That soliloquy at the end is definitely ASMR-inducing. Too bad it wasn't longer but still hits the spot or whatever you want to call it. :)

Dustin Haywood (in a BBC interview) said its about a man who is mourning his wifes passing. I heard. D.J. conmenting on it after it played. So.. Im not 100%..But the poem at the end pretty much confirms it.

I still find it hard to believe that a 19yr old wrote this.. it's truly amazing and it just goes to show that the people of the 60s and 70s were a different breed and way more intelligent than today's kids... music of today is just shit.. it's rare to find anything this intelligent and ahead of its time.. this was my parents generation of music.. I listened to what my dad played.. and I thank him for playing it.. even if he's not with us anymore..

Back in the day of radio stations that allowed songs to be dedicated to someone on air, a couple of friends had this one dedicated to me. I was unaware one of my buds knew the disc jockey and during dinner he played the dedication. I was having a bad day and it overwhelmed me being unexpected and 'Nightd in White Satin' being my favorite song. Two of those friends have passed away now and hearing it tonight brought that memory back to me and them. Thanks for the posting, and letting me comment. I needed it.

This song is heartfelt! I had written down the words to this song and had it on my desk. One day my Dad came in and found the paper I wrote the words to, and wrote on that same paper, "I love you too, Love Daddy" I will never forget those precious words as it was hard for him to show emotions and love!! It will always be my very favorite song! My boyfriend and I loved this song also.........he went off to join the Marines and never saw or heard from him again, so this song is that much more special to me!!

Band member Justin Hayward wrote and composed the song at age 19 in Swindon, and titled the song after a girlfriend gave him a gift of satin bedsheets. The song itself was a tale of a yearning love from afar, which leads many aficionados to term it as a tale of unrequited love endured by Hayward. Hayward said of the song, "It was just another song I was writing and I thought it was very powerful. It was a very personal song and every note, every word in it means something to me and I found that a lot of other people have felt that very same way about it."[5] The London Festival Orchestra provided the orchestral accompaniment for the introduction, the final rendition of the chorus, and the "final lament" section, all of which were in the original album version. The "orchestral" sounds in the main body of the song were actually produced by Mike Pinder's Mellotron keyboard device,[6] which would come to define the "Moody Blues sound".[citation needed] The song is written in the key of E minor[7] and features the Neapolitan chord (F).[8]

The visual symbols used in this video represents what this song always stirred in me from when I was a teenager. The video uses mystical symbols that represent the path to fulfillment of the self when we unite in love with our higher self. When we all achieve that fulfillment, every moment of our existence will become as beautiful as the song. There will be only love.

🥀Beautiful Song Brilliant lyrics, vocals and music. In my teenage years my high school Soulmate had made this song personal between us for reason he recorded it didn't sing the song except for the poem he did the talking he gave it to me and a month later he was killed by a drunk driver we had grew up from age 7yrs old same age on up. He was my best friend. He was 16yrs old when killed I didn't know it at the time but I was 12 days pregnant with his baby girl. It almost destroyed me. She's 46 now I still to this day remember him and still love him. There's some things in life we don't understand for some reason God needed him more. At least I have our memories and our Daughter. I'm not looking for pity but to understand how we can survive all obstacles in our way. "Prayers "! God Bless you all🥀✌🥀☝️
