I love all the details in the Undyne level. You can fight or spare her to get different endings. If you kill her the screen warps to represent how she melts. You also don’t get the running part because you only have to run if you spare her. If you do spare her, you do get the running scene, and you can either choose to get Undyne water or not, which changes your ending too. And finally you can find that secret area to fight Undyne the Undying! Such a cool level.

I really enjoy how undyne is represented by a green cheep cheep

This undyne fight in smm2 has so many references to the actual undyne fight in undertale

Just a hint on "did you ever play this level before": It will show a red Mario-Flag in case you completed the level. Otherwise it shows nothing (never played it) or a white flag (never completed/ "gave up").

You aren't the first one to follow the blue platform trend. I made 2 levels back in January when this creator called M4ng0man made multiple levels called "Crazy Jumps" and I saw other people copy the style (it was literally just random blue platforms and saws and that was incredibly popular) so I made one called "Mad Jumps". Crazy Jumps 2 is like the 2nd most all-time popular super expert level... I made a sequel after my first one blew up which everyone else was doing with theirs too, but mine was at least harder and a bit more decorated. @David Foley Copy some type of popular level that isn't totally overused. Don't copy the level, but copy the idea it is using. Falling platform levels are surprisingly popular. Play a few of those and you'll probably get how they are made. If you don't like hard levels, you could try making something like the arcade level in this video. 4 different sections is probably enough. Music levels using popular or somewhat known songs are also cool, but you gotta learn how music blocks work.

In the level at 20:45 the first part he goes down is when you do the genocide route, the sound effect helping, while the door takes you to the normal fight. The first song is 'Battle Against a True Hero' and the second is 'Spear of Justice.' The down arrow I think is the spare or act button while the x is representing the flee button and is showing what happens when you flee from Undyne. The fish in the cloud being Undyne, while the skeletroopa is Sans or Papyrus (I can't remember right now). The 'Welcome to Hotlands' sign is what you see if you flee Undyne enough times without getting back into the fight. Hope this helped anyone confused! c:

theres a minigame in wii party (although it was probably invented a long time before then) where you have to flip over cards and if they have your mii's face on it 3 times in a row, you win. however, the other cards have other people's faces on them, thus allowing them to speed up the process of trial and error if you choose their cards. i think this could make for a fun multiplayer level, although i would never be able to make it because i have no friends to test it with

it’s crazy that you have # perfectPitch @PangeaPanga ...i’ve played piano since age 3 and while I have excellent relative pitch and maybe if I worked harder could develop it into an act as effortless as the way you hear tones and automatically know by the timbre, it’s just always fascinated me. I even play like 6-8+ instruments now and still can’t just pluck pitches out of thin air like that without thinking @4:24

Not that it matters, but, years ago (on Ryu's channel), I mentioned how it would be AWESOME if there was a dedicated set of map-making items for INDICATORS... which could be toggled on or off (by the user or player) in order to change difficulty. 😊 Personally, I think it's a fantastic idea. Granted, exactly zero people are likely to see this comment (and thus, get other game creators to notice and implement such ideas). The indicators could actually be icons of their own, and NOT merely 'coins' and facsimiles of what they're meant to indicate. They could be *actual* clip art, icons, or drawings, etc.

"THX" has its origin in Platform Racing 2 or 3, back then it was the only game that features a custom level building. Also noteworthy, it has infinite building space so writing things like "THX FOR PLAYING" isn't as hard as in SMM, but finding creative levels was more of a challenge. The best levels were skill requiring levels. Glitches were very common to find in the second part, so glitching through a wall using a long rod surrounded by water is a common thing, but making it so hard to get through was showing the skill required to beat it in the first place. The most famous level is probably on the front page but is very rarely played because it is a don't-move level where only the first or the laggiest player gets to the end because the glitch requires lots of explosive movement and rotation-misplace movement. Platform Racing 2 is also very unfair when it comes to hats, one can equip a hat they won in a match, there are a slow falling hat and other hat abilities, but the most wanted is the cowboy hat, as it gives the ability to fly and either very unfair or a curse. Getting hit by electricity while touching water doesn't kill you, but making you unable to move, any other hat doesn't automatically move you up as you get hurt, so they probably get moved into a bomb and lose their hat that way and the winner of the race gets all the hats before winning. I got my first cowboy hat after reaching lv50, and that only because I was playing a map meant to fight in and my opponent wanted to fight me, not win. (something like smash) I recommend it for the glitch cluster, but not for the hats that you receive at random with enough players present.

Ya know, you really should play Undertale at some point, even if you have been or think you have been spoiled on the general storyline. I think you might just appreciate it from a gameplay perspective alone. Despite its genre and your player character never actually jumping, there's paradoxically a surprising amount of kaizo platforming elements throughout the game. That's probably why a lot of the Undertale themed Mario Maker levels turn out so well.

The Goomber graves remind me of the mass graves after WWI

Undyne is at 20:45 you’re welcome Edit: since panga was confused on the three endings I’ll explain; going down is the genocide route where undyne musters up enough determination to cheat death and stop you from killing all of monster and humankind. Going to the door and then to the sword is neutral where you don’t kill everyone so undyne doesn’t become undyne the undying but you still kill her. Going to the door then the X is Mercy where you spare undyne in hotland, her armour heats up so you can give her water or just leave.

Undertale + SMM2 = *Tod the bulbous head skeleton.*

Omg that Undyne level is so smart.
