I just bought these! Most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. I have arthritis in my feet as well as bunions and plantar faceitis. Constant pain until I got these. On my feet all day long at work and they don’t feel tired and painful at the end of the day. I live in Saskatchewan where it’s been a hot hot 30 degrees Celsius most days and not one ounce of sweat. These runners breathe just fine in hot climates. I don’t run with them though, just speed walk due to my foot arthritis, but wow, I am so impressed! No sweaty feet. No stinky feet. So breathable and cool!

In regard to shoe cost, new shoes are expensive but they always have been in Australia. I think I was paying over $200 for Asics Kayanos 20 years ago. The good thing is that sales are bigger than ever. Unless the new version of a shoe is a massive update, last year’s model is not suddenly worthless. The Saucony Ride 16 is out now at $200-$220. I saw the Ride (and Guide) 15 at an outlet for $50. I know which one I’d go for, neither, but if you like the Rides I’m sure the 15s will do the job. On the Nimbus, I went out last weekend to grab a cushioned shoe. I tried the Nimbus 25, Glideride 3 and Novablast 3. I went for the Glideride 3 and for me it wasn’t even close. I think it’s just an amazing feeling shoe and wasn’t what I expected. I think that because of the way the sole is coloured with the FFBlast+ part of the midsole being the same as the upper, it doesn’t give the impression of being a max cushion shoe. I was interested in trying it, but thought it would be on the firmer side, when in reality it’s actually quite soft, bouncy and responsive. It does carry a little weight, but the responsiveness makes up for it. The Nimbus was soft, but didn’t do anything else for me. The Novablast was the biggest surprise, I didn’t like it at all. The Glideride 3 immediately made me excited to take them on a run. The Novablast made me want to take them off as they felt like running in cushioned, slappy business/dress shoes. Plenty of people love the Novablast 3 so I think I’m in the minority here. Regarding the upper of the Nimbus, I had the same concerns about the Glideride being too warm, but I’ve taken them out in temps of around 30 degrees and they’ve actually been fine, so maybe the Nimbus would be similar. I ran half marathon distance yesterday with the temperature in the high 20s and they did very well. I wasn’t wearing the thinnest socks I could either. Anyway, I enjoyed the review, thanks.

Great job on video, spot on regarding highlights of shoe. I just bought a pair 4 days ago and extremely happy with shoe.. I've had several pairs of Invincible 1 & 2, and while it was extremely cushioned, not stable at all, BUT EVERY SET OF INVINCIBLES -ALWAYS- HAD UPPER SEPARATE FROM ZOOMX FOAM.. Hence shifted over to Nimbus 25, placed in Dr Scholls spongy "running insole", AND I HAVE A BEAUTIFUL, CUSHIONED & STABLE "NIMBUS 25"!.. The Gel Nimbus25 is an expensive easy/recovery shoes but so is the Invincible3. I tried the Invincible3 in the shop but had issues with heel slippage despite tying with the runner’s loop. I got the Nimbus25 in wide and it is the most comfortable Asics shoes I’ve tried. The upper is not very breathable but I like the ride, not too soft not top firm😊 I had the Novablast3 but had issues with hotspots😢.

On the price of shoes, I'd certainly agree they are increasing quite dramatically, particularly as they're also getting more specialised so multiple shoes rotations are increasingly needed. I've just picked up brand new pairs of Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 for the workouts and races, NB 1080v12 for the easy/long runs and HOKA Challenger ATR 6 for the trails for less than the price of the Nimbus 25!

All terrible shoes. New Balance lost their way in recent versions of the 1080 I'm not a HOKA fan and think that FF Blast is awful. I haven't ran in the Novablast 3 but version 2 is like having a heavy ship strapped to your feet. I also wouldn't pay more than £110 max for an everyday shoe. Crazy with non plated shoes selling for between £170 and £200+ over the last 6 months.

@@terpreterin9777 Any shoe that I would consider wearing has to be approx 270g or under for my size 7.5 or 8 and under 220g for any race day shoe. I also like a decent foam. Current road shoes in my rotation are; 2 pairs of Endorphin Pro 3 New Balance Rebel v3 Metaspeed Sky and Sky+ New Balance 1080v11 (preferred V10 which I had two pairs of). New Balance RC Elite v2 Reebok Floatride Energy 3 (mainly saved for treadmill runs). Reebok Floatride Run Fast 2 (rarely worn these days but might use occasionally). 361 Flame (rarely used these days but still in good shape and run well for a carbon plated shoe with approx 300 miles on them). Endorphin Speeds are now retired but I would buy other pairs at the right price if available when I need to add that type of shoe to my rotation. Still using the NB Rebel v2 on some shorter runs and treadmill runs, despite a torn upper. Only major exceptions to this are my off road shoes which are mainly old. Inov8 Mudclaw 300g Saucony Peregrine 7 (not sure on weight as it's an old shoe that's rarely worn). Brooks Catamount (fairly light for an off-road shoe with a rock plate in and fairly lively on firmer trails too). I also have the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro that I am picking up today (so as yet are untested). Also got the Endorphin Elite on order but still not arrived yet. They will be kept for racing only if I feel that they are going to work for me. I know that I have a distinct lack of what they classify as daily shoes in my rotation now. Constantly on the look out for good options at cheap prices. Don't really want to pay much more than £100 to £120 max on daily shoes. Interested in trying some Skechers (if I can get hold of some) and Puma dailies maybe at the right price. Think that I am good with what I have for this training block.

