Dr. Ms. The Monarch's voice just sounds feminine to me after watching the entire show twice. At first, it was so jarring, but now it's like the sky being blue, just normal... I love her so much 🫶

I think the voice gets slightly less deep/flat in the later seasons and the more expressive range helps the voice FEEL like her own. Idk that it feels feminine to me, but it does feel like the voice a feminine character has- so it doesn't read as "Masculine" anymore.

The funniest part of it is when you watch Doc Hammer talk about it, his voice acting is all the same voice just with different octaves. Dr Mrs The Monarch is the same voice as Billy Quizboy's without the lisp. Now rewatch the show and try not to hear it lol.

I met a cosplayer who made a pretty good Queen Etheria outfit and I had the same question, and she revealed you pretty much have to take the whole thing off like a romper to use the bathroom.😅 In her case to make the outfit she basically used a minimalist one-piece bikini that she sewed the sheer dress onto, along with the attached collar.

Yesss Venture Brothers content I absolutely love the Monarchs. I actually would like to add that the rumor of Shelia confessing during the S2 ending being about her being pregnant is a verified fact as it was confirmed in the VB art book. From what I remember, the creators said, they were going to go for it but just felt like it didn’t fit the character and backtracked. There are concept sketches of her being pregnant in addition and the creators went on to say her confession was the biggest loose thread they had (at least at the time) since they really had no answer as to what she said to the Monarch. But it was originally supposed to be a pregnancy confession Safe to say her being pregnant was a scrapped concept by season 3

I like to think she and the Monarch agreed to have an abortion. It wasn't the right time, stress is piling up, Sheila already said that she didnt want bio kids in the pilot, and then they would need to make room in the cocoon for a baby room where henchmen die every week.... No way.

During the long pause between seasons, the general consensus was that she’d told the Monarch that she’d been born male. Obviously that wasn’t it, but people were insisting that was what it was.

@@tinkywinky5558 it was just what everyone thought it was gonna be. Personally, I didn’t buy it. It was too straightforward a gag, you know? Too obvious. So i figured it had to be something else, but i admit i never suspected the pregnancy thing.

Kitty, your voice isn't weird and sounds perfectly feminine to me. As a man with a very deep voice, I sound like Geralt of Rivia if he gargled with gravel rocks instead of Listerine. I've also been told that I sound constantly high because of the monotone sound of my voice. I wish my voice was the attractive-sounding type of deep, but it isn't. It's just monotone as all hell. Also, I'm glad to see someone bring up the nature of female superhero/supervillain outfits. I think a hero or villain of any gender should dress in an outfit that allows them to be functional in the middle of their heroism/villainy. In Harley Quinn's case I assume the skimpy attire was freeing as a result of it being something she could choose for herself, and I respect that.

@@lilkitty2189 Fair point. I must admit I'm not the best source of information on that one since I haven't really kept up with comics in a while. I used to collect them and read them as a kid for certain heroes I liked, which was mostly Spider-Man and Daredevil as well as some Batman and even a couple of Iron Man, Hulk, and X-Men comics, so I haven't kept current, although I've learned more about some characters through osmosis so to speak even though I'm not a frequent reader of comics for the most part. If I were to design a character, I would want to make their costume as practical as possible to be honest. I don't mind if they fit a theme as well, though. I think Batman's costume was pretty practical, even though I usually think capes can be a potential hindrance, but I remember reading somewhere once that Batman put lead tips in his to help him keep his balance as he fights and also magnetize them so he can glide, so that seems pretty useful to me if that's actually correct. Otherwise, I always figured capes were mostly for show. I would want a suit that is resistant to bullets but not too heavy so that I could maneuver decently while having some protection and maybe add in some retractable blades at the top of the hands as well as the elbows, knees, and toes since I practice martial arts and the main one I train in these days is Muay Thai along with some grappling from a few different styles to add to the clinch grappling already found in Muay Thai. That's just a more personalized example, but you can see what I'm going for. Sorry for the long obsessive rant, I just get a bit carried away on topics that interest me lol

My good friend you need to learn to voice act The vocal chord is an instrument. No different than any that you would pick up with your hand You just need to learn how to use it correctly. Men like Walter cronkite had very distinctive deep and monotone voices But they were concerned to be people who were the voice of a nation. Don't sell yourself short, my friend.. You will succeed one day. Someone is going to hear your voice. And they're going to think this is the perfect man to voice. My main character a grim growly man Growling grimly And you will be the next voice actor for the next modern first person shooter. So don't give up. Keep putting yourself out there and eventually someone will stumble across you and realize your potential

You know.... If this hits the Dagmar Threshold, a good second video would be on the character arc of Henchman 21. Out of literally everyone in the series with the possible exception of Dean, 21 has had the most overall character growth. And let's face it, the villains are the best thing about The Venture Brothers!

With all this talk about Sheila's agency character arc I can't stop thinking about like, antagonists meant to be foils to _her_ specifically. Like a black widow (toxic, spiders eat bugs like butterflies) themed middle-aged villainess called Spinnerella or something who's like somewhere between a radical feminist and tradwife fetishist, where she refuses to settle down but ensnares gullible younger guys in her web of "man-traps" like vegas weddings, surprise pregnancies, false abuse claims, etc; her philosophy boils down to women taking the power from the patriarchy by twisting it to work in their favor, and her middle-aged henchwomen are called 'spinsters' both for the spider web theme and to prove that you don't have to be young and sexy to make something of yourself. She tries to convince Sheila to join her 'web' and ditch the Monarch/Phantom Limb to become a serial monogamist like her, but Sheila just can't reconcile the idea because even if she's not literally sexing her way to the top she'd still essentially be relying on men for everything in her life.

Oh Kitty, I can't WAIT until you finish the series, all the answers you ask about WHY the monarch is the Venture villain is answered. But I adore the Monarch and Sheila so much, I love how positive their sex life is and how wonderfully they work off of each other especially in the later seasons. Season 6 is where I feel they shine the most

I actually liked the swifness of the 'marry me' scene. DMTM initially reacts incredulously, but after The Monarch repeats himself and she sees in his face that he's serious, it takes barely 2 seconds for her to give a "Yes". And not a yes that's over the top with excitement or half-blubbered from between tears as she's beside herself with emotion. She knew for herself that the two of them were perfect for each other. Just a clear, deliberate, almost business-like 'Yes'.

Yes! They are the magnet that pulls me back to the show & their scenes & lines completely steal it every time, plus their love is god & they're not afraid to be uncool & themselves with each other 💛🦋🧡🦹‍♀💛🦋🧡🦹‍♂💛🔥💗

Also to add! JJ is TERRIBLE at following the rules because he just doesn't get the Hero/Villain thing (Remember how EVERYONE following that rules gets VERY annoyed when anybody goes off script!) which is why despite being BETTER then Rusty in dealing with "The Monarchs" JJ's "cancer" is suspected to be from the Guild retaliating against him for his misconduct in breaking "The RuleZ"
