one good thing about fwd vehicles, there harder to stop, and they don't need the back wheels to keep going, so if the back wheels brake or get jammed, it can still run, plus it has a bit more power

It is a cavalier rally sport 4 door sedan. The door literally says so. Plus the wheels only came on the cavalier RS.

Shows how tough those 2.2L are. My friend had a 2.2L S10 and he was hard on that poor truck but it never stopped running, later on he sold it to a girl needing a vehicle and she still got more years out of that little truck, I couldn't believe it! lol

The fire dept is called when a car is on fire....they arrive, in full bunker gear, and scba, and put it out with a hoseline. But have a car fire in a demo derby, and all rules out the window, lol....fire extinguishers, and street clothes ! lol go nuts boys !

Chill people. How are you supposed to tell what kind of car that is when the video starts near the end of the heat and it's compacted and shredded beyond recognition. That was a very entertaining heat, just wish I could have seen the whole thing. Man that was funny to watch. Have to say.

Chevy is an american baised company. Toyotas and hondas are importes yet both have multiple manufacturing plants in the usa. Also the cavalier is not a toyota. Toyota rebadged a second gen cavalier however and sold it in other countries.

These cavaliers for some reason are just tough as nails. Toyota and GM used to sell the cavalier in Japan. They called it the Toyota Cavalier. Google it

The first and second generation Cavaliers aren't related to Toyota at all. The third generation does have a Toyota counterpart, but the one in the video is a first or second generation. I guess you could call it an import since it was built in America and brought to Canada, but I'm sure some of the other cars in the arena were also built in America.

What derby allows a car that caught fire to keep running? I've never seen that before. I guess if they'll allow a marshmallow FWD car to run in the same heat as a full-size truck and a roundback wagon, they're running a pretty loose ship.

99 percent of derbies allow 1 fire. If you have a second fire your done. As far as all the different kind if vehicles it happens a lot, here it was a mechanics heat but we call it a clean up class. 100 bucks buy in and winner take all. Any car from any class. They know what they are signing up for.

Yes, you are right. Don't get me wrong, i love the american DD. But Demolition Derby in the U.S is more like a thea party, compared to Banger Race in Europe
