The Monster Jellyfish Invading The Japanese Oceans | Monster Jellyfish | Real Wild
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Plagues of giant jellyfish are preparing to attack Japan - billions of these Sumo sized gelatinous monsters will wreak havoc on Japan’s coastal towns and cities. Big enough to sink fishing boats, the giant Nomura Jellyfish grows to over 2m long and up to 200kg, one of the world’s largest jellyfish. Rising sea temperatures has seen an increase in these monsters - and this year will see the biggest attack ever.

Call me a nerd, but the jelly life cycle blows my mind!
This is actually really informative as I didn't know anything about these types of jellyfish. We were learning about jellyfish but they never told us about this. My sisters watched this with me and out of my freinds and family we know the most about jellyfish. Really good documentary !

Super frustrating I don’t know Japanese or Chinese. Even more frustrating subtitles aren’t provided... other than that great documentary. I learned something that I didn’t even know was a problem (jellyfish-the byproduct of us destroying our world).

I’d like to order a new ocean with fish please. Thank you
When I was a kid in the 1950's and 1960's my parents had a cottage on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. We would spend our summers there and swim and fish every day. The water was clear and clean. The fishing was stupendous. As time went by, the water grew murky and jellyfish began to appear in ever increasing numbers, cutting off swimming and then fishing. It became unusable for shoreline recreation. My parents sold it in 1964. Find the natural enemies of the Namura Jellyfish and amplify its development. Don't try to control jellyfish reproduction. That is a loosing battle! Also, isn't land pollution runoff (phosphates and nitrates) a contributor to jellyfish health? Can one use the jellyfish as fertilizer? Try dehydrating the jellyfish... sun drying.
i really am begging to be reborn as a jellyfish i need to float away in the sea carelessley rn

I'm glad they ruin the finishing industry because the finishing industry is ruining the ocean.
Over fishing and Pollution is causing this. They need to introduce fish that eat these jellies in order to keep the population down. Stop the runoff from farm lands polluting the ocean.
lol, no subtitles? Unless you're bilingual, this documentary is only half-effective. You're either Japanese and have no idea what the narrator is saying, or an English-speaker and have no idea what those being interviewed are saying.

I calculated the math of the nomora is shocking. The nomora jellyfish and its descendants can produce 10^15-80 in just ten years. And this is one animal that should not be an invasive species.
But because of overfishing and pollution and climate change. The eggs and polyps are now having a higher chance of survival and now the nomora jellyfish is considered as one of most over populated marine animal species in the world.
@Opinion31519

I was just talking to my friend saying that same thing. I rather octopus eggs make it instead
If the biggest jellyfish in the world produces up to or over a billion eggs That means the nomora is a record breaker for the most eggs at a time. Which are released in to the water when the nomora jellyfish dies.
ENGLISH SUBTITLES PLEASE!!

The nomura jellyfish is one animal that should not become an invasive species! But do to the cargo trade, the cargo boats will introduce these nomura polyps to everywhere around the Pacific Ocean, and this giant jellyfish will strike the fears of fishermen and swimmers and even coral reefs, this jellyfish is the worst nightmare soon to come true?! But luckily because of COVID-19 this will almost stop the cargo trade from China to the American coast line, which also means it can almost stop boats from introducing non native jellyfish species such as the nomura to invade other habitats and ecosystem? And this jellyfish is even scarier than the box jellyfish, and irikandji jellyfish?! And do to the nomura’s fast growth and mind boggling reproduction, and it’s game over for the ecosystem and us, and there is almost no stopping this giant jellyfish?!
No plankton no problem jellyfish polyps will feed on the dead jellyfish carcass if food is scarce.

Plankton produces the majority of our oxygen tho so thats not gonna end well for us. Also a majority of the bottom of the food chain eats plankton. No plankton = everything dies.
We’re going to have to start raising fish on land in aquariums, feeding them algae

And if you put this jellyfish species in the worlds deepest lake, it can fill up the lake in less than five years. And who knew that one of the biggest jellyfish in the world could produce a billion eggs in the nomora jellyfish’s life time. Another animal world record for the most eggs or offspring by any animal in the world.
So there is no predator of these over couping jellies other than humanity? Lmao looking at giant crab .

Petfood!
And these jellyfish have caused devastating problems all over the Chinese and Japanese coastlines,! Including shutting down nuclear power plants.?
They look like huge transparent mushrooms 🍄 along with roots at the bottom, gracefully swimming in the sea.. 🏝
This is very old film, or a new one on the same jelly fish taking over the sea's off Japan, they basically fuck the sea's from over fishing (which they was warned and warned against) but Japan didn't do anything to correct the damage and so they fish the dead seas for jelly fish to eat!! (Where jelly fish are there's no oxidation in the water so NOTHING ELSE CAN LIVE IN IT!!. THIS IS ABOUT 10+YEAR'S OLD!!
of all the giant animals on earth, the most scariest giant animals in the world is a invertebrate with no bones and typical circulation system and almost no guts and no brain and it can reproduce really fast? This animal is the nomura jellyfish and it’s one of if not the worst giant animal on the planet, because after you watch this video, you might feel really bad about Japan, and it’s so bad and scary that I almost don’t want to watch anime ever again after this video!
I’d rather Octopuses 🐙 Babies make it like this instead of these jelly balloons🪼
If you know this much why would you say is could it be climate change?
Japan won’t be having any of this there fishing is very important they will start killing as many jellyfish as possible 🦅

Turtles are a natural predator for jellyfish so they absolutely would help in this situation along with all the other species of fish that naturally prey on jellyfish. They are overfished and gone so the jellyfish has no natural checks and balances.
Why dont they just make that species instinct
It's because you're catching ALL THE FISH that EAT the jellyfish. DUUUUUUHHHHH
Its a curse for over fishing
Your talking about years and at most decades and trying to make a statement about global warming. That's like thinking you understand the ocean through a cup of ocean water you once saw.
Same I am American not JAPANESE
So basically stop fishing so much
