The original limited drama series The Missing made its U.S. debut on Starz on Saturday night, following its premiere in late October on BBC One in the U.K. The networks were partners in the production of the series, which was shot in Brussels and is produced by New Pictures and Company Pictures in association with Two Brothers Pictures and Playground. all3media international funded development of The Missing and is handling global rights, including U.S. secondary.
The eight-episode drama follows Tony, played by James Nesbitt, as a man devastated by the abduction of his young son during a family vacation in France. He becomes a man obsessed, unable to accept that his child may be dead, and spends years searching for him. The emotional thriller features a narrative puzzle told simultaneously over multiple time frames and set in France and London.
