How long will it take? Brad Scott has already said it’s an 8 year program. We’re in year 2. Great to see the progress in the last month but it’s only been a month. New recruits in the team, McKay, Gresham, Duursma, it takes time. If the Dons can make finals I’ll take that as a win. If they win a final that would be huge! But I’m not expecting that. It takes years to build a premiership team. Brad’s been in charge for just under a year and half. They’re showing progress and that’s all you can ask at this stage. Are they a top 4 team. Not right now. They’ve only beaten one top 8 team, well one and half if you count the draw with the Pies, we’re beaten by Sydney & Port, and barely got past the Crows and Eagles. We’ll only really know when we get to the final 6 rounds when they have gone missing in recent times. Having said that, I’m really liking the way are playing, the intensity, they have to to keep that up. That’s what finals teams are about. Go Dons! 🔴⚫️

It does NOT take years to build a premiership team. History proves that. Flags have been won by teams simply topping up, which we have done bringing in McKay,gresham etc. You don't bring in mature age recruits unless your ready to rock.

This is exactly what’s wrong with media pundits. So round 4 they’re a mess with a pedestrian list and miles away from contending, five rounds later they’re contenders? You don’t win Premierships or finals in round 9 and Essendon are tracking well but have fallen down countless times in the back end of seasons in the past two decades, including last year. Maybe wait until round 15-18 to make assessments, I’m sure there’ll be some good and bad games in there. Would anyone really say the Dons are a better chance of doing something over the journey this season than Sydney, GWS, Geelong, Melbourne, Carlton, Collingwood, Brisbane, Port… I wouldn’t. That’s your eight right there.

Essendon were 5th after round 17 last year, will 2024 show growth or will they crumble?? I think as long as injuries dont play a part they finish top 4. That would be a turn around in a season!!

I'm not onboard with the bombers YET........ If we are the real deal these next two weeks should be comfortable wins,we need the percentage boost!! Don't want to hear Brad Scott pedal the "how tight the competition is" narrative if we only manage scrappy wins against bottom four sides!! We all remember last year surely 🤦🏻

They had a win, lucky them. They beat GWS early last year too and then got smashed later on. Hype them up for the supporters but only way they'll get in top 8 for finals is by AFL and umpires admission. They are still an 8 to 12 team overall.

With the favourable fixture they have for the rest of the season which includes literally only having 2 interstate away matches left. They should very easily play Finals easily.

@@taliamason7986 Bombers have already played 4 interstate games, so compared to other teams, lets say, collingwood, where they've only played 1 - well, technically 2, although gather round was their home game against hawks, so i dont think that should really count, whereas, the bombers played port that round, which definitely counts. Anyway, collingwood have 3 interstate games left for the year, which, for the overall season, is 2 less than bombers. So i dont think it's 'favorable', cause its not even equally 'fair'.

Smashed by swans and port,draper was absolutely htb so thats a loss to adelaide as well. BARELY beat eagles. Beat gws who are beat up and out of form . Beat a useless doggies side. They havent done a single thing and its typical media praying for a big 4 vic club to be "back" once again They will make finals cause their draw is the easiest in history,but will lose when they relise finals means winning against a finals team and not the bottom half of the ladder
