ah, bummy boy, people in washington, oregon, alaska and canadia routinely catch steelhead and various types of salmon (chum, chinook, silver) that large, on similar or lighter gear. in rivers against current and in salt water. a good steelhead rod and appropriate technique are certainly capable of handling strong, active fish on 10 lb mono or braid. BTW, your daughter seems so precious. you are blessed with a wonderful little family! live well, fish on, and taste life fully!

Big fish on light tackle! There is nothing better in this world. I have an 8 foot Tica rated for 1/2 to 3 oz paires with an abu garcia 5000 spoiled with 8lb test mono. Caught a 32-inch Red off of Rodanthe, NC a few years ago using a 2 hook bottom rig baited with shrimp. One of the best fights I've ever had. ran me up and down the beach for almost 20 minutes before I got it in. I love light tackle fishing!

That's the point. To get people to click on his videos. This guy's great and I've learned alot from him. All his videos are similar to this. But every title should be marketed for people to get clicked on. And it's not like he lied. It's winter time. Ugly conditions on lite tackle. It's rare that happens in winter time

I appreciate the feedback. However, my titles are never “clickbait”. I don’t lie to get people to click. I use descriptive language to appeal to an audience but don’t give you all the information in the title. You have to watch the video to get the whole story. That’s normal and what every single form of media has done since, forever. Movies, news, sports, all of it. For example this fish was very large and if you saw the video I would certainly use the word “monstrous” to describe it. And conditions were terrible this day for one and for two I battle the fish with very light tackle that not many people would have actually been able to land that fish. My hook was even bent and I did nearly lose the fish, so no I shouldn’t have landed that fish. The title of this video perfectly describes the highlight of the video without giving you all the details, because if I gave you all the information in the title…what’s the point? The point is to watch the video.
