The way rival fans go on about him being bad you’d think us Liverpool fans would want him out the team. Also with him being “bad defensively” you’d think it’d cost us more but we’re usually the best or second when it comes to goals conceded in the league, we’ve made it to 3 CL finals (losing to Madrid is shit, but it’s just standard to lose to Madrid in the CL final for everyone), we’ve won every single competition available. And Trent has been our RB for all of that, rival fans simply have an agenda against him.

calling him a defender is a bit of a disgrace tbh, his defending is DREADFUL, klopp just doesn't know where else to put him bc he functions best in the attack when at the back right, but he can do nothing for the team defensivly, and it has worked for them in the past, but its far less consistent

He's been sound this season coming off of a big injury last season, Liverpool joint lowest for conceded goals but surely leaky trent must let a few in.

Klopp and his staff have obviously analyzed and found that continuing to allow Trent to drift centrally and forward at times is a net gain vs the overloads that opposing teams naturally do and have to do down that side to have any counter punches. And at any rate, when he’s faced up 1v1 he’s in the top 30% or so this season for defenders? Only got rinsed by Martinelli off the bench and it turns out he was playing through a small tear in his lateral knee ligament

i mean the formation we play now is basically a 2-1-4-3, we have the centre backs with fabinho sitting then a midfield 4 with trent and robbo then the 3 upfront, i’d like to see us play without fabinho and another centre back so the width is covered better defensively and there’s even more cover. We don’t have any creative midfielders so we need our fullbacks as high as possible to create

Yeah the weight of the pass is just ridiculous. Teases the defender into thinking he can get there first. Just beautiful.

One of his best was also one of his shortest passes. The inside pass to Firmino in the World Club Cup semi-finals is a bit of genius.

His passing technique is up there with the best that ever did it.

dont think there’s any in the video, but one very satisfying pass he does regularly is one fired straight into firmino’s feet as he drops off inbetween the lines, one of the most effective ways we break the lines of the opposition

Trent stepping out of full back into the Xabi Alonso role in midfield is perfect for him. This summer's midfield rebuild needs to be done around Trent, signing the likes of Ugarte & Mac Allister would be seriously strengthen theost important area of the pitch. Klopp is using the box midfield shape with Guardiola & Arteta both use. For me I'd like to see him use the midfield diamond shape which Cruyff used at Barcelona with the 3-4-3 formation. Ugarte DM, Trent RCM, Mac Allister LCM & Gakpo AM would be 🔥

This is just therapeutic to watch.

@@abhinavpalivela7843 Trent’s always been an inverted full back under Klopp. If you watched him last season you’d notice the positions he’s picking up are that of a no. 10. He’s been poor this season, but last season was his best yet. If Klopp can evolve his system like guardiola does instead of gassing out every few years like he did at dortmund and Mainz, he’ll be fine. The main problem this season is how easy he is to exploit when Liverpool’s system isn’t working properly, which it hasn’t done all season

Klopp is a hard-headed stubborn bastard. His tactic doesn't even work anymore, so many teams have found the antithesis to gegenpressing yet he doesn't want to change a single thing.

The sooner Klopp moves him to a deep-lying playmaker in the midfield the better. Imagina Trent playing slightly higher up and not having to deal with pacy wingers..... He'd be the next Pirlo/Xabi Alonso but with better crossing.
