Game was good and then they ruined the gameplay less than a year after it started with the updates.

There are a few games that are trying to bring back the original feel of Paragon. The one that me and my friends play is called predecessor. Its pretty new, and its blatently obvious that it is. Theres only like 20 heroes and updates are somewhat slow, but this is the game the original developers thought was the closest to their original vision. I encourage everyone to try it out.

It's always bittersweet to see games use them. Beautiful models, but always a reminder of Paragon not making it

Never seen a game tank so hard from one patch. It was insane.

i do not think it patch, it more like people aren't coming in as they thought to be, so its making low money while spending big money for it to be sustained and then fortnite came into the scene so the overhauled everything

That is really a good guy greg move for them. APEX Mobile will be shutting down with no refunds.

I miss this MOBA, played it heavily during beta and loved the feel of it. Sad Epic had to focus on Fortnite.

there is predecessor as well, its really close to the original paragon and it will release this year for free. currently there is a paid early access. dont waste your time with overprime, this remake is crap and feels like a mobile game. predecessor it is, try it out

now we got overprime (free and based from paragon) and you can play it from steam. For me overprime is pretty solid and arcadey, it have feels like mobile phone moba but its fun. There is another moba based from paragon too in steam but its not free and i didnt remember the title

They were fucking awful. The fact your elo didn’t decay after say a month’s break also was so disheartening so you just redownload and wait a fucking hour to just play a round due to how borked the mmr is and how low the player count was

@@bracat69 it did not relaunch. there ale a few studios who use their assets to recreate the game in their way. predecessor and overprime are the two main ones, who didnt get canceled. overprime is crap to be honest, it feels like a mobile game. predecessor is very nice, it will release this year for free, its currently in paid early access

@@owy99ah thx imma check it out when its out. Ive played multiple mobas but overprime is probably the worst one till now. The only plus is the graphics. I still get pleased in bot lobbys and 50% of the time the Eu servers are down so i need to play at Na servers with 300 ping.

Yall remember the old Epic Games Launcher that had only paragon, fortnite, and ut?

My friend and I used to play smite back then on the PS4, I remember we both saw this and we were both so excited for it and we played it so much while it was live, it was so good

If you guys miss this game, well good news there are two games trying to be its successor. The first one is entirely free to play call OverPrime which goes off the early days of Paragon with a “sprint mode” mechanic and fast paced fights. OverPrime has ranked, stats progression and everything you’d expect from a MOBA but has some big issues with the matchmaking taking longer due to the strict mmr alongside big server issues that still haven’t been resolved. Predecessor is a paid early access title (cheapest entry was ten bucks until they took away the early buyer discount) at twenty bucks but is based off the Monolith update. Map is smaller but the gameplay is extremely refined despite lacking in the content department since it doesn’t have ranked, stats or the hero pool OverPrime has. It’s matchmaking however is fast at 2-3 mins at minimum even at dead times depending on server however your match quality will vary so keep that in mind. Overall if you are a Paragon fan or were curious about it and hated the card system, these two successors are fun and removed that godawful card system with a familiar item shop like all other MOBAs have.

I own a hard copy. This game was mad fun

I played Paragon back than. I liked the first few rounds but quickly got disinterested when stuff like the minimap or the card building where broken.

I've played a lot MOBA's and it was definitely one of the better alternatives to your standard dota/lol. Found it a real shame when it got dropped as I really saw some potential in the game and it was hella fun.

it was actually quite fun. Was sad to see it die.

I played paragon so much on PS4 it was so fun man. I hate it had to go but it was great while it was here.

Still have the data installed in my ps4 including all the free assets given away before it's shutdown. Hope they patched it to function offline tho. I love to play a quick game even against bots. Awsomnauts is also a hidden moba gem.

It's like Vainglory. Killed by the devs.

Paragon failed because Epic Games wanted Fortnite Battle Royale to succeed. I was an early adopter of both and was super into Fortnite Save the World. When they stopped working on STW and put all resources into BR I was salty because I didn't care about BR. At this point STW was out for about 6 months and I had about 200 hrs into it. I requested a refund on STW and all microtransactions through support because I was salty and they gave me a full refund without any resistance and during the refund they also gave me a full refund on Paragon without me asking for it. I was a little hurt because I expected them to refuse the refund and say they were still working on STW but now, years later, I tried to log into STW and expected my account to be reset but they let me keep everything I had before the refund.

I was there from the beggining i remember it like it was yesterday beautiful game amazing graphics and character designs then they started doing some updates changed the maps and card systems and just went to shit it was honestly sad cuz it holds a place in my heart till this day luckily a few studios are trying ti remake and one even had a beta for ps5 its called overprime the pragaon and predecessor imo overprime is superior but both have their own place

guys they really bring back paragon again although now from netmarble but still they bring back it again. it's still early access though

i honestly find it insane that SMITE's lasted this long

It’s not that it didn’t gain traction, there were many playing it with overwhelming servers, Epic just didn’t care about it, same as Gigantic. Of course don’t quote me on anything I say, but I also believe I heard that Epic didn’t release the assets, the smaller group in charge of the production did. Also it’s still playable on steam with many people making great Predecessors.

In an alternate timeline Fortnite was cancelled and this game became one of the famous games of all time.

I don't know what the gameplay was like but honestly if your games main selling point is looks, death was beyond deserved. Gameplay over graphics people.

Still hate epic games for that move. Shut down the paragon servers to exchange them for fortnite servers. They could have made millions with paragon just like league. But at least a chinese game developer is bought the paragon „files“ and is making a version off it due to realese in 2023 lets see if it will be good. Can’t remember the name tho but i remember stuff about it was released about it on the paragon reddit page

I'm not sure why its not mentioned, but "Paragon the Overprime" is on steam, and its pretty much identical (as far as I'm aware) to the original that got cancelled, and its free

Paragon Overprime is more of a fast pace version of the original, If you want the OG Paragon, I suggest Predecessor.
