Cosmo Sheldroke The moss
Well, legend has it that the moss grows on the north side of the trees
Well, legend has it that when the rain comes down, all the worms come up to breathe
Well, legend has it that when the sunbeams come, all the plants they eat them with
their leaves
Well, legend has it that the world spins round on an axis of twenty-three degrees.
But have you heard the story of the rabbit in the moon
Or the cow that hopped the planets, while straddling a spoon
Or she, who leapt up mountains, while whistling up a tune
And swapped her songs with swallows, while riding on a broom.
Well we can all learn things both many and a-few
From that old hunched woman who lived inside a shoe
Or the girl that sang all day and by night she ate tear soup
Or, the man who drank too much and got the brewers' droop.
Come listen up all ye fair maids to how the moral goes
Nobody knew and nobody knows
How the pobble was robbed of his twice five toes
Or how the dong came to own a luminous nose
Or how the jumblies went to sea in a sieve that they rowed
And came to shore by the chankly bore, where the bong trees grow
Where the jabberwocky's small green tentacles do flow
And the quanglewangle plays, in the rain and the snow.

When i hear this song, I think of many things. But what it really reminds me of old legends, old heroes, long long since passed their prime. Long forgotten. But there's one person who tells their tale. This person was one of the heroes and tells the real tale, including the death and flaws of their friends. But they know that the stories taught important lessons so they tell it anyway.

This has just made me think of a character in like a western fantasy setting who in which people know all the classic fairy tales. Then there is one person who also knows about science through legends and stories, however believes that within the fairy tales there is another hidden tale, within the why and the how, and they just search and search
The song starts starts with facts ,things we know , the throwing yourself into facts and knowing them for comfort and ignoring the mysterious ,potentially fictitious and twisted , something I did as I grew up .Only to slowly end up driving us mad with boredom and turning to the weird and wonderful stories and thoughts when surrounded by nature as well as the strange and upsetting. And being enveloped within it all . Love this song ,can't believe I've only just found it again after ages.
Guess I found my new favorite song

Who listen this in 2020 and think coved 19 suck
i can kinda imagine this song being about a time traveller telling stuff from this time to people in old times since some of those are just real life things worded out in a funkier way, which later become legends "rabbit in the moon" is just a part of the moon which has those grey marks that forms the shape of a bunny nd there's also some fairy tales and nursery rhymes
I remember the first time I heard this song was from my old ex girlfriend who send it to me because it reminded her of me... every call I always spoke stories about mythological tales from Norse to Egyptian and she always found it interesting. It’s been a month since the break up I believe. We are still friends but I can feel our relationship fade away as time goes by... This song bring back so many memories... Some i want to keep... Others I wish i forgot

I cant stop listening to this song
Makes me want to write a fantasy story about a young one learning about life from an elder who had explored the world before dying. They listened to their ghost, if that wasn’t clear.
I love this song so much, it sounds so mysterious and whimsical, and at the same time there's this underlying sadness to the melody, like calling back memories of adventures long since passed
I had a book of old fairytales and nursery rhymes when I was younger, and a lot of them were more obscure so hearing about some of them in this song was really nice. Or at least, I thought they were obscure because nobody else knew them in my class. Might be a generation thing.
This song is gorgeous. It’s cryptic, mysterious, and leaves you wanting more. It’s adventurous, in a way, like it could be the theme song for a show like The Owl House.
This is my comfort song It played quiet on repeat for a half hour from my best friends playlist during our first kiss and drive during our first date , we were friends for 8 years before that and it was the first step into a relationship. Ligit love just playing it on repeat a few times once in a while to relax.

This song is just a whole Nother Vibe and World that I can't Describe. Its just Different from the Rest of them
Yes I’m about to write an essay about this. And it’s gonna be fun damnit
This makes me think that reality is just a fantasy and we’re just apart of a fairytale and there’s actually another world out there that’s very different and we’re just stories to them and that world is just a legend to another world that Is different and so on, I’m starting to think that we’re all just made up and that we have different stories to tell to others, I love it.
