What a joy this movie is....never gets old

Miracle on 34th Street is my all-time favourite Christmas story, the 1947 film is a must every year. This version was also delightful. Nice to see Theresa Wright and MacDonald Carey together, both starred in Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt 12 years earlier. Wishing everyone a joyous and safe Christmas from Sydney, Australia!

a great movie, i am 65 and is a movie that I will never be tired off.

This version is exceptionally good. Very enjoyable!

Missing home a lot this year ..... This movie filled the void once more as i am alone in SC with vultures circling....

What a magnificent film! *'The Miracle on 34th Street'* is my all-time favorite movie. Even though our parents didn't allow us to celebrate Christmas when I was a kid, I'd sneak off in defiance and watch this heartwarming film. It was my own little Christmas celebration.

What a charming television adaption of the 1947 classic. Always loved Theresa Wright.

This is a good version but nothing beats the 1947 version.

I absolutely loved this clip.It was my very first time of seeing this version of the miracle on 34th street to me it was the best one even the original which I love and watch every Christmas. Great acting and the shorter time makes it to the point and direct

What a cast; what a production!

This is the first tv adaptation of"Miracle On 34th Street".. this was seen on:"The 20th Century Fox Hour"on CBS TV in 1955..the second tv adaptation was on NBC TV..four years later with Ed Wynn as"Kris Kringle"..the third and last tv version of this beloved story was again on CBS TV in 1973 and Sebasian Cabot played the role of "Kris Kringle".

The acting in the 1973 version is horrible!

Thank God we still have these old CLASIC Christmas movies , to show are kids how nice people are on Christmas at least it's about the only time of year the use to be ,even up to 20 years ago ,no most people are pushing and shoving , mean and ignorant to each other out in society it's so very sad , people are over worked kids are left alone or with strangers ,I could go on but ,I won't ,I wish all the beautiful hearted people left out there ,may your holidays if any ,be full of joy ! Jesus is the reason for Christmas God Bless you all !!!

It is remarkable. They have dispensed with some subplots, but it works very well.

I luv when they put them in color., too.

I'm 58 years old I've been watching miracle on 34th Street all of them since I was a little kid and this one still brings a tear to my eye this is by far the best miracle on 34th Street in my opinion.

@Skyedog, I did not understand the very last remark in the movie play Mr daily as he's holding the cane by the fireplace. In fact it kind of ruined the whole thing for me. Maybe you could explain it?

This is one of my favorite movies. I can watch it at anytime.. Any movie these days, that's loving and kind is very much appreciated. So., thanks for sharing. Not, the whole movie. I like it so.... Peace

I like this version better . but also like the old version when Santa Claus whacks Dr Sawyer in the head .

This is the second best one to 1947.

"There IS a Santa Claus! "

It's the bit at the beginning of the full length film. Where Kris Kringle spoke Dutch to a little girl who escaped occupied Holland . That's what got me.

I like the part where Nick was explaining the reindeer horns. Male reindeer shed their horns in the winter..the females don't. Thus Santa's reindeer are girls.. They don't get lost and don't have to stop for directions!!:) 🌲🌲

@@wallys11000 : Actually there are more than 2 versions of this movie! I own 2 of them, and this was not 1 of them!! However, I have actually SEEN at least 1 other version besides this 1 that I still don't have. (Making about 4 different versions so far!)

This is the edited version for TV. The miracle is a single mother with a daughter finding a high value male without any attachments and encumbrances.

No bad for a made-for-TV version, but nothing will ever beat the 1947 original.

That child exemplified a 30 year old woman. She immediately identifies how silly the whole situation is and acts cordial throughout. Great actress and great role model for how people should act

How I loved this movie growing up. I still love it. When I watch it now, I usually watch Brainstorm afterward, which was the last movie the beautiful Natalie Wood was in before her untimely death, and such a brilliant and thought-provoking movie to go out on.

I've searched through looking for the scene where he speaks Dutch to the orphan girl - not sure it made it in this version. Beautiful none the less.
