The Moors Valley Railway - Grand Summer Steam Gala - 08/06/13
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Saturday 8th June saw us heading to the 7¼ inch gauge Moors Valley Railway for their 'Grand Summer Steam Gala'. An annual event which would see a very intensive timetable with passenger trains, goods train and even P-way trains. The event also sees the entire operational home steam fleet in service (I counted 12 locos), so there's plenty of variety when it comes to locomotives. As well as the railway there would also be various displays featuring scale models, traction engines, steam rollers and vintage cars. Although I didn't have time to film those as we would be heading off the to Eastleigh Lakeside Railway afterwards, but more on that later.
Locomotives in operation during the gala included:
- 4-6-2 no.19 'Thor'
- 0-4-2T 'Ivor'
- 2-4-0 no.14 'Horton'
- 4-6-0 no.5 'Sapper'
- 2-4-4T no.9 'Jason'
- 2-6-2 no.10 'Offa'
- 0-4-2T no.3 'Talos'
- 0-4-2T no.4 'Tinkerbell'
- 2-8-0 no.19 'Athelstan'
- 2-6-4T no.7 'Aelfred'
- 2-4-4T no.17 'Hartfield'
- 0-4-2T no.24 'Perseus'
Filmed on a Panasonic HDC-HS900 with a Panasonic VW-VM2SE microphone.
Enjoy.

Always have to comeback and watch this masterpiece of a video! Going here for the first time in 4 years today and I am very excited
Probably the nicest miniature railway I've seen in a while!
This has to be one of the best, if not THE best, miniature railways around. :D
8:15 that was truly magical. Take a bow Andy Jefford...😂
Great video of a great miniature railway. For me the railway is on a par with the Romney hythe and day church railway.
Was a nice gala indeed :) It is quite a nice line, I won't say much about how much they charge for the car park though! Thanks for watching and commenting Dave and apologies for the belated reply.
A fantastic video! Really nice to see some miniature railway coverage. Liked.
Fantastic!! Thank you so much for sharing!
Looks like it was a good all round Gala , like the old organ music , some nice Loco`s they have there
Amazing railway and really nicely done video; thank you for posting your work. Cheers!
The mind boggles to think of the cost in setting something like that up!
I've always loved your videos.
It's alright :P Hehe, thanks for watching and commenting Dan :)
IM GOING THERE TOMORROW
Thank you Thomas :)
Had to google this to find out where it was ?
The music is Florentiner march
Lovely railway but the track is very uneven in places and the carriages at 22:40 are really wobbling from side to side!
would I be correct in thinking the pit in front of the left loco is an ash pit?
12:10. that's me and my friend!!
Thor's whistle sounds a lot like Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railways Dr Syn
