THE MINIMALISM GAME | I DECLUTTERED 465+ ITEMS IN 30 DAYS |
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I'll be sharing my version of the minimalism game witch kept me busy all over the August. First of all we with my husband are not the minimalists in that meaning. We have too many chairs, too many tables and too many books, what we are going on further keeping. On the other hand we don't need so many things and we are constantly decluttering.
We generously sorted out many belongings for charity in the begging of January this year, but then, we are also gaining some new things constantly.
But I was curious, couldn't we have even less?
I came up with The Minimalism Game when by chance discovered the Minimalists on Tedx talk with their stand up "The art of letting go"
Here is the link: • The Art of Letting Go ...
The idea of the Minimalism game is that on the first day you are removing one item from your home, two items on the second day, three on the day three and so on. On the day 30 you would have decluttered 465 items.
I have chosen an August for my mission for three reasons:
1. It's the end of the season.
2. We didn't go on holidays this year anyway.
3. I have a birthday this month so it's a good and meaningful starting point for me.

January 1st racing toward us and my wish for this year is to get more decluttering done, I always think of the larger items, but after seeing your video it has inspired me to go after the little things, like the contents of my Five button boxes, and knitting needles etc. so thank you for making this video. I am now looking forward to the new year with renewed spirit

Elaine, it's even very useful to begin with tiny items. That way you are like on some sort of learning process, like taming yourself to let go, like gaining immunity and then is easier with the bigger ones. Good luck on your mission, I would love to know how it went 😊
The tank tops - "I love them. I hate them. Just go away!" 😅 I understand how that is! ☺️❤️

Yes, the relationships with the tank tops are always complicated as you never can be sure how it will develop 😀
My sister, without much help from me, has just had to clear our mother's home after she passed away. She had lived there for 65 years, and never threw things away. Literally, every birthday card, christmas card etc had been kept. All our childhood school reports, many thousands of photos and hundreds of books. It has made me determined to declutter and not leave that job for someone else to do when I'm gone. I'll never be a minimalist - I have lots of hobbies - but I am hoing to keep it all under control, and if I get something new, something old has to go. Your video is a great kick start!

There might be many different reasons why one can't part with their belongings, but of course it's also doesn't make it easy when the other family members are let to deal with that... Good luck, with your clean up and decluttering, Karen!
Inspiring and a very relaxing video! Even your declutter videos are so organised !!! ha ha!

The best tip from this is getting rid of the cluttered pics on your computer! I have so many that are not sentimental. I think there is a program for identifying multiples. Thank you for the nice video.

Oh really, I didn't know it! Will absolutely check it out. Thank you!
I have always been a cleaner and organizer but only became a minimalist after three moves in six years. I got tired of packing and moving stuff around. We are needlessly emotionally attached to things. It feels great to donate, recycle, shop less and live without clutter. New subscriber;)

I completed this challenge in 3 days. I went crazy.. once you get started you can't stop! I didn't realize that I still had my combination lock from high school, a ton for CD's (I don't listen to them), 20 year old masking tape.. I mean! I am so happy that I did this challenge!

Hi! I'm only just discovering minimalism - and I also live in Luxembourg! Sometimes it is difficult to get rid of, for example, clothes or handbags that are still in good order, because I do not want to put them into garbage - and I've heard those orange clothes collection bins are little better than garbage. So do you have any advice for me, where could i dispose my old clothes and shoes? Or, say, books in my mother tongue? Or things that are good enough to be sold, like, idk, kitchen appliances or sports equipment in good order?
@JolitaBartkus
2 жыл бұрын
Hi redonethegreat! Thank you for watching from Luxembourg! For clothes, shoes and bags you can always ask at the Red Cross they usually glad for everything what's still in good shape. Also for kitchen appliances. But if you better would like to sell it - the fb Market place might be the solution. For the books - maybe you have a group of people from your country? In our Lithuanian group people proposing books in our language sometime. Or keep an eye on the streets. Sometimes there stay the old Phone cabins reverted into a library and everyone can leave their books and also pic the books if they found what they like. It is also expat group on fb where you can ask whether someone interested in your books and also there is one more group "Free your stuff Luxembourg'". I hope it helps and the best of luck in minimizing! 😊
I declutter so much. My parents passed away, and my mom was a hoarder and I am trying to become a minimalist, so I declutter more than 30 things a day.

Linkejimai is Vokietijos 🇩🇪🇱🇹 As irgi pradėjau gruodžio mėnesio minimalizmo žaidima, pirmom dienom yra labai lengva nereikalingų daiktų surasti, bet į pabaigą... Žiurėsim, jei bute neberasim, reiks eiti i rūsį 😉
