It doesn't come across genuine to me. I get how it feels great to have your culture and country mentioned and supposedly understood by a famous comedian, but it felt like he was reading a script and this "crowd work" didn't come across genuine. I understand stand up is scripted mostly, but still when doing crowd work I think comics should be more natural in that. Now that's just my subjective opinion here.

This dude's ability to hit the ground running and connect with any culture is just insane

Schulz is actually an academic comedian, within a day of each location he's gonna do his stand up at , he'll have a solid 10 minutes full of jokes specifically for the country he's in. Jokes that you have to be a local to understand or even come up with, his prep time and confidence with untested material. Insane

i was live at the show. His research is mindblowing. The locals literally spit out their drinks during some jokes and the energy was insane. I didnt get much of the jokes because i am from europe. But the jokes about the locals lasted only about 10-15 minutes then he went on with his „normal jokes“. Genius.

Even as a Saudi which is very similar culturally I still didn't get half of his jokes! I think probably he get someone local to help. He deserves respect really for what he does anyway.

The amount of research and prep Andrew does for his shows is insane. Mad respect for his dedication to the craft.

Many prominent comedians have writers helping them prepare their material. Not a problem because it’s about entertainment. Andrews jokes are too local not to have had support in their creation IMO.

This dude either does a whole crap load of research or he’s literally a human AI cause how do you make jokes like this and connect with people so good about different upbringing’s & cultures. He makes jokes like he was born and raised there.

The knowledge Schulz possesses when overseas about modern/traditional cultures, ethnicities and generalities of the region is unmatched. The fact that he caters his shows the audience is what makes him one of a kind and top 3 in comedy atm. His Abu Dhabi vs Australia shows are 2 different beast but both masterpieces, respectively.

However, in the UAE women are permitted an education and they are allowed to read, and interestingly we know here in Australia that there was a group of Arabic women who saw the way that Australian women are treated and were like 'what is wrong? why do these men treat these women so bad?"
