I'm amazed at what Black was able to accomplish on the PS2. We're talking a machine that has a 300 Mhz CPU with 32MB of ram. The fact that this isn't a slideshow is a miracle.

This game brings me back so many memories as a kid. One of the most unique and obscure FPS game made for the PS2, and to think it's made by the guys who've made Burnout is amazing. Black is a combination of both Killzone and COD.

I love that the cutscenes look like a guy with a camcorder recorded at his local AMC

This game was my late father's all time fav!!! he bought me PS2 but he never really played it himself until i introduced him to this game! i loved watching him getting immersed into the game though he didnt really understand English that much, and so i spent countless nights with him teaching, playing and translating stuff for him, which is a core memory material for me, we had sooo much fun:D he REALLY wanted to see the future of gaming especially the post-PS3 era but sadly he's gone before he could witness it himself, but hey, i got a lot to tell once i meet him later in another life! Thanks for bringing this game to my attention again man, great video as always, keep up the good work! much love❤

I remember when I was 13 playing this for the first time and just being mind-blown by the graphics.

I played Black on the original xbox back in the day and I loved it but was never able to complete the last difficulty option. I was blown away by how good the effects of this game looked and it is still a shame that we never got a Black 2. Awesome video as always

Black was such an interesting title. I still remember how they had to dial back environmental destruction, because it turned out with the original amount a lot of playtesters were unable to progress because the level was just too destroyed to get to the next part. Amazing.

I remember reading a review of this game before it came out and one of the big selling points of BLACK was its destructible environments - buildings would topple, windows get smashed, chunks of walls would come out with explosions - it was incredible for its time. I wanted to play it so bad, but when I saw it for sale I didn't really have the money for another game, so I never played it. Very interesting to watch a video about it after so many years.

I emulated this last year and BOY it is one unique, action packed, impactful, explosive and RAD shooter. It's absolutely in your face and there's SO much to blow up and make particles that it's mind blowing

Remember watching my dad play this but never did myself, might be time to go dig it up and bust out the crt tv. Great video man keep it up

I always felt like Black was a prototype take on Medal of Honor in a modern setting, considering it was an FPS by EA. Sure enough, Medal of Honor would eventually make that leap into modern warfare (no relation to Call of Duty Modern Warfare). Hope you're feeling better by now Evan

This was such a badass game. This, like SoCOM 3 on PS2 are like Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem and Doom on the PC back in the day. True Masterpieces.

I loved that game when it was new. It was on Xbox game pass so I said hell yeah brother and gave it a couple more run throughs. Still feel like it holds up so 9/10.

Great video man,love the stand up shtick very cool. You took me back to the good old days. I played this game over and over, can’t get enough of the tense atmosphere, chunky explosions, teeth rattling gun sounds, bullets thudding into bodies, ping sound of helmets being hit and of course the agonising screams and yells of the enemy as you kill them. Criterion nailed it right out of the box. Love the Burnout games too, insane mayhem racing.

The 'Luckily I had today's sponsor.... nothing" line had me in stitches. Loving the content!

Bought this when i was a teenager for ps2 and after a day the disk doesn’t work at all just freezes. Always want to finish it. Man those were the no worries days! All summer non stop gaming with my cousins.

I remember I really used to like some of the realistic gun mechanics that this game had. Especially being able to set your gun to full-auto, semi-auto, or burst fire.

Always a good day when there's a new vid to watch! I totally forgot about this game man, remember playing it with my cousin! Hope you are on the mend now too, voice sounded fine 👌🏼

Love this game so much back it the day.found all the hidden weapons,the headshots are so satisfying. Too bad theres no sequel. I love the Gun showoff video that play when you do nothing at the start menu for a while.

I always enjoy watching your vids, wether its something I knew about, or I learn about some new gem, and your narative smooth voice just helps it all, seriously, do e-books, I could listen all day.

BLACK was a fun game to play, I was in high school when it came out. (I have BLACK for Original XBOX) This game plays and looks better on the Xbox Series X 😎🤘🏽🎮

I remember being 9 and playing this on my ps2. Struggled way too much to get past the border on the second mission and since english isn't my first language, I was pretty much stuck after that. I didn't know how to progress and then 2 weeks passed and I never touched it again although I regret not finishing it. For some reason however, this game remained somewhere in the corners of my memory for the cool sound design and technical feats for a video game at the time.

I wish this game would get a rerelease for modern consoles and PC

The TimeSplitters 2 sounds get a Pavlovian reaction out of me.

I've had this game for a while on the Xbox One and Series X for a while (picked it up from a EnterainMart years earlier) and I still think of this as one of my favorite FPS games (besides the 2016 Doom).

I first encountered this game on a modded xbox I got off ebay just a few years back. Loved the hell out of it.
