great video, I love that you guys ran it from East to west which I strongly believe is the harder route. Since you have gravity on your side when crawling through the middle rock garden when traveling West to East…. I ran this a few weeks ago and struggled just like you guys did in the middle section. Probably took my buddy and I about 1-1.5 hours to get through it. Luckily no one else was on the trail.

    Yea that main rock garden you can pick a great line but it will rarely let you wheel it as you must be prepared to change course on the fly. I will play Devil's advocate though Josh and cannot agree with you that the Left line can be as difficult as the Right line. When that Right line is not stacked with rocks the gaps are wide and the boulders swallow up even 40 inch tires. It makes you work and wheel, I pretty much just cruise through the Left side when we are in " path of least resistance" mode. Really good vid. Keep up the nice work. Cheers! and Happy Wheeling.

    Normally i would agree with you 100% as you are right on target. I imagine you probably wheeled the trail in the last month as it seems like you are on the trails more than me, but boy that left line was a mess when we ran it. If the right line is an 8, the left was probably a 7 when we were on it where it is normally a low 6. I am not complaining by any means, but i am going to guess people will clear the rock blocking the easier line and things will return to normal.

    It’s hard… but sidewinder/ mottino was is harder IMO!

  • @JeepAdventures

    @JeepAdventures

    Жыл бұрын

    So why I say this is the hardest is because of the required or easiest line through the trail. If you do the harder options, motino and dishpan have harder stuff on them. But if you do the easiest line on the trail, that center rock garden when wet which is 80-90% of the year is hard. As for side winder, what part are you talking about?

  • @ajstar89

    @ajstar89

    11 ай бұрын

    @@JeepAdventures I'll take that center rock section any day. It's just slippery. Sidewinder is 1/4-1/2 mile of constant crawling. It's narrower, has larger step ups, bigger rocks and is more technical to maneuver in. I personally think the section that has the huge split rock on the right that everyone take photos with, narrow squeeze section in the middle, and the left with a split crawl over is the hardest section on the mountain period. We ran it a few weeks ago and everyone with 40's is digging the trail in adding to the experience. Holcomb stays relatively the same, is maintained at times and doesn't really get dug in.

  • @JeepAdventures

    @JeepAdventures

    Which Sidewinder trail are you talking about? The one in Big Bear is intermediate on its best day. Motino is sort of hard but you have to take the harder lines for it to be "Hard". Send over google gps coordinates of Sidewinder.

  • @ajstar89

    @ajstar89

    @@JeepAdventures Sidewinder is what the bronco people call Motino wash. I hear what you're saying about lines but that's really all trails. IMO the average line in Motino is harder. Especially right now with most lines being dugout.

  • @JeepAdventures

    @JeepAdventures

    11 ай бұрын

    I get it, Mottino can get hard. I haven't seen in several months so not sure the current status. I also want to say when Holcomb is wet, it is harder, but when dry, is is much easier. Since the water is on the trail on average 10 months a year I take it as normal. But those late summer months, this trail is drastically easier without the slipping and sliding. Minus the mess that is in the center rock garden right now. Guess I need to get out to Mottino if we get a cool day.

  • @williambowden

    Motino Wash is the hardest trail

  • @JeepAdventures

    @JeepAdventures

    4 ай бұрын

    Motino flips and flops if it is hard. At times I would agree, but also depends on when you do Holcomb. If Holcomb is wet, which is like 8 to 9 months of the year, that center rock garden can get pretty hard. But if dry, its is way easier. Also depends on which way you run the trail. Dropping down the rocks is way easier then trying to climb up them.
