Dan, you captured and told an amazing story. I'm humbled and grateful to have been a part of it. You learn a lot about yourself going 100 miles... how to solve problems (both physical and mental), how to persevere when times are the toughest, and what you're made of. Ultras in a lot of ways, for me, mimic life in general. The friends you make along the way play a big role. You and your brother Will are part of that circle to me and referred to as "two tough dudes from the Midwest". Thank you for the first 26 miles, thank you for the company and conversation on the trail, and thank you for sharing this story with the world. I had a great time running with you man. It’s the friendships made at these things that mean the most. So many great people all at the same event - all suffering together. I love this sport. I’ll be very curious to hear where you run next!

Such an amazing adventure to tag along. Had the time of my life. Can’t wait to conquer more in the future bro. Great real life recap and just wish we had more footage of the storm and rough spots to show the hole we dug each other out of. Your the man.