I think the trend is towards not selling you one shoe, but as you said, a pair of shoes. A long run, squishy shoe, and something firmer or even carbon plated for speed. That's not great for budget conscious or casual runners, but worth the investment. That investment has grown quite a bit over the last couple years though...

Just a small comment as an overweight guy: I had Nimbus 22, but it was a bit wobbly, and having a lot of weight strains ankles. I have switched to shoes with a lot less of cushioning and no drop, and I have much fewer feet problems. So my own experience has led me to think that the advice "more weight - more padding" is actually not helpful.

I got a pair of Hoka Bondi 8’s for Christmas and have been using them to go on errands to get used to the arch support as I have flat feet and arch support can be uncomfortable as they’re my first pair of trainers with arch support. I asked for them bc I’ve heard they have relatively good shock absorption, which is something I need once I start working out and running more. I’m relatively new to running trainers since I usually wear converse and vans

I really like ASICS shoes, I have used them for years for squash and running. I have a pair of Nimbus 22's that have done close to 700 miles, the uppers and soles are still good but unfortunately the cushioning has almost gone now. The breathability of the uppers was great and had no overheating even running in the hot summers. I bought a pair of Nimbus 24's last November, couldn't justify the cost of the 25's and didn't want to go down to the 8mm drop. They have the same upper as the 25's and even though comfortable, I find them quite warm even in these cooler temperatures so not looking forward to running in them in the summer.

Prices are getting silly but everything has gone up recently as you know. If we still had supermarket receipts from two years ago and compared them to today everything would be 20-30% higher! Good review but I'll probably swerve these, £175 is too much for an easy shoe. I'm a big 1080v12, Pegasus 38, Invincible and Novablast fan. I tend to mix those up for my easy runs and of course always try to find deals/offers when buying them. If these Nimbus's drop to £70-90 in a few months time I might give them a spin then but certainly won't at £175.

Not that I ever would, but some people run with no socks. Don't do it in this shoe because the pull tab on the tongue is sharp and will cut you. I ran with no-show socks and the tongue tab kept scratching my foot. Otherwise, so far, this shoe is "the most comfortable". If you combined the Glideride 3 with the Novablast 3 you'd get a Gel Nimbus 25... IMHO. I think it's more versatile than it's getting credit for. I love it for recovery and pillar runs.

Result is a cruel irony - a supremely comfortable shoe that ends up supremely uncomfortable if you live in hotter climates! Goddam it Asics - fix the ventilation and you have a perfect recovery shoe. So close to perfection in my opinion but, sadly, totally unsuited to hot temperatures.

Hi do you have a video explaining the different classifications of runs? many reviewers discuss differences between easy runs, long runs, recovery runs, daily trainers and then tempo/interval runs. what is the difference between these 2 runs in terms of effort, pace and heart rate? i understand the tempo and hiit intervals but confused about the lower intensity categories. i'm a fairly new runner and follow garmin's daily suggested workouts which classify runs into base, long, recovery threshold, , and the high intensity ones. i train with heart rate so the first 3 are all the same zone 2 intensity just slightly different time lengths. thanks and great videos.

Nb as a brand is under talked about period. Regular folks like Nike, Adidas. Shoe geeks prefer Saucony, Asics and, say, Hokas. It's fine... I used NB for 20+ years due to their wide sizes...personally, I find their shoes aesthetically very pleasing esp. Rebel v2. Surely, some models look better than others, personally taste. V3 kinda dull imo...

I have the Novablast 3, which is a great shoe but I wish they were a little more stable. I also have the More v4 but I find them too soft; like running in sand. Interesting that you say the Nimbus is softer because I tried them at the store and they felt relatively firm. Of course, I'm only 135 lbs. so maybe I can't compress the foam as much. Also, I thought the Nimbus had a much sharper, but later, rocker, while the More v4 has a early, sloping rocker.

Hi ben I also didn’t get on with the invincible 3 and have sent it back I’m also a massive fan of version 1 and 2 for me they are the goat🐐 easy run shoes/ daily trainers The 3 was too stiff less bouncy ,less soft and it just lost the of the magic of the 1 and the 2 I suspect because of the board they put in it , the first two it’s just foam under the insole/sock liner no board It would have still been a okay shoe but I had a major issue with the lock down at the back of the shoe I had to heel lock the lances really tight to try to limit the heel slip but made it uncomfortable and didn’t completely solve the issue Also the upper around my ankle seemed to almost cut into my ankle
