I've been a Miracles fan for 50-something years, but I have never seen them get down like this. Usually they just stand and move gently. This was great.

This version of "You Really Got a Hold on Me" gives me chills. Smokey was smokin' for sure. What a slick outfit they were.

FOR SURE !! THE MIRACLES RULE !! I'm SICK and TIRED of Temptations fans always BASHING The MIRACLES . Maybe they're so mad because the majority of the Temps' early hits were actually WRITTEN by THE MIRACLES (How many Miracles hits did the Temptations write ? (0) . Or maybe it's because THE MIRACLES have MORE SONGS inducted into The GRAMMY HALL OF FAME than the Temptations, The Supremes, or ANY OTHER Motown group. Or maybe it's because THE MIRACLES are the HIGHEST-RANKED Motown group on ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE'S list of "The IMMORTALS: THE 100 GREATEST ARTISTS OF ALL-TIME ( #32 MIRACLES VS. #68 TEMPTATIONS and #96 SUPREMES) . The SIXTH MIRACLE , CLAUDETTE (Mrs. Smokey) ROBINSON , had just retired from live performances just MONTHS before this Movie was filmed. However, she continued as a NON-TOURING MEMBER of the MIRACLES, and recorded with the group on EVERY SONG and ALBUM with the group, until SMOKEY himself retired from The MIRACLES in 1972 . ALL SIX ORIGINAL MEMBERS of THE MIRACLES , SMOKEY, CLAUDETTE, her cousin, BOBBY, RONNIE, PETE, and MARV, have been INDUCTED into THE ROCK and ROLL HALL of FAME.

R.I.P. To Miracles BOBBY ROGERS,PETE MOORE, RONNIE WHITE , and MARV TARPLIN. SMOKEY, and CLAUDETTE are still with us (thank GOODNESS !!)

The orchestra was definitely on fire💥💣🔥!

David Winter did the Choreography who played action in West Side Story and his Assistant was Toni Basil who had the Hit Mickey. One of the Dancers was Teri Garr and the Black Guy would later dance in Elvis's Comeback Special in 1968.

Smokey's voice, who guess he was something

This is still the best concert of all time. Top of the line artist of all genres performing together on one bill. Fantastic!

+Blindianswirl1 i think its an outstanding piece of music history and every act was amazing. The audience was so alive.roaring. James Brown stole the show in the end but they were all outstanding and doesn't take anything away from any of them that Brown was just so remarkable in that concert. They were all great

I never liked that name change. It was totally unnecessary. Ultimately, It did more HARM than GOOD. The group should have remained as simply THE MIRACLES. Everybody already KNEW who the lead singer of The Miracles was. The name change caused the public (especially newer fans who didn't KNOW better) to think of Smokey as a solo artist, and the rest of The Miracles as simply "backups" to HIM (which was never really true, because HE was a member of the group just like THEY were.) . And this mistaken public perception set a series of unfortunate events into motion, which eventually led to The 1987 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame controversy, the FIRST and longest-running such controversy in Hall of Fame History, I.E. , the SOLO induction of Smokey , while the rest of the Miracles were left out. by 2012, when the R&R HoF finally got around to inducting the rest of The Miracles, Ronnie was DEAD, Marv was DEAD, and Bobby was almost gone, and was too sick to attend. So, only PETE and CLAUDETTE were there to accept ....and SMOKEY was the one who inducted them...some 26 YEARS AFTER HE WAS INDUCTED. What they did to The MIRACLES was CRIMINAL !!!

The Miraculous MIRACLES: (L-to-R) , PETE MOORE, BOBBY ROGERS, RONNIE WHITE, MARV TARPLIN (with guitar) , and BILL "SMOKEY" ROBINSON. (The 6th Miracle, CLAUDETTE (Mrs. Smokey) ROBINSON , though still a member of the group, stopped performing on live shows earlier in 1964, though she still recorded on all Miracles records until 1972. SMOKEY was controversially inducted SOLO into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. The rest of the MIRACLES were inducted in 2012.

Saw this show on MuchMusic in the 80's, mesmerized me. Taped a repeat so I could see it again and again. Loved the Miracles, always come back to this, but it's all awesome, The Stones, James Brown, Jan and Dean, Beach Boys, the finale, amazing! Best concert show ever, no comparison to anything else. LOVE IT!!!

Note: many (if not most) of the femcel dancers featured in this movie were Shindig and other go-go dancers on the local/network teen dance shows that would soon follow.

@@eileencastillo6323 Thank you for reply. James Brown confirm rumors that Mick Jagger tried to cut his performance short in the middle of his performance because James Brown Show was overwhelming. Mick Jagger was next to perform reported and felt could not out perform James Brown. The producers of the show would not do it.

@@tyroneprice6642 Mick tried to cut their own Rolling Stones performance. Is that what your saying? Out of intimidation? That's not hard to believe. I think that "out do" is a poor choice of words. Whoever in their right mind thought they could out do James Brown? No dought about his hugh talent. He had a hugh ego to match it and was an aggressive man. The producers made a stupid mistake scheduling the Stones to follow James Brown. As sure as no one could out do James Brown on the stage, no one follows him after a performance either. Epic it was.

James Brown performance was hot in the 1960s. There was also a rumor who would perform first. James Brown talked about closing the show believe that what he wanted. James Brown said to be very complex about his band and stage performance every thing had to be 100 percent.

Notice...Jan & Dean introduce them as **THE MIRACLES**....not "Smokey Robinson & The Miracles" . The group's ORIGINAL name on record and in concert, was simply THE MIRACLES...With NOBODY'S name up front .

Pretty sure the guitarist on this specific performance was actually Glenn Campbell. I actually asked about who the guitarist is, on another video for the TAMI show on youtube and someone told me that in his book, Bill Wyman said "This band included Leon Russell, Sonny Bono, Nino Tempo, and Glen Campbell."

Yeah, he was the first person I assumed it was, until this other person quoted the Stones book. If you can confirm it, let me know because I am very curious. The guitar playing at the very end, in particular, is really amazing.

"Seeet little 16" by Chuck Berry is a little too real here considering.

brandon stewart Bobby could sound better because he's not singing lead nor a falsetto. In those days acts would do "one nighters" and four shows each night. So no telling where this show fit into the Miracles itinerary.
