I was surprised it got FoTN, tbh. Aside from the last 10-seconds, Max dominated the fight. Gaethje looked lost after breaking his nose and getting eye-poked twice. He had no strategy besides leg-kicks which Max handled surprisingly well. He did knock Max down for the first time in his career, but only landed two other significant head-strikes -- which admittedly would have rocked anyone else but Max. Everyone said it was FoTN because Dana White did and the media ran with it.

I really hope they make Topuria vs Holloway next. I have no idea who wins that one but I think fans who were calling Ilia scared on Saturday are delusional and just don’t like him on a personal level since he put Volk to sleep 😂

The narrative that ilia is trying to paint about max and volk is hilarious lol. He says volk was champion so he is a beast because he beat him… but then says max isn’t very good lol like max wasnt champion as well. And also it’s important to remember ufc casuals… it might officially be 3-0 to volk against max but in reality it’s 2-1 volk. Max was robbed in the 2nd fight. While volk was still winning the series people wouldn’t think of max so bad if it actually was 2-1 and not 3-0

Max WAS hittable. He’s defense has improved very much over the years. It’ll all come down to if Max can manage the distance , keep Ilia on the outside, and stay off the fence. Those are all things Max is Elite but it’s also things Ilia is great at eliminating. When it ever it happens it’s Gonna be such an interesting fight

I just feel like the BMF belt has to be defended in a BMF style of fight, sort of an unwritten agreement between the two fighters to compete a little differently...AKA stand and bang. That's my only issue with automatically saying the BMF belt should be on the line whenever the current belt holder competes. Agreeing to a BMF bout is completely different than agreeing to any other type of fight. Thats just my interpretation and maybe others will disagree?

I understand you said the pace of UFC 300. It was great Boom Boom Boom, But.. I realized that alot of the undercard fights walkouts got cut. Me as a fan. Sometimes the walk-outs can be the best part and its how you can understand the personalities of the fighters. I guess that was the only downfall to me of the crazy pace The UFC had at 300. That's All though. The Fights we're incredible!!!

The reason for the paper is because he was waiting on the response from Arman to see if he was accepting that fight. Once they got his answer, then they gave Dana the paper so he could announce. I don't understand why you have such a problem with announcing it a certain way . He wanted the fighters on UFC 300 to have their moment and didn't want anything to be taken away from them. Who cares how you announce a fight. It's literally going to make zero difference in pay-per-view sales. People are just always going to find something to gripe about. Just be happy. Hi Ariel and crew (please excuse my username - I made this account when I was 11. First time commenter and listener since my MMA fandom began through watching the Islam vs Charles card. just wanted to share my opinion on why Dana announced the Conor Chandler fight at the post fight press conference. I think it’s because they are strategically using Dana as the marketing of the UFC due to his fame. He is possibly more famous than every fighter on the roster except Conor and his appearances on the Nelk podcast have made him a recognisable face to a younger generation. There are also multiple memes featuring Dana such as the massive hands one and “oil me up” which will likely be familiar to large portions of the casual audience and some non-mma fans may have seen these memes. We also know how much stock Dana takes in social media metrics because of how he talks about the online engagement regarding power slap. have no idea why the fight was announced so unceremoniously other than to show Conor “who’s the boss “ but that’s my take on why it’s Dana specifically who makes the announcement. Keep up the good work and much appreciation comes from Evan from Leeds.

The UFC are master promoters. Jiri was top of the prelims because it’s likely going to be a great fight and people will see it and buy the PPV. Those people then see Bo who is an up and comer that the UFC want to push, and they were counting on him keeping the momentum which he did. It’s not like he has any say over where on the card he fight or even what card he’s on. The UFC wanted him there to get eyes in him and build his popularity, simple as that.
