Just wanted to say I watch your vidoes all the time. My whole family where truck drivers it never happend for me. But I still have a great respect for truck drivers well for the goods one no respect for morons.

Hi Gerald. Yea I’ve been off since Wednesday before Christmas. Pull drop deck. Rates are crappy. Wife and I are going to Texas. from up North. end of January. I’m 68 maybe time to retire. I haul rolled roofing from a small company. Be back at it mid February. Sorry for your crappy week. Sometimes it gets you down. Been out here as owner operator since 1976. Been some great times. And then some not so good times. I hope your week is very profitable. Your deserve it. And a happy new year. Up to the buckeye state.

Thank you so much! I respect your dedication to be an owner operator longer than I’ve been alive! I don’t have to tell you that there are extremely high highs followed by extremely low lows. Man just keep your head up. I hope I can stay with it as long as you have. I really want to do this as long as I can but I’m afraid emissions and regulations will get me long before my will to quit will make me quit

Had my authority, said to hell with it all I’m leasing back on to haul steel. That lasted about 2 months and said fuck that! Got my authority back, everything dead. Got a little deal going that steady but that 5000 just ain’t the same as it was 3 years ago.

Man it’s tough right now. Been at home for 3 weeks now. But you are right. We use to think 4000 was a good week especially when fuel was 1.35 a gallon. Now 4000 at 3.50 a gallon don’t look as well. Especially since every other input cost is significantly higher.

That's why I didn't work from the 18th of December till after the first of the year and now we have two things in common I have loaded at that place in Ohio it was a long time ago probably ended up taking it to the same place in Wisconsin to I'd tell you it's going to get better but you pull a hopper and if you pull one long enough you know what the hell I'm talking about it'll get even better when prime starts interrupting your loads heard a couple days ago they're starting to Hopper division good luck bother

Yes. That was a neat load. By the time I got to Wisconsin it was single digits😂 man hoppers will always be hoppers. Got to roll with the punches! Idk how bad this prime deal will be but hopefully reefer picks back up and they forget about hoppers

Yeah brother I know you're right. All the truckin I've done from the early 80's to the late 90's I've only got one speeding ticket. Yep Ohio. Hahaha. That joke was no joke if you know what I mean. Safe travels through the new year. O don't know if you saw it or not but I was watching Martin and Alice this morning and they said Ceva cancelled a bunch of contracts and theirs was one of em. Man Ohio use to be a mess. I use to run back and forth hauling lumber up and steel back. Spent a lot of time scanning those medians! Yes I saw they got the contract cancelled. I think they have some better things coming up on the horizon though!

That area around Lake Station is definitely sketchy too close to Gary.

I noticed you haul in around Indiana.Do you ever make it into Michigan? I live about 30 minutes north of Angola Indiana in coldwater Michigan theirs a truck stop in Angola called Jamestown truck stop I'm not sher what it's called now was really nice place dont know if it is now. Their was Red arrow truck stop to down the from it.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of your cb set up. I just got my connex back and put in the truck. I had that same external speaker but mine took a 💩. Mines a 3300ZX from 1993. Pretty cool to have a piece of history in the truck lol. Especially being only 33. I get a lot of compliments on the old girl. I go to some of them places that upset a guy. We had a really bad week last week. I dropped the tranny in mine. Then got blizzard coming this week. It'll get better. It has to right? Lol

Man I hate to hear about your bad luck but it will get better. It’s always like this around the first of the year. That’s a cool CB set up you got. I’ve got 3300’s for both trucks now. The one in the 359 was set up at the 103 in Calhoun, La and the one for the 379 was set up by Bob’s in Lake Station. It’s not in the truck yet so I’m anxious to see what it does. I have a Texas Star 667 that I want to put in my 379. It use to talk big with my General Lee.

I don’t think it’s a big of a deal as people are making it out to be. I watched their video on KZread about it and I think it’s more about adding business to existing customers. Time will tell though
