This is fabulous but the drillpro comes in a bit more favored in my usecase as i usually get my wood pre-cut and particle board too and assemble on site of my DIY living in an apartment does not allow for a full workbench with clamps and the integrated hole for drilling the larger hole for other joinery comes in handy without removing the already tightened assembly. Marvelous video again friend.

Wow! Dennis we are back to our "awesome" 16/9 (1080p) HDTV. Thank you kind Sir. For, modern hand phones are OK. But when they are used on TV's and Monitor; it's NOT good. UNLESS they turn the phone 90 degrees. Yes...there are times; when it can be straight up!. Like a tower, etc. But for most of the time; when that large black nothing on each sides, is for the birds. Thanks again Dennis, and as I have said, "You are THE 'Cut-Above' in DIY'rs channels". We ❤always dear friend. Keep it going. For we❤it!

Thanks for the review Dennis. I'm very happy with my dowelmax, but out of those you showed, I think I'd prefer the drillpro because it has more drill guides. The less you have to stop your workflow to reposition a tool to keep things moving, the better. Merry christmas and happy new year!

Dennis….I now own Two of these jigs. I am simply more confused than ever. I like both of them. I use both of them only in different aplacations. I used one on one build then after fussing with the same jig on a different job I removed it and went with the other… Which one? I own both of the two you compared. I agree with you 100% that I use the same one that you did on cabinet work. I just felt like I was spot on accurate. When doing cabinets accuracy screams back at you. You did a great job presenting them. I posted up a review before. This time I came in from my shop after using them side by side on a paying job and posted this review up… Very good comparison. I just built the cost of the jig into the total job cost. Easy !

Another great review Dennis it's all very confusing given the number of jigs out there, too choose the best for a particular task so your reviews help a lot. It's great to see you spending time with your Family, they help to keep you young 😆. My daughter recently had her first child a few weeks ago so we now have six Grandchildren, two boys and four girls 😁 to keep us busy, especially at Christmas. Sadly we lost our family dog "Barney" at the end of November he was only nine, but I know he had a great life with us and was such a character. I suffered a house fire this year, and every tool....from screwdriver to table saw....was destroyed. at age 77, it could easily be the end of my furniture making, but the "bug" will surely strike again, and I'm always interested in your tool reviews. Thank You and Merry Christmas to you and yours There is a self centering dowel jig available in the US that is simple and easy to use except it’s not usable for the middle of panels.

Just considering doweling jigs and watched the previous videos yesterday. How fortunate to see this waiting under the Christmas tree for me this morning! Happy holidays!

Correct me if I'm wrong: The fatal flaw in all these precision "Made in China" doweling jigs is their drill bit bushings are made of aluminum (and not hardened steel)? An aluminum bushing vs a steel drill bit is not going to fare well over time.

For those of us in the US, it would be nice if these tools came in SAE sizes. The metric versions would require too much retooling to be practical.

I just got the Drill Pro a few days ago and even though it's the lowest rated of the three doweling jigs I really believe you couldn't go wrong with any of them.

The dowelmax is another kind of doweling jig and even more into furniture joining. The Dowelmax is also more overbuild and of exceptional quality. I have had a Dowelmax clone, but from a bad quality, so not comparable from that point of view. But I did not liked the way it worked. I find this easier. But again, when you want to make chairs, the Dowelmax is hard to beat.

I will never buy anything from bang good again! I ordered a dowel cutter that had imperial sizing. They sent me the metric version. I contacted the customer service and they said I could return it and get a replacement but I had to pay for the shipping?! They mixed up the order yet the customer has to pay to correct it? Also potentially wait weeks for the replacement? I asked for a partial refund, they said no because there wasn't anything wrong with the item!!! It was the wrong thing, so yes fundamentally there was something wrong with it! If fact, I didn't order that item! There are to many other online retailers that stand behind their service that I will do my business elsewhere.

Very expensive in Europe and France not sure why so ill take a miss on this one

Love these videos but I'm honestly a little scared to buy stuff from Banggood. I've read SO many horror stories about them. Curious if others have purchased these items from them and how it went.

I have not purchased any of these doweling jigs yet, but have had good results from other tools/jigs from Banggood. You do need to study their listings well before ordering. The prices are a little deceptive, such as the Wnew dowel jigs. They show the primary jig but the low price listed is for an accessory kit. Also make sure the unit ordered is from the same warehouse as listed with the product pictured. They often have multiple listings for the same tool but prices vary depending if it's shipped from US, CN, or China.

in my experience... its finding a drill that can actually cut a hole accurately without tearing thats the challenge.

I have the Drill Pro, I do not recommend it. The bushings are not well aligned such that you can rely on aligning the dowel holes based on the sides of the jig and the grub screws are very low quality. I am always looking for a new one, thus watching this video.

This wheel does not provide a sufficiently wide base, when you lay the jig onto a small thickness panel. You reviews are not honest.

If you don't like it, get yourself some plywood and 6mm Aluminium sheet, and make your own, and a video to show us all how good it/you is/are
