I have only 2 mild complaints about this particular build. First, I want to disclose the fact that I would own and buy this particular car, so I'm not talking crap. But #1, they put too much layer of paint and/or bondo, you can hardly see the bodyline that runs from the side/middle of the body, this line runs from the front fender, all the way to the rear and then drops down at the end/rear. This kind of takes away some of the beauty of the bodylines. Perhaps it's just the video why you can't see it. #2, he removed the chrome trim that starts/runs around the front wheel well and runs all along the car all the way to the back wheel well. This car would have looked a lot more beautiful if the owner wouldn't have removed that.

The new Bentley coupe stole some style cues from the 65 Riviera for it's interior. Similar dash, center console and gas pedal.

Agree this is a stunning car. Paint is perfection. Look and stance are spot on. Whole car is a great package. Have always had a soft spot for these '65 Riviera's. Grew up with a guy who in the mid-70s had a '65 Skylark. It had all the toys for the day and could rip the tires off as well. His dad went out and bought a '66 RIviera because he loved the Skylark so much but wanted 'one better' then his son.

God that’s one of my dream cars. Someday I’ll have a ‘65 Riv and a ‘69 Roadrunner in my garage

I like how Andy is saying "...it's not a low rider, it's not a hot rod. It's somewhere in between." When I first saw the image of the car on the video cover, that was exactly what I was thinking. So he nailed his vision. One of the really cool things about building or working on your own car, especially if it isn't perfectly stock, is that there is plenty of room for creativity and personality. And that idea applies even when making only subtle changes that keep original styling, as Andy did so nicely on his 65. Another great video AutotopiaLA!! Keep them coming!

Beautiful 65 Riviera, I'm also a Big Buick guy. I have 3 Buicks. I also just bought a 65 Riviera less than year ago it's seafoam green. It's coming along really Good, all original, green interior. Just found it online one Saturday morning after looking for months, almost everyday. I hope to post Videos of my Buicks one day. My Baby is a 60 Buick Electra, Gloss Black Laquer Paint. It's a pedal start car. My kids call it the Batman Car. I Love Classics, take care everyone.

The 1963 through 1965 Buick Riviera's are the most beautifully designed cars that I have ever seen in my life. I've tried to buy a couple and they were always Out Of Reach. Beautiful car

Those Rivs are some of the most beautiful designs to come out of Detroit. This is an awesome example.

My favorite cruiser in the world! Would prefer this over any Impala, Lincoln Continental or Cadillac any day.

T L I totally agree man. There’s something to be said about appreciating of the heritage of the vehicle. Especially in this case with the nailhead known to be sometimes quirky and demanding.

@@tl5108 I think a lot of people go with the LS because it's cheap and reliable. Horsepower is nice, but a guaranteed crank, and cheap widely available parts are arguably the bigger perks. I want a '72 Chevelle with an LS1 simply for reliability's sake.

@@MuShinnen thats fair but at the same time, with the internet now. Its not hard to find a lot of parts for just about anything, unless you have something really oddball. Granted, nothing is as cheap as an LS or SBC

@@AutotopiaLA it was good to see someone sticking with the old engine platform. Too often we go straight for LS or Coyote swaps, which are awesome. But seeing someone stick with the old power plant shook it up. Great build.

Always been one of my favourite cars. Someone bought a 1963 silver one he parked in his drive in London around the corner to our house. This was back in 1965 when I was 10. It was on my cycle route. The swine also had a Matchless 650. Love what's been done to this one.

Sooo clean and understated! Love the stock but updated where needed engine compartment. It's obviously money well spent on perfect body lines, paint, and killer interior. It's a driver, not a show piece, and that's what makes it great!

if done right, the Riv's counterparts, the 67-70 Eldo and 66-70 Toro make super mild customs too. the key is knowing when to stop, and this Riv is a master class

Very cool vid! Just one step above a low rider in my opinion, a simple cruiser with the modern day touch ups to keep it safe and reliable. Probably one of the most coolest hideaway headlight designs I've seen on an American Classic, aside from a first generation RS package Camaro of course!
